Thanks so much for the comment!! The story made me really uncomfortable untill I saw what you wrote and did some research into it. Turned out really wholesome.
The parasocial relationships people have with celebs/influencers makes them forget they're not actually close with these celebs. It reminds me of that time when these 2 teenage girls were roasting Tom Holland, thinking it's just a playful banter (and because they always see Tom holland friends and co-stars roasting him), But those fans don't realize it just looks awkward because they're not close with tom holland. It doesn't work, it's just cringey. You don't know them personally, and they don't know you.
Parasocial relationships can be alright as long as you remember that they are PARASOCIAL. If u start thinking its interpersonal it starts getting unhealthy.

You guys are right at the edge of online popularity where you're kinda turning into semi-celebrities but you've still got the "general public" mind set
This feels like the opening scene of a horror anime. I know it didn't end badly, but y'all, please respect people's boundaries even when they're someone you look up to and follow. Be nice. Say hi, get a selfie, and be happy with that instead of appearing wherever they go like a yandere.
I've recently gotten into a position where I get to meet a lot of people I admire and this little trick has almost always worked. Go up to them and say: "Hi, my name is [blank] and I'm a fan of yours. Is it okay if I talk to you a bit?" If they say yes, cool. If not, ask this: "Would there be any better time for you talk?" If yes, follow up on it. If they say no, they're not comfortable with fan interaction, so leave them alone. That being said, most "celebs" are fairly used to being in the spotlight and understand that fan interactions are part of the job, so if you're just straight with them and tell them you want to take this chance to have a convo with them, they're cool with it way more often than not.
I have admittedly been cringe at cons before. I remember I saw two girls in really cool cosplays at AX once and asked to take a picture. Fate decided that my phone would die RIGHT before I could, so I explained it, we had a small chat and complimented each other's costumes, and I said I'd try to find them again once my phone was charged. Lo and behold, I DID find them, and got the picture. I then asked if I could like, join them or hang out or something, and was declined. Luckily, I was smart enough to just leave it at that and wish them a good rest of the convention, but I still get embarrassed and cringe at myself when I remember it.

What Gigguk had to say to this "Stalker's" friend: "Please tell your friend there is no bad blood, I wasn't actually planning to bring him up but the boys just happened to be talking about weird places we've been recognised the day AFTER it happened haha. I'm sure he didn't think it through and I'm sure we would've run into each other again at some point, would've said exactly the same to him in private, but at least we got a funny story out of it. Thanks for being a good sport about it haha."
The "stalker" was just happy to be acknowledged. He was happy that "senpai noticed [him]." He apologized for his behavior (he was drunk at the time) and was relieved that Garnt had forgiven him.
"""Stalker's""" friend explaining the incident: "He short story is he was out with a girl, drinking, when he saw Gigguk at the bar. Of course he had to meet one of his favorite youtubers, so that was why he approached them at first. Then as they were leaving, he found out they were going to a karaoke he frequents and despite the girl telling him it was a bad idea, his drunken mind went through with it. On the train ride home, filled with regret, he talked to me about it. I've been waiting for it to appear in an episode since."
The 5 stories one up made more sense to me. Because maybe the person was like omgsh its them!! But then thought it would be weird if they literally ran up those 5 stories just to chase them down, and the opportunity couldn't be missed so they just took a photo of them from far away to at least get some memory from it. Still creepy, but kinda understandable.
Oo Joey said something very true. A lot don't approach, because they don't want to bother you. Honestly, if I'd see a youtuber, singer or whatever, I'd also just keep my distance.
I think the thing with people taking photos from afar is them TRYING to not be creepy/rude by interacting with you in public. Like, I know it doesn't come off that way but that's because they aren't minor celebrities so it's hard to put themselves in your position. Plus a lot of internet personalities are assholes IRL so the thought of that happening to them by one of their favourite people probably puts them off from approaching y'all lol

Maybe he was inv but someone in group didnt remeber or something, but again he could have just joined, and that kinda weird.
@@catsouplover7745 i feel like if that was the case, the guy would have immediately gone to or said something to the one who invited him.
The fact he opens with "can I join you guys" is really telling
Except in this case it's a hell of a lot creepier cuz the guy somehow knew they were heading to karaoke despite not being near them.
@@misatai5457 the thing is we have only heard parts of the story told by one person of the group in a comedic manner... Maybe we shouldn't hang him right away.
The 1 dislike is probably him
I think they’re underestimating their recognition
ye, thats why i kinda dont think what joey said was creepy. they are basically celebrities so ofc they are gonna get photos taken alot
I heard Come Baby Come in my head at the start of the video.
ok but am i allowed to come up to you and say “Whats good Gigguk my Nigguk?”
God I hope this guy doesn't lose his shit and kill gigguk in the future. legit scary shit
Damn Garnt, you got me
i have the courage to talk to youtubers i just dont because i suck at conversations
holy shit almost 2 years ago
Imagine instead of saying I saw "joey" they type 'target found"
people taking photos like that should just think "how would i feel about some random person i've never met posted a picture of me online"
Is this like, ur own fan fiction?
It's me I'm the stalker, sorry I thought you were Light.
I remember taking Sydsnap to the restroom so she could wash off her face and call Gigguk.
You'd think Conner would be the one with the stalker, what with all the interesting places he's been to.
Oo Joey said something very true. A lot don't approach, because they don't want to bother you. Honestly, if I'd see a youtuber, singer or whatever, I'd also just keep my distance.
dude pulled a kazuya lmaoo
Trainman 1 did you send your disciples to help him that is good.
I go to places youtubers go often and I'm scared of being mentioned here :( I'm not stalking I just like the place there too. Which is the truth...
U sounds sus
@@xpriest2920 No I just live in a area where most youtubers live.. and I was born in that area too, I'm sorry for being born, I'll make a time travel and make my parents abort me
It was an among us jokes
Sorry if you feel insulted
@@xpriest2920 its okay I just have a habit of writing overly-detailed posts
I feel so bad for this guy
am i the only one who thinks people now will just be trying to make the most awkward interaction possible in order to get mentioned on podcast
if i ever see them ill just walk up, ask for a jojo pose selfie, have maybe a short convo, maybe ask for an anime recomendation, then walk away and wish em a good day
Oh you're the beta cousin of just some guy with a mustache
@@nemomukerji just cousin, thank you very much

It’s not bad to admire someone or want to be involved with a group, it’s when u start being really creepy, follow them around. One thing is to be open minded and another is to be easy
