This is absolutely beautiful...and one of Daniel's most haunting vocals ever, imo. Lyric-wise, I get the sense this song is about his time in Silverchair...and who he is now. He's not hating or regretting what he had...and simply being very honest about who he is now. It's actually a very moving song to me...especially as a Silverchair fan for _so many_ years. I've always found Daniel to be someone exceedingly special...a "dangerous boy" indeed. One of those super rare musicians/songwriters/artists for whom music truly was his religion. To me, this song is a nod to that and how blessed/cursed his life has truly been...and about how Daniel "understands why millions" cannot let go of his previous work, but he's at peace with that. I find much of this album to be deeply moving...especially this song.
oh my god couldnt have said it better myself
I feel exactly the same way about this song
Agreed ....
@@Leanniette Hey! I commented back. :) Randomly was thinking about this song today...and decided to pull it up.
I also find it pretty cool to find out other people vibe with my understanding of this song.
It's pretty special...
@@avedic It truly is. This isn't the only song on that album I find to be highly personal/autobiographical either. I really feel he was dropping lots of clues. . . and perhaps, all that honesty, maybe, heightened his anxiety and thus he never toured the album. I know he wants nothing to do with silverchair because some of the songs are painful for him to sing now. I'm certain when he was making this album it was very cathartic for him. He delved deeply into the process of releasing a lot of pent up emotion and complexities from his past--but then to actually sing it and go back to it every night on tour is another story. I'm so thankful he released it at all.
Brilliant...... Daniel's experimentation should be applauded.
I can't remember, it was stranger than we thought, you dangerous boy
Now we don't wanna feel cause we don't wanna hurt anymore
Yeah, we walked, tried to talk in the soundbites, under soft light
And we don't wanna feel cause we don't wanna cry anymore
We are here in the water
Dissolve me, love, dissolve me
We are here with open arms
Dissolve me, love, while it's easy
Now I've been thinking in a different state of mind
I understand why a million songs 'bout a million hearts played on
Cause we fought and we loved and we lived under starlight
Now I don't wanna feel cause I don't wanna cry anymore
Oh, now wait, baby, we were loaded
Oh, now wait, baby, we were giants
We are here in the water
Dissolve me, love, dissolve me
We are here with open arms
Dissolve me, love, while it's easy
We are here in the water
Dissolve me, love, dissolve me
We are here with open arms
Dissolve me, love, while it's easy
Oh, now wait, baby, we were loaded
Oh, now wait, baby, we were giants
We are here in the water
Dissolve me, love, dissolve me
We are here with open arms
Dissolve me, love, while it's easy
Oh, now wait, baby, we were loaded
Oh, now wait, baby, we were giants
We are here in the water
Dissolve me, love, dissolve me
We are here with open arms
Dissolve me, love, while it's easy
Dissolve me, love, while it's easy
Dissolve me, love, while it's easy
One of the best songs of the album
The way he sings "oh now wait, baby we were loaded" 😍
daniel please please continue to make music please release efforts like this more often then not.dont listen to all the burnt out surfers and grunge kids still bumping frogstomp.talk is the best work you have ever done.this is easily one of the greatest albums in the last 5 years please dont make us wait years and years agin
His best work...TALK is phenom..
THIS is the single, not aerial love
Totally..
this is beautiful, sound just like one of the songs from drive soundtruck:)
I keep listening to this song on repeat. ❤️
Daniel You are amazing, You deserve our love
Just what I thought...the NON singles will be the best songs on the album. Why is that always the case these days? I don't get it...
Anyway, I actually quite like this song...Preach is also very cool...and I honestly love the Cool on Fire song and video. Can't believe it....but I'm warming up to Daniel's new project.
Love it. Signature Daniel Johns vocals. sounds so good!
Daniel riff very underated, no more word
All the pain I feel, you will start to heal
Great song!

Good song.

What does "dissolving love" mean in the context of this song? Maybe it means making love less powerful so you don't feel it ("don't wanna feel").
back-to-the-fact I thinks he is using subliminals to talk about his SC group. “We were Giants”, dissolve the love could be addressed to the Silverchair fanbase, as a group he is understanding why a million ppl played his songs but he didn’t want to cry anymore ( he suffered depression in the SC years) we were loaded, we were giants , but now we are here , he is in a different state of mind he is presenting his new reality, I think he’s telling us that its not that hard to do. Dissolve while it’s easy.
But he still speaks of open arms if you dissolve S C you can accept the new him with open arms
Super Nova love that! I’d like to think you’re right. Funnily enough I think his vocals on this sound from a silverchair track.
I don't wanna feel
Kinda Peter Gabriel-ish to me
creativity used to be the most beautiful value thing you ever had,,,and you had loads,,,what happened john? this music is equal to thousands of musicians now-a-days and it doesn't look like your oldest creative music, its sounds very average.
"i don`t wanna feel, cause I don`t wanna cry anymore" Is this maybe the motto of all his new music? superficial lalala, not connected to deeper feelings... Like Jonathan Davis in his time of prozak use. I hope, Daniel Johns will find back to the roots too, I hope he finds the power to go through his emotions instead of denying or supressing pain. This is not good for the soul and not good for the music...
cosmic harmony I tend to agree with you. I don't know what you mean by "back to the roots". If you mean Frogstomp, I think he doesn't need to go back to that, but yes, he shouldn't gloss over his emotions--that doesn't seem like a good thing to do. I have to say, I sometimes like this new album, but sometimes I feel it is too superficial--it doesn't sound like he's being "real".
***** no I didn´t mean frogstomp, just rock music, in this case. I am also for developement and progression, but this new music he does is just flat...
***** its what it is. its daniel
cosmic harmony Do you not find this song utterly gorgeous? It's absolutely beautiful...and one of Daniel's most haunting vocals ever, imo. And oddly...I think this song is precisely about what you are talking about. Idk...if you don't like the new stuff, I totally get it. But I find much of this album to be deeply moving...especially this song.
avedic My first 30 plays of the album I probably vacillated between liking and disliking the album. But I'm at about 100 plays of each song on iTunes now... The song Too Many, when he says something like, "we got the real", that seems so not real, but fake. I think that is the song I dislike the most because of that line. But I do like a lot of the album...not as exciting as Silverchair's music, but it's pretty good. It's not quite as deep emotionally, but...
