Another video of that great concert done in Owen, Germany back in 1995. Wonderful stuff! For more info on this great Christian gothic band go to www.saviourmachine.com
This band is so wonderfull, I was ..lets say misguided a lot with buddism and i don't know what. Then I heard them I hardley couldn't breathe and then I choose again for God thank you Eric for your amazing voice and the band for the sound, Jesus rules and God almighty is so cool, we really don't serve a boring God but a loving and rocking God
wow i have never heard of these guys before until today and they sound awesome I'm a Christian Goth but i have never heard of Christian Goth music before until today and im so happy that i found it :)
Saviour machine was a huge influence to me growing up in my late teen/early twenties. Eric is a really nice guy and we've chatted on numerous occasions. He's inspired me in how one should conduct themselves when replying to fans of my art. Awesome guy. My favourite Christians bands were/are Saviour Machine, The Wedding Party (Also really nice respectful people) The Violet Burning, P.O.D, Seventh Angel, and Eli. I think the common theme in all these bands had passion. Not common in CCM imo
Unto the Gods I call your name The crucifixion of my brain As I wait for you Into the field, I've lost my way I've opened veins just for the day As I wait for you The thoughts that linger in my head They cry out for the dead As they wait for you Call my name, Call my name Into the Carnival of Souls Surrendered to the fight They dance upon the edge They dance upon the night To wake up in the dark And find they've lost their way Their way back to the door Their way back to the light I've opened doors, I've opened minds I've opened yours a thousand times As I wait for you I've fought the battle from the start I've opened sores inside my heart It bleeds without remorse The thought that linger in my head They cry out for the dead As they wait for you Call my name, Call my name Into the Carnival of Souls Surrendered to the fight They dance upon the edge They dance upon the night To wake up in the dark And find they've lost their way Their way back to the door Their way back to the light
I am by no means a religious person. I grew up in Catholic family, church, school, etc. However, I absolutely love Eric and Saviour Machine. I don't have to be religious to enjoy this music and neither should anyone else...so everyone be quiet and enjoy the music no matter your faith (if any)...I was lucky enough to discover Eric through Ayreon, so thank you Arjen.
Wow! I started listening to Saviour Machine after I heard Clayton sing on AYREON's 'The Human Equation'. This is a great band, I should really look for some albums.
I totally agree with you! I'm so sick of people saying "Oh, I'm aetheist, but I like this song." People always take the value of music for granted. It's not just how it sounds, but what it means that makes it a great song.
one of my favorite songs by the band.... i was priveledged enough to get to hang out with eric clayton one time at his home. hes a very sweet and kind man. i was very impressed. eva o was there too... she is also a wonderful lady. the new saviour machine stuff is amazing.
His music more describes the struggle between the flesh and the spirit than most christian music. There is joy in Christ but anyone of faith knows faith is painful but with it many rewards
I had discovered Eric through Ayreon. I'm orthodox, but it's not important. There's only one God. And I listen to this band because of his voice and the progressive parts.
being orthodox is importan t because is the only and one authentic catholic and apostolic church that holds the whole truth about belief in the only true God the Father and His son Jsus Christ along with the Holy Spirit, the only true One and triadic God. I have to admitt though that good people exist every where, and hope that Jesus Christ saves them all!
I know Saviour Machine through Ayreon, Eric sung on The Human Equation. Great album, so check it out! I'm a Catholic, and love all metal, including black metal, but it's always good to have some (good) Christian metal out there as well.

A letra desta canção soa como uma oração desesperada pela presença de Deus. É de arrepiar.
For another Prog-Doom christian metal band with goth influences, try VENI DOMINE out of Sweden. Feel free to check out "HEALERS FACE" by VENI DOMINE on MetalCrossTV. I think you'll like it. Keep ROCKING FOR THE KING!
I love the song. Jeff Clayton pipes in to the life force of above, with that solo, can you feel it?! That is the best way to say it. I would like to see him do a solo LP some time. Some times you can reach more people on your own.
Band is good. This guys voice is awesome.. From the few songs I've heard I imagined the band doing a kind of christian/gothic rock opera. Have they ever done that kind of thing? I don't have to agree with their brand of Christianity to enjoy what I've heard so far.
I recently found solace within the arms of God after having been opposed to religion for a while. Great to see there are fellow Goths to share in faith with. When I think of all the wasted time being opposed to something when I could have been embracing it. This may sound cliché, but I honestly believe it was God who changed my heart for the better. Jesus didn't preach hate. He preached love and acceptance. If you have a good heart then you are within the favor of God regardless of your race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. These things don't matter. The only thing God cares about are your actions. Do good and good will come of it, even if only at the end.
+8bit_V4mp1r3 Nice. The only thing i disagree with is that "the only thing that God care about are your actions". Personally i think good actions comes not from our selves. you know? I think the belief in Him is the most important thing, and to be baptized in order to receive His Spirit. His Spirit changes us and actions will follow. Also i disagree about that sexual orientation doenst metter. Of course, i think He loves all people but it doenst mean we have to stay in those stuff.
I don't think it is a sin to be homosexual but to have homosexual thoughts and practice homosexuality. Jesus said marriage is between a man and a woman, the Bible says it is adultery to have sex before marriage.
It is also not just about doing good and having a good heart. If that is the case then Jesus died for nothing. Good works don't save you. Doing rituals don't save you. Jesus saves you and only God can change the heart not you or any man or any thing you do.
Pretty powerful song, I like it. Eric Clayton definitely sings with all his heart in this. :) I think Saviour Machine really believes in what it sings about even though many people would just say its another goth metal band. Actually its more rock opera i think, which is cool.
Dude, fucking awesome. What I'm actually surprised at, though, is that I like a singer who uses a headset instead of a mic stand. Don't see that very much in metal. He does it well. He was also very very very good as the voice of Reason in Ayreon's The Human Equation.
It was the holy spirit made you feel this way. He loves you and wanna conect with you in spirit, and wanna fulfil you with his own spirit. No matter where you at or what you did Jesus died for you. And wanna make you a better person, and make you borm again(not reincarnation) You are precious for him and understand all off your problems. And also he give every good thing, not for taking away. Its not a prison. Its freedom. He not gonna force himself on you. He comes if you choose and ask him. A born Again Christian comes from occultism. He is eager to help. Let him.
I think your question is actually two questions in one. 1. How do we know which higher power is the one we should be following? 2. How do we know that we can trust it once we've found it? 1. The same way you find find out the truth about anything in the world. Follow the evidence. Examine and question, but don't become shut off to the possibility of an answer. 2. I would argue that the power's track record in the lives of those who follow it would be the best indicator.
That's what I tried to say. I was asked, why I dislike the lyrics, and I answered. The last one just was a kind of expansion. And I'm not going to post here anymore.
There are others too, if you just type in the genre that you like... for example, christian power metal. You'll find aload of videos that have compiled a list of different bands in said genre. Hope that helps :-D God bless!
@InuRyutheDiegron Hmm, I really like your take. It is absolutely true. No "religion" (I use that term lightly) has been persecuted, opposed and hated more than Judaism and Christianity. Satan is the prince of this world, and so even common sense should reveal that what the world opposes is likely the very thing which is truth.
This band is so wonderfull, I was ..lets say misguided a lot with buddism and i don't know what.

Another Christian Goth band is 'Virgin Black'.

Batzz in the Belfry is another Christian goth band.

They dance upon the night
To wake up in the dark
And find they've lost their way
Their way back to the door
Their way back to the light
I've opened doors, I've opened minds
I've opened yours a thousand times
As I wait for you
I've fought the battle from the start
I've opened sores inside my heart
It bleeds without remorse
The thought that linger in my head
They cry out for the dead
As they wait for you
Call my name, Call my name
Into the Carnival of Souls
Surrendered to the fight
They dance upon the edge
They dance upon the night
To wake up in the dark
And find they've lost their way

Carnival of souls has always been my favorite when im feeling at my lowest - pulled me through a lot of rough times -
Eric Clayton has such a gorgeous voice...
Nathaniel Byers I agree ❤
who knew Dr Manhattan sings so well
Agreed. What an amazing instrument!
Wonderful
One of my favorite dark metal bands. I like them as much as I like Black Sabbath.
Amazing. Sound better live than 98% of any gothic band out there.

I've felt it was almost like God saying that He longs for his creation to come back to Him.
Great to see that there's some live material from Saviour Machine. Love this band, seen them live in Holland in the 90's. (I think Gouda or Zwolle)
After 15 years I ask everyone to listen to the opening credits of Silence Of The Lambs...

Try Narnia and Seventh Avenue for Power Metal.
Why? If a higher power is anyone or anything that is more capable then yourself, then is makes perfect sense to defer to it.
