Very happy to see this exotic finally realise its potential , giving titans so much freedom in what subclass they can run whilst still benefit ting your team .Bunjie did good with this
FINALLY this exotic is getting the recognition it deserves! This was my fave off meta build I put together when Ember of Mercy dropped. You become truly unkillable, and it lets me fulfill the D&D power fantasy of being something *other* than a brawler. You can be a paladin, a mobile healing tank pulling aggro and cleansing the battlefield with fire!
I paired precious scars with banner of war and ripped through the Warlords Ruin dungeon Solo Flawless and I barely remember my health getting low enough where you get that warning boom once. Absolutely un-killable with Woven Mail thrown into the mix. Just keep proc'ing banner of war and killing shit (I used Quicksilver) for near constant restoration. For the meatball boss I didnt even have to hide really, I had no problems just standing out in the open killing enemies and doing my thing while he boomed down his attacks at me.....Never in danger of dying. All hail the weird looking Condom on your head.
@@channysingh11 Nothing special at all. I would hit him with 3 grenades from my Quicksilver storm real quick and then pop my 'Bladefury' super and throw the suspending projectiles at him until Damage phase is over. This will take a bit longer than using a meta build but I did not care because its what I was comfortable with(Sword in my heavy spot) and knew it would get me to my Solo Flawless. I think I went around the arena 4 times with the meatball boss before I finally got to last stand. Entire fight took me about an hour and 20 minutes.
I have been using this all weel and its crazy how good it is at keeping you and your teammates alive. One thing to note though aboit emperion: its kinda bugged where if precious scars gives you restoration it resets it back to 3 seconds instead of adding more seconds. Best to use solace, where it doesnt reset so you basically get 5 seconds added every time your proc it(its 3 seconds normally and can proc every 3 seconds, not 5 as you said at base.). Also, I've been pairing it with Tommy's matchbook. It negates the self damage and you have some insane damage because of it. With ashes, you can ignite twice, and if you also have searong every kill gives melee energy and grenade energy for great ability regen. You have to try it
@@wollswayne Sure. weapon wise I pair it with apex predator with reconstruction and bait and switch, and a blinding GL with autoloading(I use pardon out dust myself). You could use a controled burst fusion or shotgun for more damage but i love the utility the GL brings especially in harder content. saved myself and teammate so many times Aspects are sol invictus and consecration. you dont need roaring flames at all since you are really not using your abilities too much, so I like to toss in consecration for some big damage sometimes, and with searing you get your melee back so fast you barely are without a melee. Otherwise I use rally barrier(but towering is fine for more protection in here end content, just like the extra reload), throwing hammer to get radiant easy, and fusion grenades for some more burst damage especially with the seasonal mod(but you can toss is healing grenade as an oh crap heal option if you want) Fragments are torches for radiant, searing for the melee recharge and fire sprites on scorched enemy kills, which is easy with tommys, solace for longer duration of radiant and restoration and its not glitched/funky like emperion and you dont lose 10 res, and ashes for more scorch stacks so if you lay on the trigger with tommys on a yellow bar you get a fast ignition, even faster with the seasonal mod if you start shooting before you overheat the gun. notable armor mods are triple solar reloader since it has a poor reload speed and helps reload apex faster during boss dps. I also have double solar surge and recurperation on legs. time dialation on mark. harmonic siphon, heavy ammo scout and finder on helmat since tommys is an exotic primary you can be pooping out heavy breaks for yourself and allies.. chest i have solar reserves for more rockets but you can run resist mods if you are in very high end content Hope you like! sorry if the wall of text is a bit much
Yes! Great note. It will reset the timer back to the cooldown of the 3 seconds each time the 5 second timer refreshes. Bizarre interaction but luckily doesn’t impact resto all that much because of how quickly you extend it.
I went to this exotic two days ago with solar. Tommy's Matchbook finally, finally has an insanely good exotic to pair with it to make it feel extremely powerful and fun.
Precious scars + graviton lance + " That fragment that gives you over shield when you're at low health" = the most aggressive PvP build I've ever used.
I'ma try it out in pvp because of the artifact perk that makes you radiant getting a kill with a solar weapon...that's so much easier then hitting somebody with a mini hammer to become radiant...plus I'd like to take one eyed mask off for a change
I've used PS to solo two GM's since the last buff it got a while back, and I've used it in PVP in trials. Extremely slept on exotic that just got way better.
IMO. I think Tommy’s matchbook should be on the solar weapons list. With it wound up and always scorching it basically allows you to just walk through hordes of enemies with infinite restoration if your dropping fire sprits as well.
I absolutely love what Bungie did with Precious Scars. Even as a Titan main, I took a lot of enjoyment by being the Team Support for years now and would run that build all the time. But, I still can’t help but feel sad. As I said, I regularly was a Support Titan, and before PS change the best exotic of choice was Phoenix Cradle. But due to PS getting its change, there is practically no point running PC anymore. Everything it can do, PS does better. Plus the Sunspot and Throwing Hammer nerf, make Sunspot maintenance and creation more difficult as well. I really hope Bungie revisits PC as an Exotic to get a rework, that way it can have its own identity.
Phoenix Cradle is still better as a support exotic for solar titan. It gives teamates restoration, ability regen, and longer supers. Which can proc ember of benevolence. It also doubles the duration of sol invictus for both you and allies. I still think precious scars is a very good option, as it can work on multiple subclasses.
Tried using scars and for some reason despite using the matching weapons and subclasses my healing was still abysmal. Restoration 1x just isn’t good enough anymore. Not when you have access to so many other ways to get healing.
In solo situation, i think Lorley is better if you’re running solar. Having healing nade and beinf able to heal & buff by popping barricade is probably better than Precious Scar’s kill to proc part.
I was absolutely baffled when almost zero youtubers were really talking about the buff this thing got when it dropped. I haven't mained titan for awhile now, but since the patch I've been playing with my scars titan and basically nothing else lol. Currently rolling solar just because all the artifact mods are so fun. (Btw: polaris lance is nutty this season, give it a try :)). But man... strand and void, in particular, look like tons of fun/utility as well. Haven't taken it into pvp yet but I can see it being silly there too. Less duration but even the little bit of health it gives back could be a game changer (just ask wormhusk hunters how useful a little health bump can be). AND it is party wide. AND you get the rez bonus for trials. Looking really seriously like I'm gonna be a titan main for a few months lmao.
It's buff isn't really a game changer, solar titans already have perma restoration, void has devour, overshield and invis, arc has healing on punch and spark of res, strand has banner and woven mail, stasis has dmg reduction and shard healing. The only thing scars does for players who know how to survive is take a utility slot from wormgods or whatever your damage buff of choice is
has anyone tested if precious scars plays well with teammates who already have resto x2 going? it'd make me sad if i caused their x2 to downgrade to x1...
I actually made this build with banner of war last season to carry my new light friends through a bunch of content. Really hard to die. But it just got better Also karnstein armlets are crazy now
So this gives base restoration meaning it’s absolutely worthless or did you not pay attention to the fact that bungie just nerfed restoration again for like the 5th time

Pair it with ember of benevolence to have a 400% ability regen up all the time. Use then the fusion grenades for an almost endless grenade bombardment
Does having Benevolence work when you're solo? Like can you have that 400% ability regen rate when no allies are near?
