It was for revenge just because he was working for Marlo and knowing he would've done what Chris and Snoop did. It had nothing to do with Brandon. He already got his revenge for that after getting Bird locked up and killing Stringer and Stinkum.
Also Savino didn't participate in the torture of Brandon. He just happened to be muscle working for Avon at the time
Savino also, if yall didn’t peep he turned his head and looked at Omar, no one knows what Omar looks like, for only a few do (brother M, slim Charles, prop Joe, fat man Rick, cheese 😂). But that’s cause he robs and kills those in the game, “people asking for it “ savino turning his head plus everything else on top of that. @@helmaroc259 Mike wanted to tell Marlo about Omar calling him out but Chris and snoop didn’t want to cause of them feeling he would crash out and it would have him lose focus. Given how Marlo uses fear as a weapon & a way to keep his reputation in tact …hearing Omar calling him out and circling around the hood throwing dirt on his name not only triggered him but it also made him felt weak too because “fear” the only thing he had in the streets.

Anybody notice the initial look on Mike's face as Omar pulled him down? He just knew he was about to meet his last breath 😂. The subtle things like that are one of the things that make this the best series ever in my opinion.
Lucky for him, Omar have a code and it's nighttime where they have a shootout. Probably didn't notice his face and thinks he's just another kid working some corners for Marlo.
Had a lot more to do with Mike’s sexual abuse by Bug’s dad and his trauma at being so close to an adult man, especially one who openly has sex with men.
Mike is often visibly uncomfortable around men and sexuality, and it’s really the only time he shows real fear or discomfort. The danger of the game doesn’t really faze him. Sometimes, the violence does, but only at first. By this time in the show, Mike don’t flinch.
The fact that he can’t even make eye contact with Omar shows that it’s so much more than fear for his life.
@ModicaSolis what you're saying makes sense but I just believe it was the thought of dying. Right after Omar left he mentioned he hoped Omar didn't recognize him from Monk's apartment. Then told Chris and Snoop he was trying to look away so Omar couldn't recognize him. Just my take on it though.
@@ModicaSolisthis is a fact and I say that because my older brother portrays Michael in the series and we’ve often had talks about how the underlying conflict between his character and being comfortable in proximity to adult males. That level of psychological complexity is what makes the wire such an iconic show

When Chris and Snoop missed Omar and were literally AMAZED at him getting away they finally knew with no doubt that Omar would take them down on his own with no partner and no vacants hiding their bodies at all. He’d display them publicly and smash any pride Marlo had in his group, name, and in his power. Chris was worried as hell about his family cause he completely understood Omar at this point. He seemed shocked that Snoop didn’t get it like he did when she suggested that they buy “ toys for his kids” because he knows they ain’t safe so his family definitely isn’t safe but, he forgets that he’s the brains of that duo. They didn’t tell Marlo what Mike told them cause Chris knew there was no coming back from that war. He knew he needed to regroup.
Man what could've been if Barksdale with his complete army against Marlo and in between, Omar's just lurking in the corner waiting for them to make a mistake 😅

Omar watched Savino, Monk, and WeeBey hunt for him back in Season 1 (burned his white van). So he knows that Savino would've blindly followed Marlo orders and 🔫 Butchie
It was a 50/50 situation for savino cause he knew savino was a Barksdale at first and most of them had codes but he remembered that brandon situation and did it savino didn’t really plead for his life either he just denied being apart of if it but if he had the chance to kill omar he would have cause Omar was in the game ! But savino died cause Omar was coming at most of them personal see he let the stash house people slide!

1:23 Savino turns to look Omar in the eyes as he tells him his name, hoping the eye contact will humanize him and save his life, but it backfired. Had he just been a random person in the game, he probably would have lived. But Omar resented Savino for switching from Avon's crew to Marlo's. It seemed personal to Omar.
Michael, on the other hand, kept his face away from Omar as to not be recognized, and that's why he was able to survive the encounter.
