when I create a new solid and camera and then scale it up at the end, it begins to warp out of shape as it begins to cover the frame. this is making my outline warp with the solid comp layer. I tried matching the comp settings of the solid to the original and it still warps out of shape when scaled. I should note that the solid comp settings look perfect when scaled down. any help?

Damn was hyped to do this tutorial but then was required to download a plugin. It's probably just me but that was a huge turn-off. For someone who is a complete noob to After effects, I'd prefer to learn the capabilities of the program before I start relying on or working within plugins. But this is a great video and still learned a few things. I just think this video wasn't made for me and was aimed more at those that have some experience with After effects.
1 year later but I agree. Most of Huang's "tutorials" seem to always end up being "buy my effects pack and then place it in the background." I want to know HOW to make those effects, not just how to insert premade ones. No one's gonna hire you if all you know how to do is use other peoples' effects packs.

Auto trace is insanely useful and helpful! You're not wrong, once I learned about auto trace it really did change the way I did everything in AE.
