Gardening and home hints to build self sufficiency
What happens if you grow hybrid seeds?
SOMETIMES growing seeds from fruit and vegetables you’ve bought from the supermarket or green grocer can give you good results. But MOST OF THE TIME, you’ll get a throwback like in this video. So be mindful that you may not get what you hoped for and the resultant fruit may be sub-standard in a number of ways. PARTICULARLY be careful of random seeds found in “seedless” varieties - they are almost always hybrids.

It's a no brainer to use these jars. Our stores offer them empty in fall, and they cost 1 euro empty. The button is only an indicator. The air pressure will push down even flat lids. You cans see an indentation if you look carefully with a flat ruler. They take an effort to open and may pop. Only some mass produced goods come with a button in our stores.
Thanks for the tips! Mine two year old tree is now flowering for the first time. I notice that your tree is staked. I yanked the stake out of mine this year only to have the tree tilt to one side and I had to re-stake it. Do you know how to encourage stronger root and trunk growth? I think I may have allowed my tree to get a bit top-heavy and I need to prune some branches back this winter.
Why not just wet the potting mix then pour the seeds on top?
I love your videos.
Do you keep them outside ?
Thanks! Just the Thing!
I've had a win using your handy tip, what I did was mixed the salts with water and poured it down the deep root watering tubes.
Thank you for this information. I'm going to try this.
Thank you for this video. Might this also be the problem with my pomegranate tree as well?
Thank you!
You should partner with someone and/or publish results. So sick of pseudo science getting traction when it's typically because the average person can't get ahold of published results of experiments like this.
NPK numbers would be helpful
My beets are the size of baseballs, did I wait too long to harvest?" THX
I love this natural remedy. Thank you!!
Mine are tiny
I wonder if electroculture just helps the CDC (cation exchange capacity) which helps with water and nutrient uptake in relation to plant growth.
Thanks Beck! Can you please tell me how to get the seal to ‘pop down’ on the recycled jars? I saw your other videos on using recycled jar and the over flow canning method with the fruit, but how does it work with jams? Thanks ☺️
Wonderful! So simple and yet so tasty 😘 I made both the sweet and non- sweet varieties, cut them into small portions and froze them. I live alone so this is perfect for me when I’m in a hurry I can just thaw a portion on the bench top and bake something. Thank you!
The number one nutrient you can put in your soil is worm castings you’re doing it you just saying it wrong
Different types have a season….so it may have just been then end of you aphid season. I’ll try it, but I don’t think it was the thyme.
Thank u very much for this information! A BIG help👍😁
Yes a lot better ❤
Is the thyme still helping?
horribly basic and misinformative.. it could equally be low iron, low nitrogen, off ph, etc..
Question... Do you think this will work for potted plants? Because you still have to take care of the soil yourself (in terms of putting nutrients back into it by hand since its in a pot in an apartment building and not directly to the ground )
Please can l put it inside refrigerator
Very helpful for broccoli beginners, thanks!
I live in the UK where it rains a lot. My Lemon tree has yellow leaves and some of the leaves are curling inwards. It’s not an old tree. It’s currently growing in a pot. I’m going to try the Epsom salts you suggested for the yellowing but why are the leaves curling up? I have just discovered your channel and I love the clear and simple way you explained this ❤
Did it work I have the same issues leaves turning yellow and curls after heavy rain few days ago
@@Pannelpigprob root rot.
it naturally occurs even without and antenna so it does work and every farmer knows it takes good grow dirt to grow
Thank you for a very informative information in a short time. I appreciate it
Thanks Beck, simply made with clear instructions and simply delicious. Thank you❤
Definitely will try this year
Any update?
Awesome! Thank you!
Wow that was awesome! Thank you for sharing this knowledge! It totally makes sense too! It's like the momma plant makes lil runners to make baby plants then when it's ready you cut the umbilical runner cord !! 😅 Question : after cut from the self rooted baby plants, do the runners continue to try to sprout new plants which eventually can be replanted like before?
This is an ancient trick that my ancestors used, and I think they used it in the Babylonian gardens You take green leaf plants back in 3/4 and 5 gallon bucket Take human pee from you, your husband and your children because our body is extract different vitamins and minerals from our bodies and extracted extracted in our stuff that we don’t use from our food So each family member can contribute a certain amount, and this will give a wide variety of minerals and vitamins He has a high pH scientifically pH acid So the pH and breaks down the leaves that are green and full of hydrogen When you’re done, you’ll have 100% hydrogen now you gotta let it out in the sunlight for two weeks Then you take 1 gallon of freshwater filtered rainwater is what I mean by freshwater river water works if it’s a clean source Then you add one cup to each gallon. Your plants will grow bigger, faster and stronger with your compost and use chicken farming like I said, or chicken tractors as they called down south, where some of my ancestors come from.
No matter what kind of farming you do you need to introduce your chickens to your garden patch put up some chicken wire around it and then open up the chicken wire and put your chickens in there so they stay in one area and they’ll go around pick up the bugs and they’ll poop and pee and have a great dayput some water out there for them to have but other than that they’ll pretty much take their dirt baths and find every little bug you have out there and they’ll also scratch the soil. This add air to it.
I completely agree with you, and thank you very much for the wonderful and simple explanation
Thanks heaps Beck for this video very informative Have just made my first batch and we love them Great to see an aussie homesteading
What mulch do you use?
Wear disposable gloves😊
It's too bad you grew in different pots. No doubt Terracotta grows better. I do think this is a crap pseudoscience thing tho.
Absolutely genius .😃 I honestly never thought of doing that what a wonderful and easy and cheap way to dry your herbs. 😃🙂 I wonder if this would work for kale and collard green leaves as well. 🤔🤔 Everyone has some type of metal or stainless steel metal bowls just like this . 🤔😃 I personally have so many different sizes of these types of bowls even one that is extremely huge. 🤔🤔 The only thing is where I live there is a lot of wind. 😮 I would have to place a type of mesh on the tops of it to stop the herbs from flying away. 🤔 I wonder if that would make a difference in drawing the herbs. 🤔 I also grow a lot of collard greens and kale as well as cabbage will see if it would work for that as well. 🤔 I also heard that you can cook with aluminum foil in a cardboard box. 🤔 I wonder if you can dry herbs and vegetables that way as well. 🤔 I absolutely love learning new and cheaper ways to save on time and money. 😍 Thank you. And God bless America and each and every person in the world and all the poor innocent animals.
I have a question. Would you think that if using in ground (not post) would you suggest if we want to try to maybe put the copper in the ground from March to September only, then remove from October to February from for soil/plants to let them all rest over the winter, but also add compost/manure/mulch etc as I would normally over winter?
Terra cotta pot and white fibreglass pots are not EQUAL, no wonder you don’t have good results! Natural terra cotta vs chemical toxic fibreglass 🙄
Exactly what I was looking. Going to be jarring this summer and though of this idea of reusing jars BC why not?! Also trying to get into the habit of cleaning and reusing plastic containers for storage. Seems like we waste such good reusable items without even thinking about it. Thanks again.
I’m confused, Eason Salt is not magnesium but a magnesium sulfate. That’s not the same thing.
It's water soluble and separates when wet
Impressive. Are you still into electroculture?
Darn. Maybe a better result if they are organic....?
Great, thanks.
Smart. Thank you.
