      Completely agree wiyh you both. I feel gutted that they never got to witness the explosion when oasis broke America in the 90s, and when liam left the America tour and Noel had to finish it on his own. Those were the days, i think if you dig deep enough there is still documentarys of americans vamping out for days to get Oasis tickets. I am gutted they haven't plugged the Knebworth gigs yet or the supersonic documentary running up to it.

    As a crazy oasis fan from the 90's it's so nice to see new people discover them. They were my ultimate favorite band as a teenager and I have nothing but good memories of all their concerts. Even the last concert I saw in which Liam's voice was shot and they were already not talking to each other. They were truly an amazing band and I fell privileged to have seem them at their height. I still love them and you should definitely react to their solo stuff. Noel's music has really changed lately but Liam is still rocking it out.

    The 250,000 at Knebworth was over two nights guys, 125,000 each night. Knebworth is a country house in Hertfordshire, Southern England, it's grounds have been used for many concerts, probably most famously Robbie Williams or Led Zeppelin. Maine Road was Manchester City's home up until 2003. It doesn't exist anymore. They now play at Etihad Stadium which is where they Oasis played in the 2005 shows you've watched.

    This is the "homecoming" gig.. playing at Maine Road, the home ground of Manchester City, Football Club. Oasis went from 1000 capacity gigs to 50K in 12 months. At the time City were, a bit like the Cubs ( for a USA perspective) a team with vocal and loyal support.. but had won nothing for decades. The history of the band and the football team (who are now the most successful team in the UK for the last decade.) are intertwined. I was there that night, and it remains a pivotal moment in English music history. And to this day... when City win a trophy .. they play Wonderwall in the changing room after...

    • @hannahl8
      @hannahl8 3 года назад +12

      Also, the harmonica player came in too early, which is why both Noel & Liam look at him like wtf? But Liam decided to go with it & also start early not realizing the orchestra would be off. love oasis, they are my generation, but don't dismiss blur. they are equally as important. give them the same love and respect as oasis. 13 is their masterpiece and damon albarn exceeds them all. uk music in the 90's can hold its own to anyone. keep up the love of good music.

      So many great bands from that era that made up the "Britpop" culture of that time. What a time it was to be a teenager. I'm blessed.

    You should watch Oasis at the Etihad too, like at Maine Road it's a home gig being Man City fans. Maine Road was knocked down after City moved to the Etihad which because free after the Commonwealth Games 2002 (mini Olympics). Personally I went to Maine Road twice once for a football game which my team won. Years before I saw Bryan Adams there on his Waking Up The Neighbours Tour. He had 3 warm up acts, Little Angels, Squeeze and Extreme.

      @@weSnooker yeah it's ok but I preferred the old Burnden Park as it had far more atmosphere.
      I saw Bolton win the League One Championship at Maine Road in 1997. What a night that was.
