Don’t feel pressured to move out of your parents house. Stay at home, go to college, THEN move out once you get your professor career going. So many young people feel they HAVE to move out ASAP as an adult. But that’s just completely silly. Go at your own pace. Let your family stay and help you out until your ready

I am an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at a community college and I love it! You have to love teaching and researching if you want to teach at a university, like Ms. Myers said but if you do not want to research, you can teach at a community college. Before I go into being a professor, I was a high school business teacher. Teaching science at the high school level is another option for you.
Am playing on study architecture, and urban developmental planning, and am want to pratice at a large frim, than when i get in my 60s i want to became a architect proffesser and teach the next gen of architects.

Professors are 9 months employees. If you want to only work your 9 months a year, then you technically have 3 months to enjoy outside of work. But if you teach summer courses, and get involved in a lot of research outside of the semester, then the more projects and responsibilities you put on your plate the less personal life you have, and work can become your whole life. The beauty of being a professor, is that you can adjust those parameters to suit your style. ..and.. You don't have a boss :)

I've been thinking about becoming an English lit professor but I'm scared that it's not for me. I just have no clue what else to do. In theory, I think I'd love it but I have anxiety so I'm worried about the lecturing and large groups. I also don't really know any of the specifics of being a professor. Do you know anything about being an English lit or comp lit professor (or even just plain English??)? I was thinking of teaching high school while working on further school (a lot of work, I know but I don't have the resources to only go to school and I'd love to get teaching as soon as possible). I've always enjoyed teaching others. I was a teacher's aid (as a student) and loved it so much, which only strengthened by hopes of becoming a teacher. I just know that I want to teach older kids or adults because I'm not very good with young children. Is the financial situation okay?

The best ones are the hidden ones that not even the locals know about ;) There's a good one called "Deathspresso". You can check it out on google maps sometimes, that's the area I hang out in often. But yea I was a barista at Espresso House! It's a similar work pace as Starbucks.

Right now I'm living in Hamburg but I'll be moving to München soon. I'm from Canada. I'm deciding if I want to study education here and work as a Grundschullehrer because the education is affordable here. But the thing is I will probably only be able to use it here then. I don't know if I'd want to be away from Canada by entire life- I don't love Germany THAT much lol

I came here as an AuPair originally to take care of kids. Afterwards, I found myself a flat and good friend groups. Worked in a cafe for a while where I really honed my German. I'm picking up the language super fast, at least that's what I've been told :P but now I'm moving to Munich to start a new job as a tour guide- in English though.

Haha it's called Espresso House. It's like a Swedish company. It's pretty unheard of around the world, but here in Hamburg it's huge already

Yea the coffee scene is huge here. Tons of little family cafes everywhere. I already have a few favourites! The best ones are the hidden ones that not even the locals know about ;) There's a good one called "Deathspresso". You can check it out on google maps sometimes, that's the area I hang out in often.
But yea I was a barista at Espresso House! It's a similar work pace as Starbucks.

Espresso house is getting bigger in Germany. They have a few spots in Berlin already. It's mostly a northern German/Scandinavian thing right now. I'm not sure if they want to move southward

The best advice is to reach out to professors in your field of study in your country. Requirements and academic paths can vary a lot in different regions of the world and within different academic fields
