Been playing it over the last few weeks and its been amazing, netcode is a bit up and down though. Leveling is great and favors those who put more hours in. It's not too difficult to unlock characters. 69 hours in :D as the time of this comment.
It still has a ton of corner peeking, so it's still just a bunch of camping. Camp or flank, if you're hiding around a corner looking at enemies, it's a bad game. Enemies shouldn't be rendered unless your character can see them.
@@Parker-- you do know if someone is in sound distance the game highlights them. So if you actually moved stealthily you would never get the marked trait. Also it's a team game, team strategy trumps camping, flanking is tactical.
@@unadultratedtrini Can you keep your character behind a wall hidden from sight and then still see people on the other side of the wall? Cool. It's a team game in third person, so a team of equal skill camping trumps flanking because they can see them flanking around corners they shouldn't be able to see.
@Parker some characters have invisibility and silence, also the ability to become unmarked for a short period. You should read the characters more. Lots of games played and have been flanked and have flanked teams.
This game was originally co-developed by Wargaming (i mean guys behind World of Tanks) and 1C. 1C was a big Russian Dev and Publisher company back in a day. Now they are much smaller, and Wargaming is no longer develop Caliber, but i dunno if it's truly "small scale".
AAA studios decided pushing agendas in their games was more important than making good games. Blame DARPA. Another victim of a propaganda apparatus run amok.
One thing I really appreciate about Caliber is that the PvE modes aren't just PvP with bots instead of players. Each PvE mode is a unique, objective based experience where you're working through a map, clearing objectives as you go along. So it caters to all types of players, not just PvP sweats.
All systems have flaws, just because something worked well doesn't mean the flaws should be ignored. there is a game that has gotten rid of the biggest gripe many have with 3ps and its called scum. In scum you can only see a player that your character can see, if your character cant see the player then they will be invisible on your screen.
I've been watching your videos for like 10 years and I just got my first PC. Now I can download games like this and I couldn't be more excited. Added Caliber to the long list of games I now have to try 😊

As a long-time Medal of Honor Warfighter fan who even bought the Task Force Atlas (MOHW multiplayer faction) patch to go with my replica LEAF Minotaur combat shirt in airsoft games, the gear for operators are surprisingly accurate: SEALs wear Crye G2 combat shirts & pants in AOR1 camo that are signature for early 2010s, same as in MOHW & Zero Dark Thirty and thus my favorite combat shirt type. Even got those cowboy belts that can be seen in SEAL photos, no that tactical but certainly signature to the team guys. And for the legendary set they surprised me even more, in the blog on their site they explicitly mark the gear pieces as PCU L7 jacket and Asolo FSN 95 shoes and such, the exact model used by the SEAL guys in real life to the brand names! What a great sight to see when the era is full of those cringey hero-shooter style designs that are nowhere tactical... I have to try it out later when I am not this busy.
I hope this is successful enough to maybe get a cross-platform release later down the line because there is a lack of Third Person tactical shooters right now.
Caliber is pretty fun. It's basically Ghost Recon Phantoms / SOCOM, but as a modern game. I have no clue why shooter fans are sleeping on this one, especially when it has no P2W to speak of. Shouldn't we be supporting games like this? Or has everyone just gotten use to the same copy/paste generic CoD clones that keep coming out? I hope not.
Caliber reminds of the single greatest franchise in the history of “tactical shooters”… SOCOM. SOCOM was, and still is, the pinnacle of tactical shooters, full stop. I have been hoping for a reboot of the original, but until then, Caliber ticks a lot of boxes. I understand that younger generations likely haven’t ever been exposed to SOCOM and that a fine, but I personally feel like everyone should be aware of the game that started it all. Without SOCOM we may have been waiting a long time to get a competitive online shooter for console. SOCOM was the first console game to offer online multiplayer and it did so almost a full 2 years before Halo did it in their 2nd iteration. It completely changed the gaming landscape forever and it pains me to think that so many people have forgotten about it. I honestly believe that if there were to be a full reboot of SOCOM for the modern gaming world, it would take over the top spot within weeks. I’m tired of jet packs, laser beams, force fields, zero penalties to accuracy when jumping/sliding/sprinting/etc., taking 20 shots to down an enemy and on and on… I want SOCOM 2024 damn it
It's so good to see this game getting the credit it seems to deserve. I discovered it almost 2 years ago. And ever since then been praying for it to come to console. The aesthetics, the operators design! 😍(back then it had less hud tho, kinda preferred that way). And well, everything else that is just yet another proof that independent devs keep over and over again making better games than triple A studios. - if the devs are reading this, please please please, bring to console one day..
