I think the change from just ponies to other animals was perfection for this. All the designs are so unique that I could probably identify them all just through their shadows alone side by side. Plus you can tell they really had fun with the personalities

Tianhuo is the opposite of Rainbow Dash, while RD is all cocky and egoistical, Tianhuo is like a classic Chinese mentor, she see the potential in her foe and support them with wisdom. 2:52 Yes, you win. 3:09 Pretty much 3:21 Did she say this even when her pups didn't do all the work?
Yup. She'll say that If you use puppies to attack a lot (from my experience). Like when Velvet received a lot of damage she will say this line 1:38 or Tianhuo when she received some damage she will say this line 2:33
This game as a lot of familiar voices, I know many will mention Tara Strong as Arizona because she’s the most famous VA from our childhoods but there’s several anime VAs in this game. Tia Ballard the voice of Velvet has done a crap ton of voice roles, you might recognize her as Happy from Fairy Tail and Edens Zero, Chiho Sasaki in The Devil is a Part-Timer! especially its newest season this year with another one on the way, Kasumi in BOFURI and Zero Two in Darling in the Franxx. Paprika’s VA is also someone you’ll recognize, she’s the current voice of Paimon in Genshin Impact and Tatsumaki in One Punch Man. And the announcer is also familiar, Jessica Gee-George is the voice of Panne in Fire Emblem Awakening and Sakura Ohgami in Danganronpa. Oh and Texas is voiced by the awesome Patrick Seitz, the voice of Dio Brando in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Ragna in BlazBlue, Endeavor / Enji Todoroki in My Hero Academia, Franky in One Piece, Dark Cacao Cookie in Cookie Run Kingdom, Ira Gamagoori in Kill la Kill and of course the one that introduced me to this guy… Scorpion in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe and all the way through Mortal Kombat X until reprised to voice him again in Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge.

@Marav Reviews Kinda wish some other more popular MLP characters got counterparts too. I know the game developers probably wanna stray away from MLP now but seeing a counterpart to Starlight, Sunset, Spike, Sunburst or Discord would be cool.
Is it just me or does this game follow the same trope that most fighting games have where each character represents a different country or nationality?
That's the actual thing in the lore, each character represents the place they came from (and thus their species), becoming their "champions", it could be read as each representing a country or nationality :>
