Was a bit annoyed after mine did the same 3 times in a row.
Your vid made me smile 😁😆
It's a brand new press so figured I'd try an alternative and sprayed with silicone, it seems to have worked.
Love those easy fixes.
Me too!

Learn something and entertainment !!! Thank ya

Bottle jack great idea. )They're powerful, more than trolley. And work horizontally; I used two to push a stump away from a wall.) But when you have to release it? I got some thing mole grips on top and hit down. Needed to release cos cheap plastic guard had split off and when I glued it back together I had to release mandrel. I'm looking for a vid on repairing guard, yet you don't even have one!
Thanks for vid
Ah, the great bottle jack release debate! It's like trying to solve a Rubik's cube blindfolded, right? Don't worry, you're not alone in your struggles. But hey, at least you found a creative solution with the mole grips and hitting down! Thanks for sharing your experience and watching the video!
Holy sh** that is funny right there! I need to clean / reseat my drill press. Admittedly mine is a lot newer than that one, probably 30 years old or less. Bought it used so not really sure...
Yea my drill is old like me lol
Yep that’s whaat needs to be done. Good idea with the bottle ja city. The only thing I would do would have the jaws recessed in the chuck. Other than that good tip Pete. Did ya get the pictures ? Have a great day.
Thanks for the tips! yep got them looks good does it work well?
With scores and marks on the shaft, what about lapping chuck & shaft with some valve grinding paste?
Wow cool idea thanks
Before doing this hide the jaws of the chuck to protect them
cool thanks
He he heeeee 🤣 thank you sir the jack worked👍
No problem 👍
Have a good one mate😎
Cheers
Thank you I tried the hammer but never thought to try a jack
Cool
Holy....proper way is to clean the surfaces, heat the chuck to about 50-80 Celsius and put it on the shaft. Will not budge, will not whack your bearings nor will it bend/crack your table.
Thanks good idea
Thank you! Great idea.
I cleaned both surfaces with solvent, then heated with a torch trying to reach your 50-80C temperature band and slapped it on. Hasn't come off yet!! Thank you!!
Heating the chuck makes absolutely no sense
@@kali9024 Heating the chuck causes it to expand, making the opening bigger. It shrinks when it cools, gripping the shaft.
I’ve heard talc powder is super fine abrasive to give “traction”to the fit, I used blue loctite and no issues
Oh cool idea cheers
@@petestools be safe in this crazy world
I have this problem on a newly delivered Titan. I don't expect much from a relatively cheap brand, but I don't expect the chuck to fall off that easily.
It shouldn't fall off mate send it back.
@@petestools It's boxed and ready to go. I'll try and find an older and reliable brand.
Just been the hospital dropped the Jack on me toe but it worked,it’s not falling out now you are a Can do Aussie here in the Mother Country we just go buy another cheap Chinese import we don’t make them any more cheap imports closed all our industries top to bottom.Cheers🇬🇧
Bad luck .Hope the jack is ok
?
This happens with my 25 year old Ryobi all the time.
crikeys mate
lol
Why didn’t you use glue for metal?
Because I wanted to give the metal a chance to shine without any sticky situations!
liked for the accent heheheheeeee
KIWI -YEEE HAA
Just tighten the nut up behind the chuck but you did that off camera
Did i really .I am glad you know thanks for telling me.
I had it today falling on top of my hand :( Hit my index finger :0
