Great vid, great explanation great editing, look forward to seeing more in the future!
Great video!!! Can’t wait for more photography videos on this channel!
came back to this vid. soooo excited to see more content. you make me want to go out and take more photos :'
Love this vid!!!!!
I have this lens and much prefer it over the 1.4 nokton, but to each their own. I have a fast 50 for those bokeh portrets. The lens hood for it is worth it btw, stops you from bumping the aperture ring and it looks great.
Thanks a bunch for the review. After some consideration i might be picking up this lens instead of the 40mm f1.4. Since im pairing it with the A7sii, i can just crank the ISO to compensate lmao.
this is so sick. you should take pics at this pagoda in Reading, PA.
This pagoda looks sick, I might have to go; Just need someone to go with 😅
I don’t hear a click when I turn the lens on my Leica m5
Keep it toigt with that voigt
Might have to cop…
Use the metric system.
if you don't mind me asking do you send your negatives out to get scanned or do you perform at home scanning (and if so what is your scanning method?)
Hey! I don't mind at all.
At the time that I was testing this lens, i was sending my negatives to thedarkroom.com to get scanned. However since then I've started doing my own film development and scanning.
I use Cinestill's C41 Color Developer, and a Plustek 7200 for scanning. I watched this video as a setup for scanning: ruclips.net/video/dtEcnXNndPw/видео.html&ab_channel=KyleMcDougall
I have a video I want to make about this process but haven't found the time to be able to do it unfortunately, but this is inspiring me to make it!
@@fracturedaperture Thx you for the response.
It is so good they stopped making them!!!
Check out this new Techart LM-EA9 adapter for. Sony E mount that does autofocus for your M mount lenses:

This thing looks freaking awesome! I'll have to find one and give it a try :) Thank you for linking this
It's funny how much of a fad shallow depth of field is. Bokeh is the new Groovy. Look at the work of classic Masters and you won't see evidence of any interest in shallow depth of field. "F8 and be there" was the battle cry. Now every 1.4 lens comes with a cup of Starbucks.
That's pretty true 😂 It's definitely more of a thing that's come with the digital age of photography. You make a good point about the classics, I think that's something I could've mentioned in my video. It's something that I should try out for myself.
It feels strange calling anything leica related a "budget" option 😅 great video!
haha i know what you mean 😂 and thank you so much! I appreciate you watching
Unpopular opinion: I don't like this lens.
Haven't tried it on film but at least on an M240 it creates weird color shifts only on the right side of the frame. Build quality is fine and the size is great, no complaints there. Optically, it's average and at f2.5 is nothing to write home about.
For the price it's a great option but it just doesn't suit my taste.
Distortion?
