My son (he's a tool guy) suggested using sandpaper to sharpen my punch - it worked! I did have to punch a few times, but there is definitely an improvement! He said to punch the foil to clean the punch. 🙄 Here I am telling people foil will help sharpen it, but I was wrong. 🤦🏼♀️ BTW, my blue punch is awful! My kids bought me the black one and that works much better.
I buy the foil pans from dollar tree and cut up, then punch punch punch. Works better than foil only in that with foils you have to have enough layers and punch more than 15x to resharpen.
Thanks for sharing this! I tried the infamous foil technique and had ZERO improvements but thought it must just be me. Good to know it wasn't operator error. LOL! And yeah, I think the early batch of happy planner punches where just subpar in quality as I have heard numerous complaints about them. I'm just too cheap to buy another so I keep sticking it out with mine. Hoping the sandpaper works! Gonna have to steal some from my hubs when he's not looking... ;)
My budget laminator can only do 5mil...otherwise I would go for 10mil. Wish I would have picked up the mink when I saw it on clearance a few years back, but didn't realized it did more than just foil. :(
I am loving the little pocket cards I had a ton of those pages and I didn't know what to do with them. And with all my extra scraps I can definitely have some summer fun ;)

Thank you so much, Wendy!
Love the DIY! 🥰 Have you tried 10mil laminate for your covers? I like the Oregon Lamination ones, I use my mink laminator and it works great.
