Beating them up! Good video guys. If I may add, impact drivers aren't meant for drilling. They're made for use on fastners. Tightening bolts to torque or loosening them. Driving in screws and the like. As your son mentioned, the impact is less likely to break screw heads because it's not constantly delivering torque but rather intermittently. That drives the object without stressing it too much. That action also reduces the likelihood of a cam out even when driving phillips heads, unlike a drill. Appreciate the video!
Making me feel old, i still use my 3 speed 18v line with updated 5ah batteries. On my 3rd set of brushes. Best drills dewalt ever made, though obviously out of the trades now, but i agree its nice to have a small light drill to throw in your bag, instead of a heavy tank of a drill hanging off the side.
I just ordered this. I'm a milwaukee guy. But I don't have blind loyalty. The 850 is the perfect mix of size and power. Put a power stack on this and it's amazing
Drill only ? I believe impacts are making drills obsolete. Especially with the muliple settings that's impacts have now .not to mention how quickly you can use a bit with a impact vs a drill.
Going more towards impact usage, quick change between pilot drill, drill, countersink, screw bit, just the one tool to carry about, as well as the size and wight. Another plus vs chucked drill is chuck runout as the chucks get old, or chucks just simply not holding bits properly which can happen more than it should with even newish chucks.
Really good arguments here. We do run 1/4 hex drive heads on our 12v drills so quick change is a null point however valid compared to a chuck. Appreciate the comment.
I can’t believe I forgot that. Impacts are the only thing to use with Tapcons. We put a ton of those and never pick a drill up because they just don’t work on concrete. Great comment.
I have a different experience than others do with Milwaukee. First let me say that the tools Milwaukee doesn’t rush out to be first one ahead of the competition end up being fantastic tools. Few years ago everything I owned was red. I had three different tools from them that just didn’t work. Made the mistake and didn’t return them before the 90 days. Where I got really ticked of was 3 different You Tubers 💯 recommended them. I commented in one of their videos later about having issues and this RUclipsr acknowledged they were seeing the same thing. I said make a video on it. No reply. Right about that same time Milwaukee’s gen 2s we’re coming out. That’s great but what about all the people stuck with these earlier versions. I then went onto Home Depot looking at the gen 2s when I noticed they were still selling the original ones. All the reviews were identical as mine. Milwaukee should have bought every gen 1 out there back but no they were going to keep selling what they had left. These were fuel tools also. I’d still own majority red if that hadn’t of happened. The fact is DeWALT, Makita and Milwaukee all make fantastic tools.

I’ll try them out, appreciate the comment.

We still have a couple of those 3 spds. Good drills.

It would be awesome with a power stack
Paddle bits are a form of drilling so a drill would be best.
Good comment

Good points
would liked to have seen some massive thick screws on the drills to see if they could handle it.. im thinking the 850 would have smoked them

Thanks guys 😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
Appreciate it.

It’s a great tool

I've got a couple DeWalt tools, but I definitely prefer my Milwaukee electric tools much better!
