I would enjoy longer videos by you. Your enthusiasm for the items you feature is what sells me on a product because it's not advertising hoopla but actual usage feedback. I've bought a lot of things which you are enthused about and often right after I watch the video. Keep up the good work!
I rather like longer videos. My EDC for a long time was a BUCK 110. Unfortunately, it was very limited to just cutting. Then, when multi-tools became popular, I got a Gerber multi-tool. I carry one to this day. I worked it hard. The only problem I had was breaking the knife blade. Lifetime warranty took care of that. I ALWAYS get the deal for a few bucks more. Then I split it with my brother.

1. Episode length should follow the women’s skirt rule. Long enough to cover the subject, short enough to be interesting. 2.;Tite Bond makes a waterproof glue. I buy the gallon and refill the 8 oz application bottle. I use it in less than 2 years. They also make the thicker, faster drying glue but I used the smaller size. 3. The Work Pro information is valuable since a knife is so versatile and necessary. This type of information and knowledge is where you shine. That tip alone is well worth the price of admission to your show!

First of all 18 minutes is not very long. Your videos are very entertaining and informative. I too watch several RUclips channels that are much longer. My EDC is very similar to the WORKPRO and it’s called or made by MOSSY OAK and when I purchased it it came in a two pack. I like you when I see something even though I don’t need it I buy it!!! Great v today. 👍
Your videos are so great. The time flies for me as well. Thanks for the F pipe wrench lesson. I didn’t know they were so useful for smooth pipes. I’m also a big fan of Tacky Glue. It works great on leather. Very strong bond.
Hey John, Elmer's Glue broke my elbow - true story. Like most houses of the era on Long Island our stoops were made from brick. Well, the one out our back door had a loose brick - top right one if you're looking from inside the house. So instead of getting a bag of concrete and securing it forever my Mom used a good portion of a bottle of Elmer's on it. Worked great for years, until I was about 10 years old and went flying out the back door to go over a friends house. Well, my routine was fling the screen door open, hit the stoop with my right foot first, then plant the left foot on that top corner brick and catapult myself off the top step and to the right and land about 6 feet away on the path made from pieces of slate. On that day though Ol' Elmer gave up his strength and the brick dislodged as I was pushing off it and I went down hard and cracked my right elbow on that slate. Fractured it - the only time, knock on wood, that I broke a bone.

ScoutCrafter, If there was a concern with the crack you could use a Dremel (pencil) grinder to expose the crack. Dye penetrant testing would show when the crack was completely removed. You could then weld the wrench. The wrench could be ground, sanded, and polished to return the luster to the wrench. Some heat treatment may be needed. My guess is that leaving the crack as is is the best answer. Bob
I bought the box of 3 Workpro knives and the day they showed up I ordered 3 more and I carry one everyday. Their thin they snap out and very lightweight, perfect for EDC. I have never been a fan of Leatherman though I can see where it would be handy if I was kidnapped, just don't like to fidget with a tool to get to what I need. Great tip on the glue I'll be sure my wife watches. She also carries a Workpro knive everyday. Great show and if you make them longer I'll be happy.
I have carried a Leatherman crunch in my pocket every day for going on 15 years. I must have somewhere around 50 or 60 different multi tools/Leatherman type pocket tools and I love each one for a different reason. But the crunch has always been exactly what I need when I need it in my particular line of work 👍🏻. PS you are now the reason I own three new utility knives, because what kind of MANIACS would pass up on that kind of deal?!? 😂
That Swiss Multi-tool is really impressive! It looks like they don't carry it anymore and I must admit, I'm glad as I would of had to purchase it. :D BTW, my videos need to be short, as I'm not as entertaining as you. :D
A few years ago, I found a small knife at Walmart. It's a Gerber, liner lock. The blade is about 2 inches long, and the steel is hard, and I say that because it requires some effort to put an edge on it. It weighs next to nothing, super slim, and literally gets lost in your pocket. But the simplicity, and the weightlessness, together with hardness of the blade just can't beat as EDC's go.
I think most folks who watch your channel do not worry about the length of the videos. I normally use Titebond III for the extra working time. I will have to try the Tacky Glue. Dave.

Been carrying the Gerber for several years. But like you I am a sucker for products seen on internet. I saw the Workpro several week ago and ordered it.
My youngest son got me started collecting and using different knives. He go me the Gerber utility knife several years ago, been carrying it ever since. Small world. (Just ordered the 3 pack of Workpro knives! You are a bad influence!)😮

John, i always had a Leatherman but the one you had is much better for utility purposes , You are always afraid of breaking the blade of the Leatherman but with the one you have there's no worry the blade is interchangeable

John, I've been using the Gerber EAB Lite for ~10 years and find it one of the sleekest utility knives around. It clips nicely in my 5th pocket. They even sell (via 3rd party) a knurled thumb stud that replaces the blade retention screw. However, I'll most likely replace my slotted screw with a proud cap screw in order to assist with single handed opening.

Great video ScoutCrafter. On your closing remarks about being someone who likes a good deal, I’m reminded of that old tired joke about the man that stops at a roadside vegetable stand. Since sales were slow the farmer tells the man, I can give you as many vegetables as you want for only a dollar. The man says great, give me five dollars worth.😂😂
I sometimes apply living attributes to things. This wrench is a real phoenix . It was like rescuing a downer animal that became a happy friend. This wrench had some hell of a journey and it never expected in a thousand years to get such attention and world wide exposure. From a value of 25 cents to fame to this extent would have made the original owners and the makers eyes pop out.
20 minutes is the perfect time for a video. Any longer, and I'll often pass it by. I like the workpro knife. The hardest thing about an EDC is keeping it sharp. That's obviously not a problem with these. I'm sure I'll get the three and give one to my grandson and his dad.
That was an excellent tutorial on the forces at play in that wrench. I love a good diagram 😂. I just started following ”inheritance machining” he typically starts his videos with a narrative while he drafts his project. The drawings are really a work of art in my mind. Cheers

Well Whaddya know - Workpro Folding Knife - "Currently unavailable" ! 😉😂 I was looking it up before I finished the video, and yes "BOGOF", 3for2, you name it I'm there for a "bargain" regardless of need ! Do you ever buy an item, then see it cheaper so buy it again ? 🤣 My EDC for many years now has been my Victorinox classic SD Inox, tiny but handy, and conforms to our strict UK knife laws ! My Leatherman Super 200 from 2002 comes away with me whenever I travel.

Good day Scoutcrafter, I really hate (just kidding) when you make recommendations, like you said I am one of the guys who will go and buy or look for the tools you talk about. But for me, since I live here in Indonesia the prices for things are WAY so much more than you recommend. Like the Workpro you just talked about I really want one, but here they are 4x the price as in the States. Damn. but keep up, I still love the videos.
Have you seen the Leatherman Skeleton. That is EDC. They designed it to be lighter by slim lining and cutting out sections of the frame. I’m guilty of buying multiples also, but tend to give the other ones to my two daughters depending on what it is.

A tool is usable to me until it flies all to pieces. Cracks mean nothing. Just ventilation maybe. I like the Workpro knives but I started out with an Uncle Henry but ended up toting a Victorinox Swiss Army knife till the handles wore out and the emblem fell off. I still have it in my dinner box but since I quit work it just sits there, waiting.I ought to send it off to get it rebuilt but really no need. Still structurally sound. I toted it around in there for a long time while I was still working too and NEVER had a discouraging word to say about anything that Victorinox made and still don't. And YAAY for the 'F'-style wrench. Have a wonderful week, however the videos are will be fine with me and God Bless YOU!
Sir SC: great lesson on the forces of the wrench. at first, I too was concerned for usability of the F style wrench. At the end of your videos, I am always wanting more. I will have to give the wacky Tacky glue a try. My EDC is a Benchmade Triage knife. Heavy duty blade I can pry with if needed. Hook on the opposite end of the blade for cutting seatbelts. I use it a lot to cut string, strapping and clamshell packages. One end has a carbide tip for breaking windshields/glass. Fortunately, I haven't had a need for it yet.
Before you are in the unfortunate situation of having to use it: It is not a windshield glass breaker, it's for tempered glass and the windshield are laminated. That is, they have a plastic layer sandwiched between the glass and it will not break properly with a hardened tip breaker (carbide, for example). Windshields generally have to be cut after breaking, the Victorinox Rescuetool has that function but it's a bad way to get into a car. The side windows are the way to go, they are tempered which means that they shatter into many small "pearls", usually not too sharp (compared to a regular glass window in a house). Also, go for a corner, not the middle of the window.

I like knives, have carried a Craftsman lock back utility knife as a quick go to, has a wood inlay with a pocket clasp so I don’t even to dig in my pocket, it sets inside the top front pocket, easy to reach, I have carried this for approximately 18 years, and my back up I carry is a leatherman which has the needle nose pliers, I think I have carried that for 25-28 years, still in the original carry case and carry it everyday no matter what. I to go for the 2 or 3 for the price break deal. Thanks for the video, another good video.
Hey John! I'm looking to wrap the handle of a few of those horrible flat wrenches that come with saws, routers, grinders etc. with some nice rope to make them feel better in the hand. Given your scouting background and all, I can't think of a better person to show us how this could be expertly done. Pretty please?
I went back to white glue for all my woodworking and SC challenges. The yellow glue sets up too quick for me. Elmers Glue All always worked great and still does.
You are so right about that Victorinox multi-tool. Its fit and finish and overall quality are superb. I've used the heck out of mine and it never lets me down. Expensive but worth it. As for EDC i go with Benchmade knives. They sre also expensive but are very high quality and they have some very lightweight models. Their slide lock mechanism is super convenient and can be used with one hand.

Great information and demonstration on that wrench with the small crack ,showing the upward and downward forces that may or may not affect a wrench like that one . Showing us the demonstration you can see that the small crack will never give you any problems as far as I can see. Again great job explaining that to us 👍. I also like it because it says it is stainless steel and it closes and Uncloses easily plus 3 for under $20 bucks, you can’t go wrong with that deal 😄👍👍. That Aleene’s tacky glue , looks like it should work well. Definitely a sucker for the good deals, but sometime sadly a sucker for bad deals. 🤣 Great show and tell on the knives. I liked your Gerber better than the Workpro, it has that little turn-up to keep your finger off the blade. For 40+ years I've always carried a Case pen knife, just feel weird without it.

Always take the deal. I'll usually give one to a friend. Aileen tacky glue I've been using for a while with radio restorations especially for repairs on old speakers. FYI I gave you a shout out on my last video.
Not too long at all! The Alenes tacky glue is fantastic. I use it on cloth being bonded to anything. Every one of my restored musical instrument cases has a good amount attaching the linings to the case interior! Where it doesn't work well is if you are using a non porous material like Tolex. It bubbles up under the tolex. Tolex is the stuff used to cover amplifiers and guitar cases. It's not good for felt either. The felt absorbs it and it dries stiff. It's great for leather. It's good for wood but not not as permanent as a good wood glue. It's sold as a good all around craft glue. It's good thinned out for adD ing model railroad ballast too. Anyway, great video!

You know the old saying “A man who carries a pocket knife is worth 5 dollars more an hour”. Wish that was true but it sure was handy.My pocket knife of choice now is a Swiss mini. although the leathermen s were handy they were not compatible for electrician s know what I mean. Just think back to your video of you checking your boiler. Still makes me chickle

I own a few different Leatherman tools including the original. I think they are much better than any Swiss Army Knife ever made and carried a Leatherman for many years but truth be told, I rarely used one as I always have easy access top real full sized tools. Other than the piers it is a but awkward to use for more than a few seconds. I still take one on vacation in my suitcase and leave one in the glove box, but again at home ehhh. Very Well made though! My two daily knives for EDC are a Syderco Delica K390 blade and the smallest size of Victorinox SAK (you know the key chain model). The scissors is mainly what gets used on that. For serious cutting, the Spyderco handles that quite well and it is very light weight.
Good show today. The video was fine as far as length. I could find a good use for the Work Pro. I like the pocket clip. I like something that is useful sold in 3s.

I feel that the shorter ones are over to quickly, it seams like as soon as you get into something the video is over and I feel cheated. lol - I also buy more than one if the price is right - Later
I always carry 2 knives. A Swiss Army Hunter knife(left pocket) and a bigger lock blade pocket knife in my right pocket. Usually at ZT 350 or a CRKT M16
I am from Germany. Today I used the Titebond glue for cold veneering and i was suprised how fluid ist was. Here in Germany every glue from the big box store has the consitency of your tacky glue
Pocket knives are a great addiction lol I have some 30ish pocket knives I rotate through daily. I've grown super fond of OTF knives mostly microtech. But I always carry a pocket knife along with small flash light and multitool while at work.
I always thought the smooth jaw wrench was called the monkey wrench and the serrated jaw was called the pipe wrench . At least that’s what the old timer plumbers I worked with called it . 😂 Great video Scout …

Bob One day I will have to get a proper welder and go through the toils of learning how to get a good weld. It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

Been carrying the Gerber for several years. But like you I am a sucker for products seen on internet. I saw the Workpro several week ago and ordered it.
I would love to see longer videos. I watch many of channels that average 30 mins or so.
My youngest son got me started collecting and using different knives. He go me the Gerber utility knife several years ago, been carrying it ever since. Small world. (Just ordered the 3 pack of Workpro knives! You are a bad influence!)😮
Cool mix of goodies there. I might have to pick up one of those Gerbers that you showed--I liked that. I definitely don't think your videos are too long and they are enjoyable to watch--so no worries there.
John, i always had a Leatherman but the one you had is much better for utility purposes , You are always afraid of breaking the blade of the Leatherman but with the one you have there's no worry the blade is interchangeable

John, I've been using the Gerber EAB Lite for ~10 years and find it one of the sleekest utility knives around. It clips nicely in my 5th pocket. They even sell (via 3rd party) a knurled thumb stud that replaces the blade retention screw. However, I'll most likely replace my slotted screw with a proud cap screw in order to assist with single handed opening.

I sometimes apply living attributes to things. This wrench is a real phoenix . It was like rescuing a downer animal that became a happy friend. This wrench had some hell of a journey and it never expected in a thousand years to get such attention and world wide exposure. From a value of 25 cents to fame to this extent would have made the original owners and the makers eyes pop out.
20 minutes is the perfect time for a video. Any longer, and I'll often pass it by. I like the workpro knife. The hardest thing about an EDC is keeping it sharp. That's obviously not a problem with these. I'm sure I'll get the three and give one to my grandson and his dad.
That was an excellent tutorial on the forces at play in that wrench. I love a good diagram 😂. I just started following ”inheritance machining” he typically starts his videos with a narrative while he drafts his project. The drawings are really a work of art in my mind. Cheers

I really liked that Leatherman crunch but when I looked them up they are out of my budget. Definitely going to be on the lookout for one at yard sales. Great video as always

My EDC for many years now has been my Victorinox classic SD Inox, tiny but handy, and conforms to our strict UK knife laws ! My Leatherman Super 200 from 2002 comes away with me whenever I travel.

But for me, since I live here in Indonesia the prices for things are WAY so much more than you recommend. Like the Workpro you just talked about I really want one, but here they are 4x the price as in the States. Damn. but keep up, I still love the videos.
Have you seen the Leatherman Skeleton. That is EDC. They designed it to be lighter by slim lining and cutting out sections of the frame.
I’m guilty of buying multiples also, but tend to give the other ones to my two daughters depending on what it is.

A tool is usable to me until it flies all to pieces. Cracks mean nothing. Just ventilation maybe. I like the Workpro knives but I started out with an Uncle Henry but ended up toting a Victorinox Swiss Army knife till the handles wore out and the emblem fell off. I still have it in my dinner box but since I quit work it just sits there, waiting.I ought to send it off to get it rebuilt but really no need. Still structurally sound. I toted it around in there for a long time while I was still working too and NEVER had a discouraging word to say about anything that Victorinox made and still don't. And YAAY for the 'F'-style wrench. Have a wonderful week, however the videos are will be fine with me and God Bless YOU!
Sir SC: great lesson on the forces of the wrench. at first, I too was concerned for usability of the F style wrench. At the end of your videos, I am always wanting more. I will have to give the wacky Tacky glue a try. My EDC is a Benchmade Triage knife. Heavy duty blade I can pry with if needed. Hook on the opposite end of the blade for cutting seatbelts. I use it a lot to cut string, strapping and clamshell packages. One end has a carbide tip for breaking windshields/glass. Fortunately, I haven't had a need for it yet.
That carbide tip is a fantastic feature!! 😃👍
Before you are in the unfortunate situation of having to use it: It is not a windshield glass breaker, it's for tempered glass and the windshield are laminated. That is, they have a plastic layer sandwiched between the glass and it will not break properly with a hardened tip breaker (carbide, for example). Windshields generally have to be cut after breaking, the Victorinox Rescuetool has that function but it's a bad way to get into a car.
The side windows are the way to go, they are tempered which means that they shatter into many small "pearls", usually not too sharp (compared to a regular glass window in a house). Also, go for a corner, not the middle of the window.

I like knives, have carried a Craftsman lock back utility knife as a quick go to, has a wood inlay with a pocket clasp so I don’t even to dig in my pocket, it sets inside the top front pocket, easy to reach, I have carried this for approximately 18 years, and my back up I carry is a leatherman which has the needle nose pliers, I think I have carried that for 25-28 years, still in the original carry case and carry it everyday no matter what. I to go for the 2 or 3 for the price break deal. Thanks for the video, another good video.
Hey John! I'm looking to wrap the handle of a few of those horrible flat wrenches that come with saws, routers, grinders etc. with some nice rope to make them feel better in the hand. Given your scouting background and all, I can't think of a better person to show us how this could be expertly done. Pretty please?
I went back to white glue for all my woodworking and SC challenges. The yellow glue sets up too quick for me. Elmers Glue All always worked great and still does.
Another thing about Elmer’s is it lasts a long time! I have a bottle that is over 25 years old and still good!
You are so right about that Victorinox multi-tool. Its fit and finish and overall quality are superb. I've used the heck out of mine and it never lets me down. Expensive but worth it. As for EDC i go with Benchmade knives. They sre also expensive but are very high quality and they have some very lightweight models. Their slide lock mechanism is super convenient and can be used with one hand.

last week , awesome job! Great information and demonstration on that wrench with the small crack ,showing the upward and downward forces that may or may not affect a wrench like that one . Showing us the demonstration you can see that the small crack will never give you any problems as far as I can see. Again great job explaining that to us 👍. Great to see some of your EDC knives or multi-tools you have. I like that Leatherman crunch that has the built in locking pliers and also the Swiss🇨🇭 one as well. The Swiss 🇨🇭one reminds me of the Leatherman super tool. That WorkPro folding pocket utility knife looks awesome to have in your pocket for cutting a variety of material and what not,Now I got to order me a 3 pack 😂👍. I also like it because it says it is stainless steel and it closes and Uncloses easily plus 3 for under $20 bucks, you can’t go wrong with that deal 😄👍👍. That Aleene’s tacky glue , looks like it should work well. I like the fact that it dries clear and also that price for under $3 bucks , you can’t beat that! 👍 Hope we can see how it turns out on your project. Definitely a sucker for the good deals, but sometime sadly a sucker for bad deals. 🤣 Great show and tell on the knives. I liked your Gerber better than the Workpro, it has that little turn-up to keep your finger off the blade. For 40+ years I've always carried a Case pen knife, just feel weird without it.

Not too long at all! The Alenes tacky glue is fantastic. I use it on cloth being bonded to anything. Every one of my restored musical instrument cases has a good amount attaching the linings to the case interior! Where it doesn't work well is if you are using a non porous material like Tolex. It bubbles up under the tolex. Tolex is the stuff used to cover amplifiers and guitar cases. It's not good for felt either. The felt absorbs it and it dries stiff. It's great for leather. It's good for wood but not not as permanent as a good wood glue. It's sold as a good all around craft glue. It's good thinned out for adD ing model railroad ballast too. Anyway, great video!

You know the old saying “A man who carries a pocket knife is worth 5 dollars more an hour”. Wish that was true but it sure was handy.My pocket knife of choice now is a Swiss mini. although the leathermen s were handy they were not compatible for electrician s know what I mean. Just think back to your video of you checking your boiler. Still makes me chickle

I own a few different Leatherman tools including the original. I think they are much better than any Swiss Army Knife ever made and carried a Leatherman for many years but truth be told, I rarely used one as I always have easy access top real full sized tools. Other than the piers it is a but awkward to use for more than a few seconds. I still take one on vacation in my suitcase and leave one in the glove box, but again at home ehhh. Very Well made though! My two daily knives for EDC are a Syderco Delica K390 blade and the smallest size of Victorinox SAK (you know the key chain model). The scissors is mainly what gets used on that. For serious cutting, the Spyderco handles that quite well and it is very light weight.

I feel that the shorter ones are over to quickly, it seams like as soon as you get into something the video is over and I feel cheated. lol - I also buy more than one if the price is right - Later

I always carry 2 knives. A Swiss Army Hunter knife(left pocket) and a bigger lock blade pocket knife in my right pocket. Usually at ZT 350 or a CRKT M16
About the knives your spot on, you don't need a big knife and yes I got to have one of those dam it :)

I am from Germany. Today I used the Titebond glue for cold veneering and i was suprised how fluid ist was. Here in Germany every glue from the big box store has the consitency of your tacky glue

Pocket knives are a great addiction lol I have some 30ish pocket knives I rotate through daily. I've grown super fond of OTF knives mostly microtech. But I always carry a pocket knife along with small flash light and multitool while at work.
I always thought the smooth jaw wrench was called the monkey wrench and the serrated jaw was called the pipe wrench . At least that’s what the old timer plumbers I worked with called it . 😂
