    Here is a long demo ride and review of the 2014 BMW F700GS. I rode in a very large group and so wasn't able to really give it the beans. And I also end up rambling about other motorcycle related things!
    I realize that I sound very nasally in this video. Perhaps I always sound like that...? And I actually recorded this demo ride in May 2014 when I still had my Kawasaki Versys, but only just got around to editing the video.

    Got a 2017 lowered same red.
    Total snooze fest unless you grab it by the throat in second and third.max h.p. at 7500 so you snooze you lose with the revs.I rarely need 5 or 6th gears.it does up to 80in second gear and 100 on third .I am riding it like its rented.it gets a daily flogging as it is warrantied till end of Dec. It is a sturdy mount .can it tear up the single track like an orangutan
    With its ass on fire? Certainly not
    Can it get alot done safely? Yes
    Can you switch off asc and a.b.s.
    Yes you can so no need to gripe about that.tough little steed .plenty enough for gravel.town.and interstate.needs a taller windscreen.

    I would say you get the older fellers since its a Bimmer and an expensive mode of transportation or recreation... i do fairly well and this will be an expensive endeavor once accessories are rolled in

    Damn I've had my f700 for a few weeks now never needed to use 6th gear even on the highway. This bike has plenty of power don't see myself craving for more😅

    Hi enjoyed your recording of your ride, I have been given a loan F700GS for the week, I agree with you about the seat, not as comfortable as my 2000 F650GS, but the handling, brakes & suspension is far better. My local Dealer suggested a couple of rides before I buy, also tried the KTM adventure (too tall) and duke numb-bum after 5 miles! could not wait to give it back

    Wow that is a large group for a demo! So yeah always seems to be the older guys when it comes to BMW. Always thought it was because these are the guys who don't want to join the cult of HD and wanted to make their own lol.

      I actually own a 2015 F800GSA now, so I take back a bunch of bad stuff I said about the BMW lol. Hope you get better soon, so you can ride your bike.

      I’m about to buy my first adventure bike. I like the 800gs but it’s too tall for me. Do you think I should buy a 700gs or lower an 800gs? Some people think the powerband on the 700 is actually better.

      @@professorvoluck9311 I like my 700 which has the same engine as the 800
      Confusing but they robbed a few horsepower from my 700
      But it has way more than I can handle now
      So I say go with the 700

      @@professorvoluck9311 how tall are you? I'm 5'6" with a 30" inseam and my F800GSA has the stock seat. I can touch both tippy toes at the same time or almost flat foot on one side. Personally I'd go for the 800, because why not eh?

    • @professorvoluck9311

      You have a tall inseam for 5’6.” I’m 5’8” but only have a 29” inseam. I prefer to be close to flat-footed because I find myself stopping on uneven ground a lot. There’s nothing worse than putting your foot down and realizing the pavement is not there. As far as power is concerned, I’ve been riding superbikes for 30 years so any adventure bike is going to feel quite underwhelming and heavy. I’m also considering the Triumph Tiger and even entertained the idea of buying a Ducati or Triumph Scrambler and making it more adventure/tourer like.

    Was the fueling smoother than your Versys?

    As first bike di you recommend it??

    • @zordflea
      @zordflea  9 лет назад

      +Fermin Gomez It's an easy bike to ride, and it is common to get lowering kits for shorter people. I think it's not a bad first bike because it is not scary.

    Parallel twin 798 cc. That's the stats.not a v twin.

  • @retiredandroaming

    It's an inline twin, not a V-twin. :)

      Actually, it is a parallel twin! It is neither a V nor an inline.

  • @gilcomnz

    Why do you bother to do a review without having the correct specs. Not a Vtwin

    • @zordflea
      @zordflea  3 года назад

      Because I was a real noob 7 years ago lol. Funny thing is my daily ride today is a F800GSA, and I love it! (By the way, parallel-twin not v-twin.)
