I’m old, and was lucky enough to been one of the few who saw this in a theater when is came out. It is now always one of my 31 days of horror movies in October.

I never saw it in theaters. The first time I saw it was streaming on Netflix around 11 years ago. It’s criminally unknown. It’s “Ghost Ship”, only good. Everything about it excels at building creepiness and tension. You don’t know if what they are seeing and hearing is real, or effects of the situation or hypoxia. Yeah, you see ghosts…but those could easily be hallucinations for a large portion of the running time. It’s like the game “Man of Medan”. Is it real? Until the mirror scene, I actually wasn’t sure. Heck, it could still be unreal after that. The cast is excellent. It’s a real shame virtually no one knows this movie exists.

You guys absolutely rock. It’s so refreshing to see two people who are genuine friends, enjoying themselves making a video review. I could watch you guys review paint drying

I've known about this film for a little while now and am so happy you guys are bringing it to more people's attention!
A great ghost story with wonderful, creepy tension (though the few jumpscares can be hit or miss at times, in my opinion), a compelling story and a great cast. I personally really liked the fact that when it was all over you could essentially choose whether it was real or not. A stretched rational approach over the obvious supernatural explanation. I hope more people seek this one out, because it definitely doesn't deserve to sink to the depths of forgotten flicks!

I thought the 'sleeping ghost' might be a sidelong reference to the F. Marion Crawford ghost story "The Upper Berth". Ought to re-watch this movie, it's been >20 years for me!

A Belated Merry New Year to you guys from us! Another solid review! When you both are able, hopefully, you will review more forgotten or lesser known gems (or weird ones) along with the more famous ones. If you like some more recommendations, (caution as always because some of these can be painful to watch - in more ways than one - and no, no Neil Breen to be found among them.... yet) I recommend: "The Stoning of Soraya M" (2009); "The Apple" (1980); "Morozko" (1964); "Ben Hur" (1959); "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975); "Carrie" (1976); "Uncle Buck" (1989); "Krull" (1983); "Phantom of the Paradise" (1974); "The Boy who could Fly" (1986) - just for a sample. :)

I have very vague memories of watching this years ago, either I rented it from Blockbuster or caught it on TV at sometime. I loved it then, pretty much forgot it and now I can look it up again! Thanks guys!
AlsoI feel this would be a good double feature with Event Horizen.

I remember watching this movie as a kid. Haha, so many hot men and bad CGI. There is also a movie of the same era, that I can not remember the name of, but it is about pilots of a WWII plane not being able to find an airport only to realize they are stuck in some Bermuda Triangle

It has a good premise and setting, being nowhere in the middle of the sea while ww2 is happening is already terrifying, now add a paranormal thing causing paranoia, and you end with a good suspense scary movie

That Star Trek reference did not go noticed Gary... it was not in vein. Idk why it bothered me that Ian didn't laugh at it but here I am commenting on it lol.

This movie is unknown, which is a shame. Because it’s FAR better than “Ghost Ship”, which, aside from Karl Urban, is your typical “haunted gore fest” schlock. This movie actually has suspense, and a genuinely creepy and spooky atmosphere and elements. The sounds, paranoia, and jump scares work so well to ratchet up and explode the released tension.

I like this movie. The effects are dodgy, but it's a decent genre mix up of ghost story and war movie. I saw it in the theater. The sound design was great, and some shots were incredible on the big screen. Bob Weinstein f**ked this movie like so many others around this time like Gilliam's Brother's Grim.
