I've been to some conventions before and always made sure to respect who I'm meeting there no matter how excited I am, after all they are only another person like me even if they may be my favourite characters from a tv show. I got to hang out with an actor (on a paid tour) for a day and we just chatted like we were friends which was really nice; I got to ask lots of questions about their work and they enjoyed answering them and my interest in their work. They got my attention at one stage so I didn't get hit by a cyclist which I was grateful for haha. It was a wonderful day! But there is always someone who goes over the top and my heart just breaks for them. It also just makes it feel awkward to interact with the guests after that because if they've had one bad experience that day and in the past, I feel like they may feel nervous about other fans...
I think it's so engraved in everyone's mind that women get sexually harassed but men are just beings that are always thirsty so they can't be sexually harassed and by showing their body or flirting without consent those women feel they're giving Connor a gift and that he probably likes it which is an absolutely wrong way of thinking but it's a sad truth.
As a cosplayer and artist this has happened to me with people saying they know me. I'm not even that popular and people still do it because they think they can get something out of it. It's so gross.

I’m pretty sure he was around 18 or so at the time, so it wasn’t like it was illegal, but I felt so bad that he had no control over who he could refuse as far as the calls went. She even recorded his reaction and uploaded it as if people would back her on sexually harassing him.
