Your closing words hit me hard. Even after our team couldn't beat Challenge Mode and spent approximately 27 hours just to end our Third challenge three minutes after last reset. I was devasted by this outcome. And yet here i am. thanks for your words. They really made it for me

Toad, you have NO right making boss intros that hit so hard. The camera techniques, the animation quality, the MUSIC. My god the piano was shivering. Like a mix of the old classical I love and something more contemporary like Pokémon fight themes.

Crota got sick of us unplugging the ethernet cord from his knee so he unplugged the ethernet cord from our sanity
It's always when I lay down and watch your Day One vids that I realize how far my team and I have come. We always plan on running for the entirety of the raid race event, but this time, due to unfortunate circumstances, we were down two Guardians for about 24 hours. And still, within only 7 of these 24 hours we had left, we did beat the Normal and Challenge run; and then I helped out a team of friends so I did actually beat both the normal Clear AND Challenge Clear twice in those 48 hours. It was an insane day, but I'm so proud of having this be done and achieved. I just wish Bungie would give me my god damn emblem.

during my first run on this raid my fireteam has gone crazy by the time we got to Crota, they were talking about Elsie having...robopubes

Yesterday I sadly had to lay to rest my two precious rats that I raised from tiny babies. Eris and Ahsoka were bonded biological sisters and lived a full happy life, only recently turning 2 years old. But they started to be weighed down and pained by inoperable tumors and it was time for them to rest. It's been hard for me to smile today but this video did the trick. Your videos always lift me up when I'm feeling down, Toad. Thank you for creating such awesome and hilarious content, it helped ease my pain for a bit and made my day a little brighter.

This video was exactly what I needed today though, it got a good laugh out of me and helped me feel some joy again. Having Cynthia's theme play for crota was possibly the best choice you could have made. As a veteran if pokemon it sent chills down my spine.
I had gotten stonewalled at Ir Yut on contest mode which stinks. Ended up finishing in normal mode and omg the difference between contest and normal is so huge. Went from barely hurting Ir Yut with our full arsenal to almost one phasing her.
Honestly though it was just as I predicted with so many going in expecting that it would be super easy because of how much the D1 version was meme'd on and getting planted like trees. lol
It SEEMS like as the times go on n with each vid/stream i watch that Lochi is getting more n more comfortable n confident in herself and speaks louder n its lovely to see!
When my team did the bridge, before we realized we could send two people across, we were using things like deathbringer to help our teammate

Going to the boss in contest mode take 2 hours to my team, but the boss was the real challenge

I learn more watching your team fail than when i watch raid guides.
Sadly my group wasn't able to do contest mode on day 1 but me and 2 of my friends who weren't busy went into it and got through the abyss part as a 3 man in contest mode. Took about 3 hours to do but we did it
Crota did not forget the bullying from d1 so while we were fighting the other enemies of the darkness he was training just so he can beat the guardian ass again
In contest mode my team got to Deathsinger on Friday night, then spend a total of 11 hours between Friday and Saturday trying to beat her and through in the towel Saturday night. We gathered again on Sunday and breezed through normal mode in 2 hours lol.
On the og footage of day 2, check with vlc if there’s a separate audio track with your mic isolated from the rest of your audio 25:46

Best advice I can give for any day 1 raid have a blinding grenade launched ready it made bridge MUCH easier. Crota was rough though.

'Achievement, took you long enough' is just the Day 1 experience and I loved that/it had me rolling XD
Can very heavily see the pain at bridge though. I know my team wasn't really feeling this day one/had a lot of members that just didn't want to take it as serious as it needed to be taken, and the bridge ended up being a sticking point that almost dropped our team. It ended up actually doing so later at Crota just due to the lack of moral, but the bridge was just butts and the only thing that made use even complete it was the realization you can take the chalice over and then DUNK it in order to not be on a timer, allowing use to run over, boop and clear out the adds as the sword kills the dude, then just take the chalice back.
But yeah, this one was a doozy. I personally have FEEEeeelings about the chalice and it's design and how much I don't like it, but I can leave that sitting in my tiny video I made just to vent that frustration xD. Raid required a lot from people though, but the catharsis in steam rolling it on normal was nice at the very least. Couldn't get this day one, but I don't think I personally would have wanted it anyway. I will hold Kings Fall D2 edition close to my heart and wait to see what Final Shape brings.
Glad you all could go about rolling it on Monday though! Good stuff. And really nice little animated scenes between the victory's too! Really nice additions that added a lot to the whole story of the video!

The only way my team was able to beat the bridge encounter was the first 2 or 3 people going over were on arc with blinding grenades, plus a disorienting GL. They can't kill ya if they can't see ya.

My day 1 team was half lfgs and half friends it took us 10 or so hours to complete the normal mode (with a few lfg changes) and then we got together a god squad that beat challenge in 4 hours

I had genuinely one of the most heart breaking day ones ever. Spent over 19 hours with my original team but everyone flaked on crota contest I then lfged and got contest crota done and then I saw an Evanf1997 tweet that they needed a sixth for challenge mode and I finished it out at 47 hours and got my emblem

My respect goes out to you and your team. My day 1 team made it to Deathsinger. Damage was fine but we never had enough res tokens by final stand and a wipe was inevitable. I think I spent 8 hours on both days in total.
Given healthy gaming is only supposed to be a few hours at a given time, I think if you destroy your eyes and brain cells, and bring 5 others to share in the pain, you deserve the completion and so do they. If an ideal contest mode is a 5 on a scale of 1-10 where 1 is easy and 10 is impossible, Crota’s is like a 6 or 6.5 while RoN was a 2.5.
I’m just content that Crota’s end being hard was because of small hairline errors that our team could improve on and not because the raid itself was absolute BS.

That first encounter is arguably the hardest part of the raid off contest. I really liked this day 1 though. The difficulty was nice I just wish they gave an emblem for beating the raid on contest but not doing challenge. Basically 2 emblem for a day 1.
Nah we already know so much going in on recurring raids it’s totally fair to want 2 clears for the emblem ffs they give you 48 hours now and gave you the exotic for one run just be happy with that imo
