I was a big fan of her but I feel like she’s been lying all of the time. I’m sure this “vulnerable and honest” moment is just a new way to say “hey I’m opening a new cosmetic brand soon. It’s a little too late coz Kayley already lost her brand. Marlena already lost makeup geek. Morphe suddenly closed down many stores leaving the workers unemployed.
I’m a marketing director for very large brands. The market is very saturated for jewelry and skincare at the moment. Makeup is actually doing good still.
you can be successful in an oversaturated market, people have been doing it for years. With Jaclyn i believe she just did not do enough research on the jewelry industry. Aaliyah Jay's jewelry line has been doing fine but that's because Aaliyah is known for fashion and beauty and loves to accessorize, she knows how to push jewelry to her following. Jaclyn on the other hand, i believe she got lost trying to succeed in something that was out of her element, which resulted in the poor sales for her.

Exactly! And I’m willing to bet that the reason she’s saying stuff along the lines of “I didn’t support my brand being at Ulta because I was too depressed and felt like a failure,etc” is because Forma is getting ready to sue for breach of contract. She was supposed to be the “pusher” for the brand especially while it was at Ulta. She was not the CEO, CFO, owner, she was the “pusher” and didn’t even want to do that.

This is what I have been saying. I wish that Kalyn HAD fought her for Koze. Kalyn said she had lawyers telling her she would win the case and it wouldn’t cost her anything? Great! DO IT. I know you don’t want to, I wouldn’t either because it's also not my personality, but this is how the villains gain power. DO NOT allow someone to take advantage of your good nature. You need to stand up for yourself when it's the right thing to do, as uncomfortable as it may be. There is no reason to sacrifice all of your hard work over to someone like Jaclyn if you don’t have to.
I wish she would have fought for what she invested so much love and life into. Now Koze has just died out completely, and that's the real tragedy. It meant so much to Kalyn and now nobody has it.

"took inspiration" (copied a whole jewelry line & did a crap job at copying them). At his point I'm surprised she hasn't let all that grease go to her head and tried to release a "revolutionary" burrito she's been working on for 4 yrs 🙄

Even in this video you still aren’t owning up to the fact that you aren’t the owner/CEO of Jaclyn Cosmetics, you haven’t apologised to Kalyn for how you hurt her business and you still are yet to tell the truth about the lipsticks. There is still hope for you if you can only tell the truth.
Agreed! As a contract lawyer, I'm sure there are many legal reasons she can't share the whole truth. But at the end of the day, many of those lawyers are also hired by her and work FOR her, so she should be able to use their help and see how much she can truthfully disclose. As you point out, however, the real issue here is that she still doesn't seem to appreciate the important of full and honest disclosure.
The bare minimum steps needed for redemption must include a public apology to Kalyn, and Jaclyn should cover
100% of the fees for Kalyn’s unanticipated rebrand of All Things Koze.

Essay incoming: People saying “don’t shut down your cosmetic line” she doesn’t have a say in the matter. She is not the actual owner. 😂 That’s why she “doesn’t know what will happen” to it. That’s probably the one honest thing she said the whole video. She’s only a contributor and she owns the trademark and licensed it to Forma.
She does not care about anyone but herself - which is obvious by saying her biggest regret in life is giving up on herself and her little girl dream? How about betraying your followers and putting mold on their lips and lying about it? Or how about stealing a brand from another creator only to throw it away 9 months later? As someone who followed Jaclyn for years I can’t believe anything she says anymore. If you follow her behavior it’s the same time and time again. She took zero accountability here… she doesn’t own Jaclyn cosmetics, morphe does and they went bankrupt, which is why Jaclyn Cosmetics is basically no longer. Jaclyn Cosmetics still very much exists and is being sold at Ulta. It’s both in stores and online.
@@jonigomes9023 Some Ulta stores are no longer carrying it. In fact some of them even have her makeup on a sale because they are about to stop carrying it. You have to pay attention to whats happening, not just whats online or in stores. Products can be in store one day and out the next.

That lipstick launch was in fact her legacy. When you don’t know what you’re doing, it shows and when you treat other brands so cruel, that shows your character.
She traded trust, loyalty, and favor for greed. Greed is the reason why her makeup launch failed. She knew not to use that facility- others warned her, but because the pricing was cheapest when chose to use it anyway.
JUSTICE FOR KALYN. The only way to rectify that is to sign over the trademark to her. It's the right thing to do.

That’s not an accurate statement. A CEO is an employee of the company, hired by the owners to run the company. The owners can shut it down at any time. Ie Jaclyn.

I'm new to this drama and I didn't know about this whole Koze brand situation because not only do I not buy from Jaclyn, but I don't know who the other girl Kalyn is. From reading the comments, I've seen that people are saying that Kalyn has been doing Koze for FIVE years now and that she had a loyal fan base and that her stuff was always sold out because it was popular amongst her fans. Trademarking a brand that is your LIVELIHOOD and PASSION is business 101. It's be bare basic common sense of business. It's not expensive to trademark something. ESPECIALLY if this brand is feeding your family. Why wouldn't she have spent the money from a few orders and trademark the name to protect herself? It's such basic common sense. Agreed! I was so excited for her first palette drop but I noticed immediately after that her attitude change. She became more of a salesman than a beauty influencer. I don’t think I’ve ever left a negative comment before but I feel strongly that while you’re taking accountability and that’s a good thing and didn’t research the name of one of your brands, the other creator is not a “small” creator and has over 1M followers and said they reached out to you not the other way around BEFORE you launched and didn’t get a response. That person experienced a lot of personal pain because they were not able to continue producing content and selling merchandise under that name any longer that they had used for years and that’s just not right. To new beginnings for everyone.
That's why I don't believe anything she says in this video. If she really wants to take accountability she needs to be truly honest and admit she has not been kind to others. She never reached out to kaitlyn the original koze owner... As a matter of fact she posted a nasty video in response that was of Jacilyn adding Koze brand owner to her instagram account and she also made that "at least they trademarked it" joke in a video a few months back almost mocking the poor girl for not trademarking it. Not to mention this girl had to completely rebrand and now it was all for nothing cause Jacilyn decided she doesn't want the name anymore. Sounds like something someone very entitled does.

As someone who runs my own business, I hate feeling like a salesman too. HATE it. But we have to do it to survive. We all have to make money. We all need someone to buy in to whatever it is we are selling. Even if we aren’t self-employed. Your employer has to buy in to what you’re offering. We have to function this way in order to live. We live in a capitalist society. And if you don’t want to have a boss but be your own, we HAVE to make sales pitches. We have to convince people to spend money in order for us to pay our bills. I’m not a die hard Jaclyn can but I understand where she’s coming from. It sounds contradictory but you can hate something while simultaneously being aware that it’s just how it has to be.
