  • What do you think authors earn when publishing their books? A few lakhs? Half a crore if things go really well? But what would you say, if it turns out you are way off the mark?
Aishwarya calculates how much authors can earn from their book, royalties and other income streams, and breaks down what that means given the time invested to write and publish a book.

Are self-published books, especially novels subsidiary rights like film rights, split between self-publishers and authors?

Thanks for making these videos about the book publishing industry in India. They are really informative, specially for aspiring authors. I have a question for you: for new fiction writers, where is the best place to focus your marketing budget?
Do readers buy fiction mostly online now (i.e. through Amazon, Flipkart, etc), or do people still go to bookstores and discover new books? My instinct is that although a large percentage of fiction book sales happen through online purchases, those are mostly books of authors that people know of or books recommended by a friend. The only time that readers can discover and purchase a book of a new author they had never previously heard of is still while browsing in physical bookstores. But I'm curious if there's any data about this...

I was scammed by Amazon KDP for over $3000 dollars. They knew my book was turned down by Amazon to be on their book list but continued to get more money out of me for promotion and will not give a refund.

@@yashwanthrayalu5023 My book was turned down by amazon yet Amazon KDP kept seeking money from me with excuses why the book was not on Amazons book list. They stole close to $4,000 dollars and no one can find out where their headquarters is.

The third class explanation... should focus on the chronology of the video...don't jump from one topic to another topic. ...
