  • I'm a huge Angus Young fan... he was, arguably, my first guitar hero way back in the late 1970s...
And what I've come to learn as I've gotten more into the blues and its history, is that Angus had some great blues moves that apply as much to classic rock as they do the blues.
In this video, I'll show you one that he uses a lot in "Back In Black," and many other songs, where he "turns" around the blue note in a minor blues scale (the b5.)

I never stop discovering little rythym twists in ac dc tunes . Its often said that brothers that sing together are in sync in a way that most vocalists cant be . And i think this applies to this bands guitar arrangements too.
This is a great insight to how they arrange guitars

Thank you! I am a BGU subscriber and consider myself a "near intermediate" player. I know all the minor pentatonic scales but am practicing the same licks between the different patterns. This helps a lot...

If you use your RING finger on the ROOT ( A string)
      Your INDEX on the b3 ( D string)....try hammering/pulling off the Major 3.
You BEND the b3 into maj3 note anyways
Or play the b7 slide or hammer to the ROOT
      or play Maj6, b7...X...R
You also BEND the b7 into maj7...too
Sort of like Bending the G note to A min chord ( when playing A min)
If you play b3 it'll just be dorian...if you play maj3 it'll just be dominant ish
      descending
Try pulling off the b9 to b7.
      ..............................5........4
      .............................b3......R
      try targeting the Maj3
      maj3.......5........b7............b9...
      Play up an octave...........b5...5.....b7.......root.
target the ROOT.....hammer/pull the b7 on the high E
      there modes...such as mix #2....Mix #2, #4
      Mix b2, #4..
      Mix b2
      mix b2, b6...ect
      In a nutshell b3 and maj3
just dont hang on those tritone or ( option/passing notes)...for too long.
      use your ears.
Just noodle....write you own wacky/funkie...or evilish licks.
      play some mean blues

@@bluesguitarunleashed You HAVE TO check out a guy on RUclips called G sharp media! OMG he has a soul of slash! The most naturally close to slash I've ever seen. He had class too but unfortunately he passed away... Anyway, I'd really like to learn how Slash and G sharp media able to do so much amazing sound ( bluesy/rock/dirty but good) in the small box area and how they able to travel the whole neck and know what to play to make things sounds good? Do they already have the music in their mind before they play? Or do they just follow the clicks they comfortable with? Thank you so much sir!
