I've been using one of these 32 channel KinCony controllers in my 42' yacht for a couple of years now. I like this product. It is easy to program and their firmware is simple and not buggy. I trust this with all functions on the boat. Of course you should never try to drive any load directly from 5 amp reed relays. Always use them to control more powerful relays for maximum reliability on mission critical systems.
different controller will have different address ID, such as controller A is 1, controller B is 2, controller C is 3. so input unit-ID in Node-Red modbus's node option is ok.
relay controller input port can use for dry contactor sensor, such as door sensor, temperature sensor(but it ouptut OPEN/CLOSE signal , just for detect temperature value whehter arrived. such as T>30℃ then trigger. not output temperature value.)

Very nice modbus integration with NodeRed. What about if i need to control more modbus controller?

install home assistant work with panel on the wall.
