Don’t feel pressured to move out of your parents house. Stay at home, go to college, THEN move out once you get your professor career going. So many young people feel they HAVE to move out ASAP as an adult. But that’s just completely silly. Go at your own pace. Let your family stay and help you out until your ready

I'm really struggling to understand the difference between research and study or reading up on your subject etc.
In specific in a subject such as german, foreigh languages and Liberal arts what does doing research mean? does every Prof have to publish papers or do tests and research like that? or is it more like you have to be super well read, thus do a bunch of research and then teach your findings?

Professors are 9 months employees. If you want to only work your 9 months a year, then you technically have 3 months to enjoy outside of work. But if you teach summer courses, and get involved in a lot of research outside of the semester, then the more projects and responsibilities you put on your plate the less personal life you have, and work can become your whole life. The beauty of being a professor, is that you can adjust those parameters to suit your style. ..and.. You don't have a boss :)

In theory, I think I'd love it but I have anxiety so I'm worried about the lecturing and large groups. I also don't really know any of the specifics of being a professor. Do you know anything about being an English lit or comp lit professor (or even just plain English??)? I was thinking of teaching high school while working on further school (a lot of work, I know but I don't have the resources to only go to school and I'd love to get teaching as soon as possible). I've always enjoyed teaching others. I was a teacher's aid (as a student) and loved it so much, which only strengthened by hopes of becoming a teacher. I just know that I want to teach older kids or adults because I'm not very good with young children. Is the financial situation okay?

@@JustinMyersPhoto I did my undergraduate degree in biology and got overall 61℅ out of 100 in final year. I have also given TOEFL exam and got 79 marks overall ,above 20 in each section. Now I am applying for grad school for Master program in USA 🇺🇸 , I am from India and just subscribed your channel. Your videos are fantastic🤘😝🤘, as you are a professor I'm pretty much interested in watching an academic life of well respected professors thats why I am here at your channel. I also have submitted MS program application online and waiting for admission decision. You are saying right it is very important step in academic life to get admission in grad school. I like American education system and way of teaching style of professors in USA classrooms. I'm glad to get some suggestions from you sir and please give your email id.

Right now I'm living in Hamburg but I'll be moving to München soon. I'm from Canada. I'm deciding if I want to study education here and work as a Grundschullehrer because the education is affordable here. But the thing is I will probably only be able to use it here then. I don't know if I'd want to be away from Canada by entire life- I don't love Germany THAT much lol

I came here as an AuPair originally to take care of kids. Afterwards, I found myself a flat and good friend groups. Worked in a cafe for a while where I really honed my German. I'm picking up the language super fast, at least that's what I've been told :P but now I'm moving to Munich to start a new job as a tour guide- in English though.

Yea the coffee scene is huge here. Tons of little family cafes everywhere. I already have a few favourites! The best ones are the hidden ones that not even the locals know about ;) There's a good one called "Deathspresso". You can check it out on google maps sometimes, that's the area I hang out in often.
But yea I was a barista at Espresso House! It's a similar work pace as Starbucks.
