I'm tryna learn all this for re 8 and I'm just starting to think it's impossible without playing the games yourself or listening to this over and over again lol.
The simple breakdown is this: A corporation called Umbrella makes a ton of bioweapons that make zombies and other monsters for military use, but are shut down by the government after their viruses infect a city named Raccoon City and the government has to nuke it to stop the spread. Before they're shut down, all their research on bioweapons gets out into the hands of loads of other people through various means, and three former police officers from Raccoon City named Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Leon S. Kennedy dedicate themselves to stopping the spread of bioweapons around the world, then have various adventures in order to do so. That plus the Wikipedia plot of RE 7 should be enough for you to understand RE 8. "Understand" being a relative term here.

The only thing I can't get is why do these people keep going with these bio weapons when every single time is ended horribly like there's never been a successful attempt.
In REvelations 2 there is a secret file where Jill sends a E-Mail to Barry telling him that the scientists are still doing research on her body to check if there is any T-Virus trace on her body
So in the game there are other virus that cause an outbreak other than the T-Virus but in the movie the story revolves around finding a cure for the T-Virus.
Honestly, I feel sorry for people who are spoiling the plot of the games with this video. The RE saga is sooo EPIC. Bar-none best to be experienced first-hand without any spoilers for sure!
3:15 wasn't Jill unconscious during the events of RE2 and woke up days after Leon, Claire and Sherry had left the city? (and not Jill being infected after RE2 like in the video)??
Wesker didn't inject himself with the actual T-virus but an experimental strain of it. There were plagas in RE5, type-2 plagas. The great majority of the enemies in that game are infected with plagas, only some bosses are actually infected with uroboros. I understand why the Revelations games weren't mentioned here BUT, since this is supposed to be a recap for people interested in catching up for RE8 I have to say, Revelations 2 is super important for understanding Resident Evil 8.
How about revelations 1 & 2 ?? I heard rumors & read somewhere about Resident Evil Village is a sequel to RE 7 & RE:R2 .. Some said Resident evil Village is Resident evil Revelations 3

Is there a site, subreddit, a wiki, whatever, to read all about Resident Evil? Are all the titles connected? I really need to play them but I wanna know if everyone of them is connected to each other and if they all need to be played in order to get the importat bits of the story.
It really bums me out that people dont care about Operation Raccoon City. I would give my left leg for it to be made backwards compat on Xbox Series X.

The true timeline is on Leon B on classic RE2 when Ada is "killed" by MR X, the fall is only an alternate ending on Leon A
