Thanks for the vid. Answered a lot of questions I couldn't get from anyone else. Removing for the same reason, think the connector on the SRS Module is bad. Hope so… might be the PPS in the seat… hope not.
    Anyway, thanks alotA

Good video but how does the side panel come off?

The side panels are just clipped in but you have to remove the seat on both sides if your trying to get the console out just the 2 bolts on the back part of the seat track and lift forward and slide back and out then just pull gently outward to get them off

@@bartlett1389 Thank you for the response. I have to remove console completely in an Enclave to dry it out completely and check all the connections after a sunroof drain line failure.

And what about disconnecting the shift cable, and all the wire cables to the upper dash?

The wires have connectors on the right side of the console and I never disconnected the shift to get to the airbag module

@@chrisosiecki8050 that's what I had to do also but the passenger side drain wasn't connected to the elbow to go through the firewall and it filled the battery compartment and took out the airbag module and the fuse box under the dash on that side good luck with your project

Just curious was the SDM bad or was it the wiring, looking to do the same repair, but not sure if I should try to clean connectors and apply dialetric grease before ordering a new sdm module as they are pricy, i had water leak issues previously, any advice? Are there electrical components that need to be disconnected in the console as well? Or did you just move it to the side to access the floor compartment that houses the sdm? Thanks in advance.

the sdm was infact bad it was flooded inside you could hear water inside on top of that in the passenger side door sill on the floor there is a wire harness that runs along the floor and that has a red and white wire running through it that has a splice\junction that controls the sdm the roll over sensor and the pps in the seat that wire is the power that runs to the fuse box under the dash on the passenger side and i had to replace that too because the water leaking in from the sun\moon roof drain not being connected i was able to get a used box from a you pull it and had to program the "new" sdm and roll over sensor there is 2 or 3 wire connectors on the passenger side of the console that need to disconnected check all of the connectors for corrosion also if there is corrosion get some electrical cleaner and an old tooth brush and clean it the best you can i hope this helps cause when i did her car i had nothing to go by ps wife says check your DRAINS and good luck

@@bartlett1389 Thanks a ton. I was thinking about pulling a sdm because they are pricey, but was worried about pulling a sdm from a vehicle which potentially had an accident and air bags deployed. Would this be an issue if this were the case or would the sdm still be usable? Is there a strategy to make sure you pull an sdm that is in proper working order? Aka a way to test it? I wouldnt want to pull a bad one or one with accident history stored if this could cause an issue. Also were you able to drive the vehicle once you installed the sdm to the dealership to have it programmed or did you need to have it towed? I'm assuming both front seats must come out to remove console? Again thanks so much, really appreciate it.

@@kirktaillon1950 one of the ways i can think of for making sure that the sdm is good is get one from a car with out the sun\moon roof and when you are there you can look at all the connections and make sure that it is as clean as a whistle an as for when you do install it MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED you don't want to go to put it in and you set off all of the airbags that would make for a bad day now as for driving it to the dealer you can drive it still your light stay on but the car is ok to drive you just won't have your airbags working in the event of a front end crash until you get the "new" box programmed i did this one with my autel scanner in my drive way after installing it so my advice would be call the dealer and see what they say or even call local shops and see if they can do it for you

@@bartlett1389 Hello, I think the issue I'm having might actually be electrical in nature. I see you mentioned that you replaced the power wire that runs from the fuse box under the door sill and to a splice junction. Is the splice junction under the carpet on the passanger side? And if so do I need to remove the passenger seat or anything else to lift the carpet to get at it?
I'm assuming I have to remove the dash to access the wiring at the back of the fuse box?
Is it possible to just clean the splice connections? Not sure what this looks like, or is replacing the wiring required?
      Thanks a ton!
