For anyone wondering this does not fix the recent random stuttering issues that started since Dragonflight Pre-Patch. Seems to be either Driver related or the game itself.

Vertical Sync i recomended enable on laptops. Most of laptops get really hot in gaming and have most 60hz monitors. Vectial sync provide to have stable 60fps and not more. In this case latop will not overheat in low usage zones and still have max fps for monitor.

Great information. In between jobs and was collecting parts for a new build when this decision was made. I decided to just use an old laptop with a crummy GPU that is super low end. I had turned everything down before and undervolted the GPU with great success. Before it was running at 70-73c and with how thing this thing is, it was burning my hand. After having undervolted the gpu, the laptop was down to 64c which is more manageable AND the frame dropped from 74fps to 54fps. Which these tips and not adjusting the graphics from where they were before, the fps increased from 54fps to 77fps constant.
Will have a new job within a week or two and then I will resume ordering the remaining components needed for new PC. With that said, I will of course run max graphics AND do these settings for best performance on that machine too.

  • @rebjorn79
    @rebjorn79 2 года назад +2

Good one. Please note that if you've set a hard limit of 60 fps for example via other programs or the gpu control panel, it may help you to set it to slightly higher in game. For me i keep the 'target fps' in game at 67, this way the dynamic downscaling will kick in before it hits 60 fps, which is the maximum allowed anyway.

Love your guides Panjno, but I have a question (or to anyone else reading this)! This guide did improve the performance, but I am experiencing texture flickering. I tried downgrading GPU drivers (as there are rumours new drivers could cause this), installed monitor drivers (as I use a new one), tweaked a lot with in-game settings, then followed this guide again - flickering still persists. My setup:
    CPU: Intel i7-4790K
    GPU: Nvidia 1660 Ti (MSI)
    RAM: 16 GB
    Monitor: 4K Asus VG289Q
    Game resolution: 3840x2160
Video cable used between monitor and GPU: DisplayPort 1.2 (should meet the standards and requirements of 4K 60 FPS gaming)
Graphic drivers: used the newest first (460.89 at the time), then downgraded to 441.66 (as there are no complaints about flickering around and after its release date) and now I am running 452.06 (drivers issued for Shadowlands expansion).
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I would really love to get rid of it and at the same time maintain reasonable graphics quality. Thanks so much for any kind of feedback and have a nice Christmas time!

I'd only add the detail that when you're using Intelligent Standby List Cleaner you should run cmd as administrator and input the following command "bcdedit /set useplatformtick yes" so the current time resolution matches the maximum current resolution perfectly.

How do I undo all these changes, do I have to just do it manually? I did this and it took my fps from 90 down to 25, not sure what happened

With windows 11, should I use the "Variable refresh rate" feature which appears under the default graphics settings?

You've got a 3080 and your settings are Good Fair and Low when it can all be high with no issues in performance 🤔......I'm running a 1660 super with no dramas on all highs - what you playing at?

I have a 3060 And maintain around 80-100 fps solo. In a 5 man dungeon I will get 60-80, but in a 40 man or body part of the Maw/Korthia, especially farming the Fallen Charger, I get 30-40.
Is I am running at ultra 1440P. Maxed out. It honestly depends what you are doing. Perhaps he runs in large groups and needs to free up his video card to handle the extra textures.

Heya! Nice video but I got a little side question. You appear to have an rtx 3080 as well ever since I installed mine I get a weird shadow flickering whenever I turn off raytracing. Do you know what could cause this? I'd like to show off the flickering but as soon as I start any form of screen recording it stops.
I got all up to date drivers and even removed the old nvidia driver with ddu already
