East is a pretty solid team, just the week before they played De La Salle they played Pulaski Academy(the team that never punts) who was on a 30 game winning streak and beat them by multiple TDs.
No east was not top 50 before the de la salle match up. De la salle was definetely a much more historic win for east than pulaski, but both were awesome games.

Looked on Maxpreps and East wasn't top 50 but they were top 100. After the win they jumped to #32

DLS future state championships in the next two years will be forged on the anvil of this year's defeats. This is a young squad that has a lot of growing to do and will grow. In the meantime, East was a good, physical team, kind of like a Grant physically with Del Oro/Granite Bay fundamentals.

+Good job inc. I'll give you Centennial this year, definitely! Shootout with college team IMG earlier this year should have them battle tested and ready to get past Bosco and then MD this year. If DLS and Centennial meet, this year is going to Centennial. But next year, DLS will have the experience (they are starting a lot of sophs and juniors this year) and it will be much more interesting.

I’m not from Utah but I moved to Utah for school and I played for East. This win had touched many of our hearts and I would remember this forever.

East is a full poly team so wouldn't be surprised if they went undefeated that whole year and beat springville For their final game and they were back to back state champs

they beat a pretty solid de la salle team in 2016, st john bosco beat de la salle bad the same year lol , prob a huge win for there program grats to them last year. And they went undefeated lol.
A couple of years ago De La Salle came to Texas and lost to an okay Euless Trinity team that did the same thing. Leaned on then with big bodies and ran the ball consistently all game. They were ranked 1 in the country when they lost.

This was the best East High Team hands down.
Everyone needs to remember that this is not a normal De La Salle team this year. East would have been completely destroyed by last years team. DLS is young and lost a ton of top talent to graduation. So if East can only win by one point on a last second field goal against a less than average DLS team, then that doesn't say much about Utah football. Let's see how East does against Bingham this year. DLS probably will get beat in the State game if it's Mater Dei or Bosco. Hopefully East will play DLS next year as well, and they will see what DLS can do with a year of development. If East played DLS this weekend they would get beat by at least two touchdowns minimum. That's how DLS can re-group in such a short time.

Honestly East football is amazing! We can beat Bingham! The Shocking part about playing DLS is that we killed there home game win streak! Utah football shows a lot especially a 39 yard field goal props to that kick Number 35 is a amazing kicker and the football team is glad we got him to play! Practice and Work hard and push through everything is what East shows! Even if DLS lost many talented players it would of been a good game to watch this year or even last year!

DLS just doesn't have that good of talent in the skilled positions as they had in previous years. Look at which colleges will sign scholarships to DLS players in QB, RB, WR, and TE. You will find very few in the Top Ten in division 1 football.

The week before this East beat the #1 team in Arkansas quite easily. We're still destroying every school they come across over here in utah. So state championship and undefeated season is pretty smooth sailing from here on out for us.
