As a hardcore emo kid, I don't think I would classify any of these songs as being "classic emo". That isn't to say they aren't good, they just aren't what comes to mind when I hear the word 'classic'. I instead think more of Brand New, Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, Cap'n Jazz, Rites of Spring, Texas is the Reason, The Get Up Kids, Moss Icon, Dag Nasty, Gray Matter, Drive Like Jehu, and The Promise Ring.

@@NicolasLuengas emo started from post-hardcore in the 80s and lead to 90s skramz. Also midwest emo came from it. Then in the 00’s based on pop punk and melodic metalcore we got the kind of stuff this video is playing

Everyone always talks about how on point your Billie Joe is, but you also do a pretty strong Ryan Key, Gerard Way, and Brandon Flowers. Great video man!
I keep seeing The Killers popping up in random emo videos and I never thought of them as an emo band. I would of changed up a few of these songs to be honest but they were performed well. Great video!

The killers is indie/alt…bullet for my valentine is metalcore… but yeah no “real” emo although I consider some pop punk an important part of emo culture.
yeah, i also don't get why is this considered 'classic emo' by some. classic emo is rites of spring, embrace, sunny day real estate, mineral, texas is the reason, jimmy eat world, cap'n jazz, american football, christie front drive, appleseed cast and others. these songs were either pop punk (or mall emo, too), alternative rock, or metalcore. not saying these are bad in any way, i love most of them, but this is in no way classic emo. it's like saying twenty one pilots are emo, or panic at the disco. all the bands here are solid, but i expected something else. this video should be called '10 classic alternative rock songs of the 00s'
Bring back those fucking emo days . Lets sign petition for this .

This is 2000s "emo". Well, some of it, saw bands there that have no business being there. Classic emo is Action and Action, In Circles, Stay Home, Gloria, For Want Of, Oh Messy Life and so on but okay, we're appealing to nostalgia here.
