A bit of finger / Sleeping Village / Warning
1970
I do not own any rights
Red sun rising in the sky
Sleeping village, cockerels cry
Soft breeze blowing in the trees
peace of mind, feel at ease
Now the first day that I met ya
I was looking in the sky
When the sun turned all a blur
and the thunderclouds rolled by
The sea began to shiver
and the wind began to moan
It must've been a sign for me
to leave you well alone
I was born without you, baby
but my feelings were a little bit too strong
you never said you love me
and I don't believe you can
'cause I saw you in a dream
and you were with another man
You looked so cool and casual
and I tried to look the same
But now I've got to know ya
tell me who am I to blame?
I was born without you, baby
but my feelings were a little bit too strong
Now the whole wide world is movin'
'cause there's iron in my heart
I just can't keep from cryin'
'cause you say we've got to part
Sorrow grips my voice as I stand here all alone
And watch you slowly take away
a love I've never known
I was born without you, baby
but my feelings were a little bit too strong
Bill Ward is an underrated drummer this is awesome 😎
there is no word to describe how far beyond great this album and song is
Seriously
Real metal, these are the guys
Out. Fuckin rageous. Metal. Has begun. With this very. Album. No question about it
Thin lizzy hit the same time, but sabbath blew their doors
Pure fucking artwork. I cry every time I listen to any Black Sabbath or Ozzy.
I like the beginning, before Ozzy starts singing, very much. It's very short. I wish I could find more music like this.
First time I heard thos was when I was 13..... Tripping on acid............. With both of my brothers........ One hell of a night!!!!!!!!!!
Yup yup! We WUZ chair racing
Great song
Found this album in my dad's record collection in 1977 when I was 16. He had no clue as to why he even had it, cause it def wasn't his style. I was hooked ever since. I'm 58 now
🖥️🖥️💰💴🔯🐉👁️🇦🇬🙊🙉😘

This is the Birth of Heavy Metal, with roots of some jazz and geniality.
Imagine being a Stoner in the 70s hearing this for the first time?! Dayum❤❤❤
78, I was 10, mind blowing doesn’t even begin… that and the real 4 way windowpane
anyone who does'nt think bill ward is one of rock's best drummers needs to hear this...
Jazz influence is thick
ken Chamberlain He definitely is, top 50 drummers ever, according to Rolling Stone Magazine, influenced by swing jazz drum style, among others.
hes the coolest
In my top ten! But to me John Bonham is thicker, but thats more a question of personal taste, not of better technique or sth.
Amazing
I am Love Music That is not miss leading..🙏😇🌈 Bless Wonderful Singers..
A Guitar solo that would burn HELL!!! Fuckin Rock n Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This reminds me of sitting around the kitchen table, having fun, good friends music,, for some reason everyone love to sit in the kitchen,,lol,, Have fun,Peace..
FROM THE SLEEPY VILLAGE OF VIETNAM TO THE SLEEPY BEDROOM DREAMS OF THE WARNING...AWESOME LYRICS AND INCREDIBLE GUITAR WORK , CLASSIC ....
Tony iommi ...I got this album loaned to me when I was 13 ...changed my life..I still play guitar...still love Sabbath.God bless the rockers
One of my favourite heavy metal band since I was 15yrs l still listen to them now 2022.
I believe, you never heard anything like this before, the band personified, this music, I'm almost positive, I was blown away by the sound and guitarist, and Ozzy was incredible, the drummer was underrated, this music is the key to heavy metal, as it was being born!
Thus stuff never gets dull...
My favorite Sabbath light one!get ya pull.....oh yes
So... SO VIBE!
This album and Paranoid were absolute killers.
....... But my feelings' were a little bit too strong........just a little bit too strong...
Great workout music
TONI I. WAS AHEAD OF HIS TIME AS A BLUES ;METAL GUITARIST. HE IS A INSPIRATION TO ME AS A GUITARIST. AND MANY MORE. CLASSIC HEAVY AND ACTUALLY JAZZY AT TIMES AS WELL. PERFECT SOUND.
As you may know he was inspired by the jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt who like Iommi had a damaged hand
I can remember bringing this album to school I had bought it because of the cover names of the songs I had never heard Sabbath when the teacher saw it I was sent to the principals office but I did not go and went home. The teacher never asked what the principal said and I did not volunteer any information.
That's hilarious. Sounds like something that would have happened to me but my history with this album was a bit different (maybe just as funny). A friend at school told me about the album and said it was at the library. I got my first library card just to take out this album. I didn't have my own stereo yet so I played it on my sister's record player (an orange and white colored piece of junk. little kiddies toy). My mother was cooking dinner in the kitchen and it sounded like she dropped something in the sink and then she came into the room and said what was that? I had found a pair of headphones and was just plugging them in. I told her it was a record I got at the library and she suggested I take it back. I said yeah that's what I'm going to do and I ended up listening to the whole album with headphones. I don't know how long after this I tried stealing the album from a store and got caught (another long story) so I never actually owned the album after all that. First Sabbath album I actually owned was Master Of Reality.
Hell yeah bro ! I remember taking LP's to school for art class.
In 6th grade in art class the teacher would play albums and said he'd play ours , so brought we sold our souls to rock and roll album and when war pigs came on all the girls said it scared them so he had to take it off . end up playing Jeff Beck and the Jan hammer live album witch was good .
openmypackage cool don't rock on str8
Steve Percoco I remember buying this album but I see a. Few fk n a
Air Guitar Players' hall of fame
That voice....oh my god.
Thank you Justine. :)
Oh lord yeah
Это просто улет!!!
nice jazz playing and drumsound
Brother Bill is way underrated in the rock hegemony
Without a doubt
Portada muy 🎨 artística.
E VENHAM TODOS PARA ESCURIDÃO
So Good ! My life is Sabbath !
stopped by the place where the album cover is taken, near Reading, the other day. unfortunately doesn't look anywhere near as creepy now.
I can't believe people thought these guy's were Satanist just because their lyrics were dark didn't they know back then that not everybody likes happy happy tunes some people like this stuff they were crazy back then! This band rocks!
I concur. Like Marky Ramone says, "Not everybody can be Pat Boone."
Crank it up!
Toney Tillery Isaiah.
This album and heaven and hell are awesome. All of them are.
GREAT!!!
Intensely perfect, even 47 years old!
Wow i have been loving them for 5 years and have just discoverd this song how Come i have this album on cd and vinyl but have never heard the first song a bit of finger.
I wish I could find some music like the beginning part, before Ozzy starts singing I guess it's a Jew's Harp, or a GewGaw, among other names. And the guitar. I could find nothing that sounds anything like that. It reminds me somehow of water, the way it splashes, ripples and echos.
Jaw harp.
Que álbum tan oscuro el primero de su catálogo muy bueno escuchen lo saludos de chile con rock
❤
Ozzy is a legend
Justine
You know you’re music
Knowing that this is a cover, but honestly. They fucking perfected it.
The feelings were to strong
Ok I won't around when this hit but I rocked this on 8 - track - and who the fuck can z say that - and also I was banging my bad ass girl friend 20 + feet in the air in a tree house with Christmas lights and what ever else you can imagine had a couple pot plants on hand also had to every no and again hit the skip track button to continue to the next song - damn wish I could go back bout 85 -86
Thanks for sharing 😂
Great early work. Master of reality was way better than Paranoid.
Hmmm depends on the day
Why better? It is your personal taste.
warning was written by journey's former drummer (ansley dunbar)
Bullshit
@@clintclower7604 No, not b/s. It was a cover of a song recorded by 'Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation' in 1967 (long before he joined Journey), and writing credits are Dunbar/ Dmochowski/ Hickling/ Moorshead.
The very first UK pressings omitted the writing credit's for both 'warning' and the cover of Crow's 'Evil Woman...'.
You are exactly correct.
You talk to much
I did not know that!
Is there really anything to say? From what I know, the Beatles still aren't playing, Zepplin doesn't do much, the new kids of rock just don't have that Genuine Classic sound. 13 was even great, Now Ozzy is defying all logic and has a new album coming, and he's been solo for close to 40 years. I Love the Beatles, But Ozzy and The Sabs Still played on after reuniting.
RUSH! R.I.P. Neal Peart ... they played together since 1973... Rolling Stones, who I can't stand are going on yet another tour ... unbelievable. Yes, agreed. Ozzy defies all logic. He is still out there but he is not the Ozzy of old, sadly.
Puta que pariu essa guitarra do Black Sabbath e foda bom demais alias a banda toda
💪🤘✊👊👏
was this album the ACTUAL start of heavy metal??? # me thinks so :)
Yes it was.
Exactly!!!
Dam right it was
U bet your ass it was
No it wasn't there were several bands doing this just not so good.
metal funk at its fucking greatest
alden21 I second that
This is the roots of heavy metal. First time I heard thist was in 1969 when my older brother bought it. I was 8 years old and it scared me lol. By the time I hit my teen years they were a favourite band of mine. Still listen to them often.
alden21 I bought this album in 71..I was ten so you know where that shit led...that's right..sweet leaf and anything else we could get our juvenile delinquent hands on...good times bro...God bless America
God bless English bands around the 70's
great music not so well known‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Wow.
They really needed to leave the solos out.
I wonder how many times they got laughed off stage for the brilliant guitar improves that missed the bowl and leaked into the auditorium?
And when you think its safe, the shake!
Ozzy had a good voice, and the bass kicks.
The drummer is awsome.
🤘🍻😈
No thank you, mazzy! I'll take 30 days in the Hole!
👋
Which part of this is "A Bit of Finger"? 🤔
เรามีข้อตกลงกับผู้ใหญ่มันอยู่ในที่ปลอดภัยการรักษาความปลอดภัยเข้มงวดมาก
Who ever disliked this dong does not no anything about music
Black Sabbath might be my favorite f******
I'm not into dong; that's Rob Halford's thing. But I like these tracks from this "Black Sabbath" debut. Listening to this, it's 1970 and I'm 14 again.
Sounds like a mixture of modified Cream songs.
Yes ,!!! Great ear
Why is "Behind the Wall of Sleep" missing?
missing from what? these are two songs from the album that merge into each other tracks 6and7 btwos is track 3
The end of side one had "Wasp / Behind the Wall of Sleep / Bassically / N.I.B."
and the end of side two had "A Bit of Finger / Sleeping Village / Warning"
There is no BS album called Warning my friend.
Ward isnt a Great Drummer.........He is a Superior Percussionist. Convince me I am Wrong.
He is Drummer. Only Drummer.
Huh you go play it 😂
There was never a song called "A Bit of Finger".
There was on the north american releases, and evil woman and wicked world were left off.
+Live Wire ... You're correct -- and I've heard both the European and North American releases, but there is no actual song entitled: "A Bit of Finger" on either. For whatever reason, some of the North American releases had track listings for songs that did not exist: the first record had "Wasp" and "A Bit of Finger"; Paranoid had "Luke's Wall" and "Jack the Stripper"; Volume 4 had "The Straightener" and "Under the Sun". People will argue that these are "Intros and Extros", but I am not buying that, lol.
Yeah, you've got a point, John. I've always wondered why they did that, if sabbath was the only band that did, if it was the band's decision or the producer's or the record company. Some are obviously intro/extro/transitional pieces like "bassically", but some like "a bit of finger" are much more obscure or non-existent. Either way, it's a very artistic album and therefore open to interpretation. Maybe that's the point.
The north american release had wicked world.
John Smith Under the Sun is an actual song and a good one too
Po stokroć ***** ***
Hey is this Satanic or Jesus Gospill, I get confused.
Stop lol 😆
A great song on a title album. Paranoid sucks balls, Master of Reality through Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was their best work.
not that youre wrong. but calm, calm down boy!
In your humble opinion.
@@alessandrogouveia2268 He's very wrong.
You're nuts. Sabbath bloody sabbath was an absolute piece of shit
