Hi sir, I just came across your modules on salesforce training following your teachings... I am having a different page layout, after creating a lookup relationship, from the "Custom Contact Tab", as the child object...Now, trying to look it up, I clicked on the Custom Contact Tab, but it won't display the same page layout, with a lookup field, as yours, to link my relationship to an account ??...
Tanq so much ....I'm from science background...searched for a week for salesforce classes...but I didn't understand any of the class, bt ur the best, getting very easily best explanation, no words....ta🙏
Hey man you content is spot on! i am a beginner for the salesforce, you are my rock star, well presented and to precisely, keep it up, make more videos please. Thank you.
I'm speechless buddy after seeing the way you have explain with practical example. I must say all udemy course (I mean paid courses) are failed over it. Please make another part soon..!!
i just started learning about CRM FORCE with your video. Thank you very much for the lessons. please can you provide info on how to create the parent object PROJECT???
Nice video but you could have added few points things as well such as showing cascade delete, junction object with master detail relationship, limits of number of relationship per objects etc Overall nice and clearly explained video
This is a terrific video! Thank you for the time and effort you put into making this such an informative and easy-to-follow guide on relationships. Is it possible to create a Master-Detail Relationship within Contract Records? That is, if I have a Contract Record that is a Master Services Agreement (MSA), can it be treated as the "Parent" to Contract Records of various Statement of Work (SOW) and AMendments, the "child" documents? The goal is to have visibility in the Parent Contract Record of all related SOW and Amendments, while at the Child level visibility to the Parent Contract Record.
If the goal is to only show all child agreements under the parent agreement/contract then try to create a self lookup ..i.e a lookup from contract to contract.. this way when you create a child contract record you will have the option to select a parent contract in the new lookup field. (When creating a parent contract record you can leave the lookup field blank - as it does not need to have a parent) . Master-detail will probably not work here as a detail or child cannot be parent or master to another.
bro Wht ur telling was everything awesome but in previous session u created only student Tab. and now Here it is showing Employees and contacts tabs. when u created those apps and what information did saved we don't know so please teach step by step so that we are not confuse.
Hey, First of all, you are explaining very well and Just because of your explanation.I'm giving time for this course religiously. Second thing, When I'm trying for roll up summary option , it is greyed out., which has info icon consists of text(you cannot create this type of field on this object because it is not the master in a master detailed relationship), can you explain?
Hello, thankyou for your interest in my videos. To answer your query. Lets say you want to create a rollup field on object X to get the count of all records related to X from object Y, you must first create a Master detail relationship from object Y to X. This would make X the Master object and Y the child object. Please watch from 18:41 onwards to understand the same.
hi, thanks for uploading such an amazing stuff. may I know that why sometimes, while creating new fields/relationships "Master detail relationship" button is either not available or disabled?
Hi Sir, I have received this below error when creating the Master detail relationship. Pls help and brief here "Cannot Create Master-Detail Relationship You cannot create a new Master-Detail relationship on an existing custom object if records already exist. You must first create a Lookup relationship, populate the lookup field with data in all records, and then change the relationship type to Master-Detail."
Hi Rajat, the key point here is a child object record cannot exist without the parent record. It is the premise for a Master-Detail relationship. Your child object already has records, creating a master detail relationship would mean that you are introducing a new field which Must have a value always which would be false as the existing records will not have a value corresponding to your new field. To resolve this u need to do the following (pick 1 of the 2 methods) : Method 1: Delete all records in your current object. Then create master-detail relationship. Method 2: Step 1 : On your current object (child) create lookup field .eg. parent__relation__c of datatype lookup(parent__c) where parent__c is your parent object. Step 2: Now populate values in the new field.i.e. reference to parent records. Step 3: goto your field and edit it. Change datatype to master-detail. Please opt for method 2 if its not feesible to delete records. Hope this helps!
First of all thanks for the videos. Can you help me understand the difference between "developer.salesforce.com", "test.salesforce.com" and "login.salesforce.com" url's.
A production environment for your organisation can be accessed by logging in from login.salesforce.com. Test.salesforce.com is where you log in when you have a sandbox environment - this is where developement and tesring is done before pushing it to the actual enviroment , that is the production. A free account that we get to try out and learn salesforce is accessed from login.salesforce.com Lastly developer.salesforce.com is where salesforce developers can find resources or access to communities for clarifying concepts, learning about existing or new features or documentation of salesforce. Hope this answers your query! :)
Yes. you can have a Master Detail between Standard Object and a custom object. Standard Object must be the Master though. it cannot be the child or detail. and the Custom object can be detail.
I received the error: The custom field name you provided “Emergency Contact” can only contain alphanumeric characters.. this is a know issue according to the internet. But I can’t get passed it in order to create a “Lookup relationship”. Please advise. Thanks!
Try Naming it "EmergencyAccount" or "Emergency_account" in the field Name. The Field name is used to generate the API name of the field which is used to reference it . Usually when you enter a field name with a space like "Emergency Account" it accepts it and generates the API Name with _ by itself. i.e. "Emergency_Account__c" (API Names have __c in the end). :)
Hi, For a field when a API name gets generated automatically you can change it.Just remove the autogenerated text and type your desired API name instead. Follow naming guidelines like no spaces and no numbers at the beginning and the Name will be set as per that provided the name does not already exist.

WHERE I CAN FIND THE REST OF THOSE VIDEOS?
I have a doubt, is a master-child relationship only applicable to custom objects or we can select a combination of standard and custom objects?
Yes. you can have a Master Detail between Standard Object and a custom object. Standard Object must be the Master though. it cannot be the child or detail. and the Custom object can be detail.
Junction object is for Master Detail relation ship and not for look up
Thanks for identifying this. I have posted the correction on my pinned comment.

Is it done??? Really only 3 videos...
There is lot more to learn....

Do it now... Please....
in object's field this name is generated automatically, i don't want it what should i do.
Hi,
For a field when a API name gets generated automatically you can change it.Just remove the autogenerated text and type your desired API name instead. Follow naming guidelines like no spaces and no numbers at the beginning and the Name will be set as per that provided the name does not already exist.
