i really wish PCSX2 would support texture replacement like Dolphin does. HD texture packs really help sell the big picture

Not only that, I think the emulator runs faster now. There was a performance boost.
I can attest; Ape Escape 3 runs without a hitch, where the last version of PCSX2 there was a bit if slowdown here and there.

As a LONG time pcsx2 user (like, over 10 years) i am so glad its still getting REALLY good updates. The new ui is such a huge improvement and not having to deal with plugins and whatnot is such a relief.

I think the new UI is actually created by the same guy who made Duckstation (hence the similarity).
However. if you want to play the Namco Museum Volume 1-5 and Encore games for Duckstation, watch out. There is a graphical bug in those games where the colors of one screen is not the correct one at all, where it should be green but shows up as blue in the emulator, but it shows as green in Bizhawk.
I feel like this post was made for me because I've always wanted to play that version of mgs2.

On the PS2 the square, circle, X, and triangle buttons were pressurised. Meaning in GTA if you don't fully press the X button whilst driving you would only drive at half throttle.

You can also now use Chd game files in the newest nightly version saving you lots of hard drive space.

Thanks for this. I'm gonna update mine. Hoping it fixes my nfsu2 bug. I have to be 70-80% complete and the game crashes after any race that I do. I just can't progress now 😢

Yes, on MGS2 you can use High blend accuracy to fix the black skin textures and keep a good framerate now

Just downloaded it and I have to say it was the best emulator I’ve ever used im currently using it to play old Tony hawk games and need for speed some of my most favorite games as a kid

From my experience, the new build has a TON of input lag, to where it makes it unusable compared to the previous version.
Does that include action replay and code breaker as well

I've downloaded PCS2X but don't know how it works. Any and all tips would be appreciated. Also does one need to actually have a PS2 in order to play the games or is it just a database of PS2 games for one to play via PC? Thanks

It was included in a rerelease of the game only on the ps2 so you either played the original version or a version that came out after that

But my question is on metal gear solid one the PlayStation controllers it has that half pressing the button so you just aim the gun then fully press the button to shoot . I recall not being able to do that on the emulated versions of metal gear
It works on PS2/3 controllers via USB or bluetooth. Youre also able to bind the push sensitive button to trigger on ie the xbox controller
The skateboarding mode runs very slow with my 3700X at high resolutions
I wonder since the PS3 was backwards compatible is the rpcs3 emulator backwards compatible with PS2 games; so you would only need one emulator then for both consoles
It’s the same reason pcsx2 doesn’t fully support ps1. It would render the other emulators almost useless. Not to mention that pcsx2 has been around for far longer than rpcs3 so it has way more support.

Maybe I should check this out and actually bother to fiddle with settings so I can play Monster Hunter Dos with a framerate lower than my age and controls that work consistently. That game does not need anything to make it any more grueling, let me just tell you.

No, because they don't have pressure sensitive face buttons. The only pressure sensitive bottons on a DS4/Dualsense are the L2 and R2 triggers.
You could remap the pressure sensitive functions to L2 and R2 and that _should_ work though. Like on MGS3 map fire to R2, and CQC to L2. I've never tried that, but it might work.
For MGS2 you're probably better off playing the native PC version of Substance with the "V's Fix" fan patch. That comes with a revised control scheme similar to the original Xbox version's (since that console's controller also lacked pressure sensitivity). You'd have to pirate it, since Konami are a pack of shitters and delisted the game years ago.

It supports achievements for a lot of the games through retroachievements as well. Some games don't, like Shrek 2. Disappointing for that one. But close to 500 achievements for Radiata Stories.

They don't come with pressure sensitivity. Only PS3 and 2 controllers.
