i've been here several times and i stop by whenever i'm in the area. i love this place. i gotta admit though, i've had better dumplings before. that said, that SAUCE. that sauce is amazing and the dumpling's combination with the sauce is what sets this place apart for me from other places.

It is safe to say it as a different dish inspired from Tibet. Naming it a Nepali-Tibetian would do no harm i think.
The highest end of asian dumplings / dim sums has requirements that you should ground the meat by knife and take extraordinary care of the consistency of the mince (not too smooth nor too rough). And one should knead the dough by hands as well to feel the moist and the general bounciness. A dumpling/bun shop, that uses machines to mix the dough and to ground the meat, will barely see any customers in Asia. I've not tried this place and I can't assert how it tastes, but in Asia, if you're using machines to do the essential tasks, you can't claim it to be natural.

But I am a Tibetan and as long as I remember from my great grandparents till now we have never had dhapu (What’s that ?) ..but mo mo all the way and we have a traditional steam bun called ting mo mo which in Tibetan ting means steamed mo mo bun. I would love to hear from your information sources . And what is the meaning of the term momo in Nepalese if it’s invented there . If it’s taken from China it shud be called 饺子 Jiaoxi not Mo Mo.
@@kii8550 Here’s a quick note for you. Momo still was/is a luxurious food in Tibet. Momo dumplings are made of Flour. There is no any cultivation of Flour in Tibet and surrounding areas of Tibet. And this is much older than your grandfather’s grandfathers too. It’s invented in Kathmandu valley by Newars and they introduced in Tibet. It’s ancient and original name is Mamacha in Newari and later the word got corrupted into Ma Ma and then again corrupted into MoMo. FYI: No rice is still grown in Tibet. And you can still find Dhapu around Boudhanath stupa where most of the Tibetan refugee live who carried Dhapu with themselves too.

You sir are wrong. We have a lot of hidden gems all over the place. Momo Ghar is awesome, Peking House is amazing, some of the Japanese restaurants are out of this world and we have a lot of good Indian food in Northwest Columbus.
Don’t go with the hype!!! I was waiting to try this place since 3 years. I finally went there with family as I rave about this momos. My family almost disowned me lol cuz it was so bad and not eatable at all. We had to throw over 100 dollar food as soon as we put it in our mouth 😭

I live in Columbus and have tried them twice. Taste OK. But I have to say these are the most overpriced dumplings in the world. 8 tiny dumplings cost you $10. Have to spend $20 to fill my stomach in a grocery store restaurant. Would rather have a ribeye steak.
Obviously it's not their first language so everyone make mistakes with pronunciation just like how some Nepalese pronounce English word completely different frm how it supposed to be

I went there when I was in Colombus a few months ago. The Momos were phenomenal.
They have a second location in North Market. While they are on the expensive side, I think they are definitely worth trying and are pretty delicious.
I live two miles from there. Best ever dumplings. Great, hot, comfort food. The sauce is DELICIOUS as are the buns.
