How to keep birds and possums out of fruit trees. What works and what doesn’t?

A neighbor was going to cut sugar maple down because of the birds. Someone told him about the snake. He used broken belts, it worked.

Found that hummingbirds manage to sneak in the larger trees

In the base of the try placed dead snake or bird
That is the best way to keep birds out
It work for me and my fig trees
