The roller coaster from the thumbnail looks more like "Die wilde Maus" - goes well with the pink slippers really.
Who has the hermit permit for minecarts? I'm totally not suggesting to rent out minecarts for a diamond
I just got an idea. Is it possible to change the speed of the roller coaster randomly with powered rails that turn on and of randomly? That way no raid is the same. Otherwise great build!

Last one doesn't apply, since the beef of season 9 doesn't transfer to the next season (this season). But the first two? I agree :D

@@Questerer Which shouldn't really happen. They're all friends and whatever happens on Hermitcraft server, especially on video, is all within the realm of having fun. They won't do anything that actually upsets others, and if they do, they genuinely apologize and fix the issue. You may have seen the videos where some hermits accidentally or out of grudge just nuke a huge chunk of server. This little stunt is done on a local backup of the world and doesn't affect the server. Of course they're very open about it, and tell you right away "jk, this is a backup world". There's nothing that should make Doc hold a grudge across seasons. In fact, there's nothing that should make Doc hold a grudge at all. It's fun for a video, but this is a show, and people have to understand that everything they see on video is actually just made to entertain us. They're all friends with each other, and they know what they can or can't do to each other. Don't forget that.
@ normally yes. I would agree for all the other hermits. Just like I said. But Doc is a little bit different. Watch the episode with doc over on the imp and skizz podcast. Stuff like these pranks is real to him he holds grudges sometimes over seasons. He said so about the ore snatcher too. He will retaliate even if it takes multiple seasons before he knows who the ore snatcher is. And of course he won’t take it out irl, just on the server.

False has one too (and is pretty peeved¹ at Doc for ripping it off). So Scar has his pick of rides.
¹Like, in a storyline sense-if she were actually upset, I doubt she would have included it in her episode.

@gunchbandit4422 no, Doc has said for Doccy's privacy they choose not to refer to them by he or she as that would identify their gender. So have some respect and leave it alone. They are a remarkable human regardless of what gender they are.

This is my new favorite shop on the server! It just complements the old builds perfectly and adds that lovely rollercoaster life!
For pricing the rails, the amount you charge could also be a factor in people decided to make more and larger tracks. It's also the kind of thing where if they need it at all, they likely need a lot. Maybe charge 2 diamonds per stack for all rails but the golden ones, 4 diamonds per stack for the golden ones, then with your infinite shulker boxes you offer discounts on Rail Boxes (which could be a mixture of all the rail types so it's a one-stop rail kit), 25%-50% discount

Only danger if you start trying to catch the ore snatcher during the trial, is that you'll get objections for relevance and have to play Bdub's coin flip game

The main issue with the update rn is that preventing the creaking from despawning is so hard, it's pretty much not worth it, especially when server restarts are taken into account.
Otherwise the potential of sight based redstone would be insane.

don't worry about competitive pricing - you have the permit so there is no competition! powered rails are a pain to make so make them expensive

When you're figuring out prices, don't forget to take in to account the gold and iron shops. Don't want to give a price lower than it costs to make it
You can't uncraft it. So there's no danger of undercutting. Where if you charge more then it costs from the iron and gold shop, they'll just buy from there instead.

As a roller coaster (armchair-) expert, I can tell you that travelling roller coasters never attach themselves to existing structures or (faux) landscaping. That's for stationary roller coasters in amusement parks. Also, travelling roller coasters take up a relatively small footprint because space is very limited on fairgrounds (and probably the larger the plot, the more expensive it is to rent). They go round and round the area multiple times, criss-crossing over and under itself all the time.
Also, it might just be because your hourglass is freaking huge, but the roller coaster feels really out of scale going around it. And it looks rather rickety with how few supports it has, it gives me abandoned minecart ride vibes from Indiana Jones or something.
Not that that's a bad thing, I like it a lot :D
I guess doc just wanted the fair grounds booth optic for his stand. Personally, I prefer if there are less struts than required by physics, as they look really ugly in Minecraft.
I'm a big fan of how the ride itself feels, although I'm a bit sad about the cool look of the hourglass being spoiled.
@@seregruinI agree. I think he's got too much stuff jammed into too small a space now. Would have ended up looking better leaving big, open areas between his massive builds. But I trust in the process and I'm sure he'll end up making all of it look totally amazing eventually.

Doc, you could get cup to the stand by saying as the leader of the Poe Poe, and in turn the shopping district, his opinion on Mumbo’s shop noise is necessary to understand if damage repair is due and for what shops. As soon as he’s there, just ask if his record on deformation is untainted and if he will give an honest opinion on the crime. An with the oath active, cub will either be forced to reveal he is the oar snatcher, or aid your case if you’re wrong without anyone knowing what you did.
Been watching for months, and I still forget Doc uploads on Fridays. On the other hand, I get a fun surprise every Friday.

Doc, you should add in a section or two in the rollercoaster that change randomlyto lead the hermits into a rollercoaster "accident." So 9/10 it's totally safe, but every now and then it'll be a fun moment of panic :D
Thankfully the mods I help maintain are small enough that we haven't needed to change anything since 1.21.1 but I still get surprised it feels like every few weeks now seeing an update on twitter and having to verify whether we need to update or not
1:50 - Is Doccy my long lost clone? lol. Maybe it's a German thing. That's how I was at that age - I could already read, jumped into my parents bed one Saturday morning and proudly announced that I could count to 1,000 (and did so!), fascinated by math (I got a calculator for my 4th birthday).

About the connected glass at 5:40, perhaps they could use wax like they do with copper? When you wax a glass block or pane, it becomes a waxed version. Adjacent waxed glass blocks or panes connect seemlessly like in your mod, whilst unwaxed ones remain in the old style. Could be cool for making windows with dirty/repaired patches or something

I love that the Minecart slows down a lot before the drops. It gives the decent a lot more impact and the moment just before the drop becomes really exciting and satisfying!
For pricing, you could base it on the prices from the component parts, however Mumbo has really high prices.
Watching Doc this season has gotten me back into actually playing Minecraft again for the first time in years.
Take doci shopping and have him add up all the prices of the grocery items. If he gets it right, give him the spare change for some snacks or his piggybank.

Roller coasters, and minecarts has been coming up a lot since the minecart got max speed settings. Scar will likely be looking to make roller coasters, he talks about making one in the life series but hasn't got to it, if he hasn't by the time it ends... can always make a suggestion which may increase business.
Good to hear Doccy has made the jump from Duplo to Lego, a journey many of us have taken over the years. Luckily, Lego bricks and Duplo bricks connect together as one 2x2 Duplo brick = one 4x4 Lego brick, so Duplo can still be useful to a kid who wants to build things out of Lego.

Nice coaster! If you replace the "light" item frames with glowing item frames, the "lights" will be fully illuminated at night. They won't emit light obviously, but it would help to sell the illusion if you can clearly see the lights at night.
Doc made a roller coaster and for weeks Scar has been talking about making one. I can’t wait to see Scar’s reaction to this.
I think the normal rails should be a diamond a stack, the powered rails should be 3 per stack, and the detector and activator rails should be 2 diamonds a stack. Loved the episode and especially the rollercoaster, Doc, keep up the great work!

I love putting together Lego sets with my kids. Usually we will split up the work and I will be the "finder" who looks at the instructions for the next few steps and picks out the pieces, and the kids are the "builder" who puts the pieces together.
That's how i would build with my parents when i was younger too!

When you are looking to buy a watch for Doccy, make sure it has DCF77 technology.
You must also not forget to place and ender chest in your rail shop doc otherwise the poe poe will likely write you up for a violation also it would be even more awesome if the roller coaster spiral upwards towards the top of the hour glass and spiral downwards the great goat statue before going back to the start of the ride
Just want to give a shout out to Doc. Seeing some unwarranted negativity and just want to say we appreciate you! Been watching since 2014, and won’t stop. When I first started watching I was little kid now I am a Full Time Software Engineer. Cheers Doc! Thank you for the good memories and laughs these last 10 years.
Important question for Doccy's watch though - Digital [08:00] or Analog ⌚? I feel analog clocks are falling out of fashion but you never know when you'll need to read one

You can add a Dunk Tank by the Roller Coaster and use the statues mod to make it a "Dunk the Hermit" game. Paying 1 diamond for X number of snowballs they can throw at a target block to dunk the Hermit, or pay a diamond block to rotate to the next Hermit.
If you want to do a redstone shooting gallery, you might be able to use sticky pistons to raise blockers from below to block random targets.
Also the Bricks shop is WellsKnight's shop.
Roller coasters often have a sign at the entrance that says “you must be at least this tall to ride” with a cutout people can compare themselves to. I reckon it would be funny to do one that says ‘you must be taller than this to ride’ and have a bdubs armour stand.
Doc: Since minecarts with player can trespass nether portals, you can place portals at different heights to build a roller coaster without golden rails at all!. At the very beggining one portal to the nether, another portal at minimum distance, then return to overworld thru a portal placed on top of building height, and all the rest of the roller coaster down and down!
Doc, If I were you I would go check out the mushroom build at False's place. It suspiciously has Diamond Ore used in the build. Ore snatcher found?
I think the rollercoaster ties the whole area together nicely! I miss the messiness of the old shopping districts, they were super compact and feature packed! without some connecting bits it looks just like plots without any synergy

A fun carnivalish way to make payment for the rail shop inconvenient but very well themed is to make the payment "tickets" that have to be bought with diamonds. So they get maybe a bundle of tickets for a diamond or diamond block and each of the rails cost a different number of tickets. Could even perhaps make the roller coaster cost a ticket to ride too. ;)
oh for the lawsuit against mumbo you schould use the fact that he ALWAYS moves he never sits still, you can use it against him saying like hes nervous and cant even sit still (ofc you have to sit still then)

Lore wise, the roller coaster is constructed with the goal of being dismantled and reassembled at different locations. From a technical perspective, it could be considered a pop-up store. Perhaps the Poe-Poe should take a look at this?

Love the coaster Doc. I can hardly believe that just that 1 powered rail gave you enough to climb that next section. The only thing I'd suggest is where the ride all but comes to a stop I'd add 1 powered rail at the end to send you flying back to base. It might also insure everyone can make the circuit without stalling.
Imagine making a christmas market on the server! You could even sell Glühwein with custom food models!
Doc, make sure you hold onto Doccy's Duplos! They are compatible with Lego's standard brick, making building taller things easier!
Rollercoaster needs some redstoner sfx - fireworks, sounds, pistons suddenly clearing a way!
You could add a popcorn cart and someone selling cotton candy to the fair ground with armor stands. Maybe some other food you find at such a place as well. Or one of those ring toss games where the odds are always against you

if you switch the item frames on the wagon into the glowing item frames, then the lights will look even better at night - constantly bright. You could also add some alternating lamps hidden deep underground (~10 blocks or so), under green and moss carpets and hook them up to a clock - would also add to the atmosphere during the night!
