    I’ve never tried digital art outside of MS paint and I’m thinking about getting this as my first pen tablet. Now I’m having second thoughts because of the rubberized (plastic) edges and buttons. I know that they serve an ergonomic purpose but I’ve had an awful experience with those. I have a solar powerbank with a plastic rubberized body. Overtime (maybe because of sun exposure, IDK) the rubberized layer became very sticky. I hope that its not the same material because I really like the features, based on this helpful review. But maybe I’ll do more research about this or maybe opt to buy a different XP Pen model instead.

    • @teohontech7141

      Yeah, the rubber could be an issue. I hope it's not the sticky type of rubber.

    Hey Teoh, I have a question regarding the nib. You said there‘s a bit of movement/play when the nib touches the surface. Is this audible? When I gently tap the nib with my finger or tap it onto the surface, I get a faint clicking sound because the nib has a little bit of play. It‘s not too annoying, but I don’t remember the Wacom nibs having that, so that‘s why I am asking.

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  9 месяцев назад

      It probably sounds the same as Wacom nibs. It's not something I will notice unless I'm specifically looking out for it. The sound of the pen tip moving is louder due to texture than the tapping sound.

  • @benkohkh

    Thanks Teoh for this informative tech review. Just curious to know, apart from drawing apps, is this tablet also uses for note writing e.g: Goodnotes, Noteshelft, Notability kind of writing app on MacOS? Is pen tablets still popular nowadays (especially in art industry) since so many screen tablets in the market today which allows you to "draw direct" on the screen? Is pen tablets recommended for child as a tool to learn digital drawing?

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  2 года назад +4

      Pen tablets are not good for taking notes because there is noticeable latency. When drawing, latency isn't that bad because people don't draw that fast. But when writing, people write fast, and hence latency will be more noticeable. E.g. The line will always try to catch up with the pen tip after each letter.
      Pen tablets are cheaper than pen displays. It's certainly more intuitive to draw on pen displays. But it really comes down to preference. E.g. If I use a pen display as a second display to my main display, I have to look up/down or left/right depending on my setup. So I prefer to get a big pen display as a main display, but that's expensive. Pen tablets can be set on the tablet and you can draw with your back straight so that's more ergonomic.
      I have a video talking about this. ruclips.net/video/HpMLgPHEaZU/видео.html

      @@teohontech7141 You've mentioned Latency. Is that also the case when you plug the Tablet to the computer via USB cable instead of using Blootooth?

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  Год назад +1

      @@ElTestok There will still be latency with cable connection. Anyway, latency is not really an issue unless you're drawing really fast, e.g. cross hatching lines.

    Very similar to the other pen tablet on the market, no unique features. but anyway, can you add, in futures reviews, your experience with note taking/fast writing? With mac or win, is it present the finger sensitivity to move around the screen or use gestures like touchpad?

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  2 года назад +4

      For writing, you want to write fast. Pen tablets will always have latency so writing is not going to feel as responsive compared to portable tablets. This does not support touch gestures.
