- Manchester City are two points off top spot in the Premier League after a storming 4-1 victory over leaders Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
Kevin De Bruyne’s seventh minute strike gave Pep Guardiola’s side and a raucous City support an early boost before John Stones’ header on the stroke of half-time doubled the lead.
De Bruyne made it three early in the second period with a measured stroke after turning the ball over in Arsenal’s half.
The Belgian was supplied excellently by Erling Haaland for both of his goals.
Arsenal defender Rob Holding claimed one back in the closing stages to give the visitors a flicker of hope.
However, Haaland completed the scoring in added time by squeezing a left-footed finish under Aaron Ramsdale.
It's the Norwegian's 33rd strike of the season and takes him to a 38-game Premier League record, surpassing Mo Salah's tally of 32 in 2017/18.
The victory completes the league double over our title rivals and extends our excellent Premier League form to nine wins in our last ten matches.
With seven games to go and two games in hand on Arsenal, the destiny of what would be a third successive Premier League title and five in the last six seasons is in our hands.

Exactly. I told myself the same. As a Belgian I am an absolute fan of KDB, our red hair magician, but players such as Foden, B Silva (what a player!), Rodri, Akanji, Alvarez, Marez, Gundegan are just amazing, if not in every game, at least each in turn. The whole team is just insane, for sure the best of the 5 major European championships this season.
If you see the replay (not in this video), Foden was a bit lucky cause it touched the defender and went to Haaland.

To be honest, that UCL trophy was the most random thing it could happen to Chelsea. Not saying you guys didn't deserve them, but both of your UCL trophies happened when your team wasn't that good tbh, but this is something else. While I believe it wasn't a great team when you won the UCL (no Man City fan), you shouldn't be sitting at the bottom half. It just shows how it's not just about putting money to play AAANND you shouldn't have brought Sterling as your main offensive player lol only Guardiola can pick a bunch of good players out of position and turn them into a powerful team, Chelsea doesn't have a coach like that.

generally he wasn't, but there was a time he could have teed up de Bruyne but he didn't. instead he decided to do a trick (which was good by the way) to get past holding and Gabriel, I think, and then shot the ball which was saved by ramsdale. In the end it was a good attempt, but it would have def been a goal if he had just passed the ball.

Even though he only scored once, this might have been haaland's best game at city yet. I love how pep is slowly managing to actually turn erling into a decent playmaker, he no longer just waits near the goal for passes from his teammates. He now plays an important role in every offensive action of city and he's been giving some perfect passes lately. All this while still scoring a ton of goals

What I love about the Man City side is they are a team of brothers. No one selfish with the ball and trying to take goals away from other players. Everyone just goes out there and have fun while getting the job done.
