I put a throwback can on the trailer and the dang soda eventually ate through the can leaking soda everywhere. Switched to a throw back small bottle and never had a problem again
I have the Takara version. It has a pepsi twist. It also shows that it has a special place for 12 "bottle" caps. There is also a few other minor diffrences . He also has the long smoke stacks. and I hate the small smoke stacks...
I know for a fact that the Takara release of Pepsi Prime had longer smokestacks and there was a release back in 1985 there was I believe a mail away where you can get a standard g1 prime but the trailer had a Pepsi logo on the trailer
Oh I remember this figure. This was a figure you could redeem during that 2007 promotion for the first Transformers movie called "Transform Your Summer" where you could enter codes under the bottle cap to get points and "bid" on certain items and one was Pepsi Optimus Prime. For the record I thought the Mountain Dew mini-fridge was a better deal but hey. I regret not being able to get this guy. For the record I'm a Pepsi guy myself but I'll drink stuff like Vanilla Coke. Regular Coke just tastes nasty to me.
Ah yes, my main man PepsiMax Prime. Fun fact, the Japanese version, Pepsi Convoy, is related to the infamous Pepsiman - and instead of using an Ion Rifle, he uses a Super-Carbonated *CO2 SODA GUN!*

But fans can mod it. I hope that Hasbro and Takara used the Siege, EarthRise and Kingdom recolor them as Pepsi Prime. Again look really good and awesome.
Inrteresting. I never knew there was ta Hasbro version of this in addition ot the Takara version. I'm glad he didn't come with a 15 year old bottle of blue Pepsi like the Takara version did. I suspect that reviewing that drink might have involved a trip to the emergency room.
I don't remember my Pepsi Convoy having a bottle included. I do remember going to my local Asian grocery store to pick up the appropriate aluminum shaped bottle of Pepsi to pair up with the figure. I never bothered to pick up the North American release because I already had the Takara version.
ANOTHER option would be to get a TR Rewind figure and Toyhax him with the Mtn Dew Vending Machine set to create "Dispensor", which is also pretty freakin'' sweet!😁
6:08 in addition to 1 20 oz bottle or three cans of Pepsi the trailer also has those little circles to put little bottle caps on it that had miniature transformers figurines on top but that was a thing that was going on in the Japanese version of this promotion.
@@stephenbrowning7639 I don't know if we can get an all gold Lincoln Park Soundwave with a black face I see no reason we can't get a metallic red Coca-Cola Megatron with a Coke bottle for a fusion Cannon.
It still blows my mind that this toy got a US release....

This toy was available at Botcon that year for $24.99. I am lucky enough to have it, plus the Japanese version with a Pepsi Twist.
You can buy long reproduction G1 smokestacks from Ages Three And Up’s store or website. 🙂 I’ve installed them on my reissue Optimus and Magnus.
