    Bobby Jones and many other greats are proof the hips can not be over rotated. As long as the lead hip lowers and the trail hip raises crucial pelvic tilt will be achieved at the top. If the pelvis is rotated flat the trail glut will not be loaded properly and transition will suffer. With proper hip tilt anyone can wind the hips as far as humanly possible. Over hip rotation is a misdiagnosis of proper hip rotation. Bobby Jones did some funky things with his wrists and arms but his pivot was one of the greatest ever. The lead knee must break back and down and the trail knee must straighten to some degree in order to have the proper tilt. Over rotation of the hips is just B.S. As always another great video Shawn.
    Thanks Shawn #1

    I had one of my best drives of the year using less effort last week. The fairway is literally 10 paces wide and I split the fairway with the straight drive. It was longer then any other drive I had previously on that hole, even though it was cold (under 50 degrees Fahrenheit) and a very wet fairway.

What could be some possible causes (supposing my swing speed is actually similar to yours)?

    Hi Shawn, JK from old RH winter practice. Just had last round of year, best driving round yet! Your insights are great. Had two questions. (1) Bryson certainly doesn't do the "low strain" swing. I wonder if less strain would lead to more consistency for him especially in pressure situations? (2) The "full range of motion" but try to hit driver only 175 yards, is something you mentioned a few times, and great way to reset tempo. Very instructive how far the ball goes with 1/10 on effort. Is it actually possible to only hit the driver 175 with full range of motion? Did Paine Stewart "cover a blanket" out at that distance?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад

      Bryson goes hard and then dials it down in his events; only goes full out at long drive competitions. Yes, but Payne used a persimmon driver and that was easier to pull off!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад

      Yes, I have noticed that movement; this is classic when you see golfers with dancing feet, it means the stance does not fit the shot (because they were taught to set up classically) and then they have to blow out of that stance to actually execute the shot they need! Good video suggestion!! Thank you!!
