People who weren't alive during live aid don't understand what a huge event it was.
This was a time before the internet, when live tv from around the world was very rare. Also, most tv stations shut down at midnight with the national anthem. Nowadays the world is connected and time zones or distance don't matter. There are hundreds of 24hr tv stations.
So this massive gig comes along. All the biggest and best groups and artists in the world doing a 24 hour live gig.
I was a kid, i watched it all day and night.
It was awesome.
It was an AMAZING feat. Just when you consider the technology (or lack there of) that existed at the time. God Bless Bob Geldoff for his strength of will to pull Live Aid off. He never gave up he was “like a dog with a bone” 🦴Simply tenacious. Yep and I’m old enough to remember station tests, the National Anthem being played at the “days end” of broadcasting. SIGH the simpler days.

Never thought I would stream a movie but this masterpiece will be the exception. I cry every time I've seen it on the big screen. Thank you for bringing Freddie back to life even if only for a few hours.

@@mihnea4307 He's not a copy. His voice isn't his doing. He gets compared to Freddie no matter which song he does, he simply cant escape the Freddie references. I can't see either why a Queen fan wouldn't want a Freddie Mercury soundalike at a Queen concert atleast ONCE just to hear the real deal (essentially). If anything, Adam Lambert is the Freddie copycat since he dresses like Freddie, acts like Freddie and moves like him during the shows. The only thing keeping him from being a great copycat is precisely that his voice isn't near as good as Freddie's.
He is great! Don't have other like Freddie Mercury. He is unique! The best!

Rami is just so wonderful. He was so good at being Freddie. That casting director is phenomenal for choosing actors that not only look uncannily similar to the original band members, but could also learn to mimic their movements almost perfectly.
