With that setup, I can run a battery brick THROUGH the Receiver that I plug into my smartphone... in this situation, the battery brick keeps my phone charged up, even while it is recording. If I record for a long period of time, my smartphone will be completely charged with this setup.
I used it on the GoPro, but I have to use a mic setup like this, but offers the TRS to TRS 3.5mm mini plug, because the GoPro will not allow anything without using the Dongle, but I can STILL use that USB-C to keep the GoPro charged up and record for more than four hours (motorcycle ride), I am not sure the GoPro battery gets charged up (it should), but I can also use this setup with the GoPro without using the battery in the GoPro, and just depending on the Battery Brick.
I am picking up the Action 5 Pro, and I believe the setup you have here will work there... try using a USB-C EXTENSION cable, and plug the USB-C receiver into that, and then the USB-C into the camera... that should not block your start button / power button, and it should still work!
These little microphones are great, they have like automatic noise reduction, and the first time I used them was outside, and I can get pretty far away from the receiver - further than I even would, and they work flawlessly, just charge them up the day of, or day before a video... and also, a battery brick is great to have on hand to charge things up in the field.... oh, and on that note, if you have a small battery brick that outputs the right power, you can use that in your pocket, and run a wire to the microphone, and it will work that way too!
I test a LOT of microphones!

Just got a similar pair off TikTok shop and they work great. what housing/cage are you using for your Action 4? I’m using the DJI one and have to remove it in order to plug the mic adapter in the side because that cage is partially blocking the USB-C port. Thanks!

Hello, can it work with pocket 2 without microphone extention , or only with active version 3..4 ?

The Pocket 2 has four little mic holes and works remarkably well. If you are just walking around and vlogging, it should suffice. The external mic connection is really useful if you have a second person with you or if you plan on stepping away from the camera but need exceptional audio.

@@toddventure yep that's what i need to walk away from camera but keep recording... how do you think would it work , or pocket 2 need that crwator combo mic box? Thank You for the answering.

Unfortunately, you have to use the DJI Wireless Microphone System for the Pocket 2. It does, however, work on the DJI Osmo Action 4. Once I get the Pocket 3, I will post my findings. A lot of the Pocket 3 platform is based on Action 4. I'm hoping with the upgrades we aren't stuck with the DJI wireless mics for the Pocket 3.
