Focus 3 RC Sailboat - Maiden Sail

- Joysway Focus 3 build finished! About 6-8 hours of slow careful assembly for this my first attempt at putting together an RC yacht.
The Focus 3 is an update to the Focus 2.
Updates compared to old version:
- Release two color version, Blue and Red.
- Attach jib sail top to the head crane.
- Adjust boom length and sails size to improve sailing.
-Adjust total weight to improve sailing
( hull and sail marking unchanged though ?? ).
Wind speed for the maiden sail was around 5-7 knots gusting to 10 or more.

Yeah buddy, the III is and has been proven to be a lot quicker straight out of the box. Amazing boat for the price...Just change out all lines with a quality braid and clips, swivels etc with quality brass or SS. Down the track, Better servo's and rechargeable Lithium ION battery........The thing will run for a week on 1 charge.
Loved the video mate, These are a solid contender even against the larger IOM's...There is a couple of video's on YT showing the V3 Focus taking line honours and a 3rd and 4th against the larger boats.. Great boat. I sail 1M Laser class but also have one of these in its box ready to be built.

Very nice movie. Got a Focus 2 recently. Have to fiddle some.
How would you rate the Focus V3as an entry level boat? I’m just looking at getting started in the hobby and at the moment it’s leading the race for my first boat
Have you had a chance to sail against the DF95? What are the pros and cons of the two boats?
I like my Focus 2 but we need to get rid of the cloth sails and go to mylar, like the DF class boats. A selection of rig sizes would be nice as well, otherwise how is it a racing class?
It is 1M and they do race them in IOM class mate, just do a YT search, They do quite well too. I will be making my new sails with Kevlar/Mylar...Not sure of Micron yet but will make a huge difference as opposed to ripstop nylon.
