    I love using a corner trowel. Once you get one broken in, kinda like getting a plaster trowel broken in. It's all angle and pressure. Over time it gets easier and better to use. But I also do them the way you do. I like both techniques. Once you have the corner trowel broken in, you can coat the angle and feather the edge in one stroke. But yea, they can be a pain till you have them broke in. And breaking them in don't happen in a week. Great vid. Keep it up.

    Glad to see you doing better & have enjoyed how you're educating the public about the trade.
    I've not seen you talk about the "other" tapes available- "Straight Flex","No-coat"325/425,ect.... I've been doing drywall since 1975 from California to NC & I used the PVC tape on angle/inside corners up to 10' long most of the time since you can run a corner in one trip without waiting on the day+ dry time, it also provides a "very" straight corner/angle if the drywall/framing work is less than perfect. It's ideal for the novice finisher & it's really hard to burn if sanded too much by a rookie. It may cost more & you need to pre-cut but that ends up being a production advantage by cutting many pcs. & standing them in the corners. They take less compound too as you only coat the outer edge on the 2nd coat. It's also my tape of choice in high humid or constantly wet areas where delamination often occurs.Also I've never heard you talk about "Rucco"mud by Southern products-IMO the best mud/joint compound made! using a small shot of dawn to a mixed bucket prolongs the shelf life of the mud by months & makes smoother- easier to sand joints instead of straight water for thinning.
    I got retired due to cancer & brain fog from chemo & radiation treatments too.

    Not bad sir,curious why you only show doing one side,a very common problem for diyers is not recking the opposing ( allready) mudded corner.I am self taught but always ready/willing to learn smart tips and better ways of doing things. I do use a corner trowel but never to lay on the mud, its a variation and also agree that only 1 coat is needed for inside corners-ha,ha yankee term maybe?-or ( angles) Good to see a pro teaching instead of a learner teaching another learner like many other y.t vids. Out there on stuff. God bless and keep up the good work.

    Good video. I use mesh tape the smaller tighter looking tape and applicated both sides with a 4 then run the angle knife down and cut my edges with a six. Might have to run the angle knife again after the first run but its ready for touch up on the final day. Dont like that plus 3 though. You are very skilled and its an art what you do! Do you ever do both sides of angle in one day?
    Final swipe with the knife, did you tilt it up more instead of lowering the handle as you swipe like doing bedding coat?
    That was a little confusing to my old mind.
    Btw, I agree about the corner trowels. They give me a problem.

    • @ThatKiltedGuyDIY
      @ThatKiltedGuyDIY  5 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve done both sides of the angles in one day but you pretty much always have some gouges right in the inside part to fix so it’s far from perfect. I’m not sure on the angle I would have to watch myself because I just do it from muscle memory

    • @rickeykeeton4770
      @rickeykeeton4770 5 месяцев назад

      @@ThatKiltedGuyDIY I understand the muscle memory comment.
      These two corners worked down pretty good.
      If I need to, I might just use a very little bit of caulk where the walls intersect.
      Actually, I think I might get by without having to do that using a sanding sponge and a little bit of chipping the high spots.
