Naw they wouldn't have won because everyone still would have just voted for themselves. Artie even voted for himself and he didn't even perform. This was an amazing performance but no one was going to vote it over their own performance.
everything glee_593 hmm, they did an entire episode with Burt Bacharach songs (real classics!) in season 6. I think that the show always knew how to mixed up different styles of music.
When I was in high school during the early seasons, it made everyone way overdramatic. I think it's interesting to see that it may have influenced your drama experience :)
Tina and Brittany may not have very strong voices but both can harmonize with just about anyone. Especially since they rarely got the chance to sing on their own, they were constantly just singing back up vocals.
2:22 the time is an angel number. Means: be in the moment, be present, be aware that you are exactly where you should be right now. You are right, that harmony was disarming and charming!
Everyone looks so genuinely happy when Rachel and Kurt sing their duet and its amazing! Literally Santana looks so happy and soft and open in that moment not to mention Rachel and Kurt are both beaming at each other. Hummelberry is an iconic duo and I’m so thankful for their friendship!
This duet was meant as an homage to Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. Lea Michele and Chris Colfer were the two old school "Broadway" voices on Glee. It was only natural they sing this duet. Over the years Broadway has changed and the vocal stylings have changed as well. Many of the other singers on Glee were part of the new style of Broadway voices and while they could have sang this duet, it wouldn't have captured the essence of Garland and Streisand.

Their voices sound so good together. And this rendition of this song is perfect for these characters. I just want more and more. I don't thing they sang together enough.
every day, before i go to sleep, i listen to this song, i love it so much, i miss them, i miss what glee made me feel, its a reminder that things are gonna be better, and happy days are coming best duet , barbra and judy would be proud
That's just about as close to perfection on a duet as any two could ever get... the last 5 notes were really unbelievable! And for Chris to be able to sustain those really high notes is even more impressive!
In my 60+ years of watching tv, this is one of my most favorite scenes. So reminiscent of Barbra's and Judy's original. I think if this performance so fondly.
One of my favorite duets! all in softness! they are so great in broadways! so smooth, it's a true gift for our ears and I'm huge fan of Lea! their duet is a true tribute to the original one!
bluedance lilly Not really, they are so similar, that’s why Rachel and Santana were a good friendship bc how different they were and it was funny to watch them, Kurt and Rachel are a bit boring 😪
this is why i liked him with quinn because he was really at his best when he was with and around quinn they messed up his story arc so badly and they messed up quinns AND FINNS a bit when they decided to put them back together for finchel drama instead of actually doing what the characters would really do and whether one ships them or not they were good friends as well and quinn was there to support him through his financial situation and he was to lift her up after her breakdown ('you deserve good things quinn') even when they weren't together that was one relationship that would have kept in touch even if they'd never date again but it doesn't suprise me since glee also dropped the ball on a lot of other friendships too that were everything quinn/mercedes, mercedes/kurt, sam/kurt and i could go on and on but yeah, they did sam so dirty epsially when he became more of a main character but he was more likable when he was more minor. he was always goofy but not dumb HE KNEW THE WHOLE AVATAR LANGUAGE like???
So I watched the original out of curiosity and Judy actually does that leg kick that Chris does at the end, so Chris was really on point, and honestly, that just makes me love him even more.
I still remember the original live television performance of this mashup on the Judy Garland show with Barbra 60 years ago. It was that indelible on one’s memory. So when this happened on Glee, it wasn’t just Lea copying Barbra’s movements and vocals, Chris was copying Judy’s as well. That’s what made it so perfect. (And the first song mashup I ever heard, though that term wasn’t in use then).
I agree! I remember this performance the most out of all the Glee episodes I watched, I think it is absolutely fabulous! I've come back to it years later, and will do again, thanks for posting the wonderful duet.
I have probablyneatched this performance more than any other one from the show. It is my favorite and the beginning of Hummelberry..my favorite friendship from the show.
This performance is so underrated, its so timeless and beautiful
I swear I was just about to comment that. It just fills you up with Joy.
Elaina Axais Yes it is!
Elaina Axais they did Judy and Barbara Proud!😘
Elaina Axais yes it truly is
Stunning
If these two were doing this song for the duet competition they would have won
Azereth Amaral Rachel wanted Sam to win so he stays in glee club
Well yeah thats wht they did it after.. wouldnt be fair with that duo ever
Naw they wouldn't have won because everyone still would have just voted for themselves. Artie even voted for himself and he didn't even perform. This was an amazing performance but no one was going to vote it over their own performance.
@@DeeL3 I pretty sure finn vote for rachel :)) win by 2 vote
@@phamtruc4612 are you dumb? Finn was part of the plan too
this is back when the show was still lovely and clever, love this performance
britt z I personally didn't like season 6 song choices cause glee chooses songs that are popular like Sing by Ed sheeran
everything glee_593 hmm, they did an entire episode with Burt Bacharach songs (real classics!) in season 6. I think that the show always knew how to mixed up different styles of music.
Pedro Henrique true and like season 1 and 6 had less songs then the other seasons
Pedro Henrique I loved Take on Me by A-HA though
everything glee_593 I really liked 'Alfie' performed by Santana. So emotional.
when they grabbed each others hands, they were CHANNELING judy and barbra
Ed Miller just shut up damn🙄 y’all so annoying
Super true... the memories
With the outfits also
The whole performance is pretty much a replica of the original Barbra and Judy one
Literally everything about this performance was a recreation of the original even Kurts foot kick at the end. LOL
i love how lea tried to mimic what Barbra did in the original video for this song.
srt42893
Barbra is her idol so of course she based this on her.
She's also wearing the same shirt :D
I feel like that's Lea acting out what Rachel would do😂(Not exactly just Lea)
AlyJorJon -Asmr and More I agree bc Lea is not Rachel but Rachel is still a part of Lea, they have many common points
Above bove
they say glee dramatizes the performances of glee club, but this is literally my drama class 24/7
When I was in high school during the early seasons, it made everyone way overdramatic. I think it's interesting to see that it may have influenced your drama experience :)
Cassidy Rose omg i want participare of your drama class
please let me join your drama class LMAO
lucky, I wish more people appreciated musical theatre for the beauty of it instead of thinking its boring
Best harmonizers:
1. Amber and Naya
2. Lea and Chris
3. Diana and anybody
Bill Nye yessss
Diana and Lea were amazing in pretty unpretty
lea and naya sound great together too
Tina and Brittany may not have very strong voices but both can harmonize with just about anyone. Especially since they rarely got the chance to sing on their own, they were constantly just singing back up vocals.
@@leannaauletta5502 yes! "At the Ballet" and "Gloria" were amazing
That moment at 2:22 when they were in perfect harmony, my God 😮😍
Yes! Chills!!!
2:22 the time is an angel number. Means: be in the moment, be present, be aware that you are exactly where you should be right now. You are right, that harmony was disarming and charming!
This performance is one of the best glee duet performances. It’s classic, it’s simple... and their voices complimented the song AND each other!
I learned the word "complement" in the morning. Getting so excited when I see smth that I leaned somewhere😂
Does anyone else notice Rachel is dressed exactly like Barbara from the original video ? & Kurt is a bit similar to Judy Garland ?
Ashley Hernandez I was scrolling through the comments hoping I wasn't the only one who noticed this!
Yes, I was thinking the exact same thing
I did! =)
Even her facial expressions match Barbara's
😮😳
This is one of those numbers I used to skip when I was younger, but now I adore it. One of my favourite duets on the show.
Yeesss me too I was so stupid🤦♀️😭
I love kurt / chris smile it's so cute
Kena Smith it makes me smile
their voices are perfect together if their is one person Rachel cant upstage it is definitely Kurt they both have Broadway voices
This duet was meant as an homage to Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. Lea Michele and Chris Colfer were the two old school "Broadway" voices on Glee. It was only natural they sing this duet. Many of the other singers on Glee were part of the new style of Broadway voices and while they could have sang this duet, it wouldn't have captured the essence of Garland and Streisand.
@@edwardcricchio6106 agreed. These two were the choices for this rendition. And Rachel’s voice is amazing to be singing Barbra
you can tell that they were all really enjoying that performance 😃😃
I love Kurt’s little kick at the end of the song just like Judy did
Hands down the BEST duet in the HISTORY of Glee!!
There are soo many better duets lol
I agree
Absolutely.
I’ve been watching glee clips every day for the past 2 weeks now
Taylor Ellis I just cant stop watching Glee clips!!
Me too!! It's my wake up AND relax AND fall asleep song
This is definitely one of the best duets that has ever been done on Glee and is an amazing tribute to two iconic performers, literal chills 💜👏🏻💜
I think this is Chris's best performance on this show. He should have been given lead vocals on the competition performances at least once in a while
I love how hypnotized Finn (or could even be Cory) is by Rachel (Lea) at 1:21
you can see love in his eyes
I love the expression on Lea Michelle's face. She is a true star, so is Chris
I feel lea is Barbra Streisand secret child
Ah come on really?
Well she did nail "Don't Rain on My Parade" too didn't she.
Oh yeah then there's "My Man."
IKR
the actress who plays sugar motta looks much more like a young barbra than lea though
@@QuidditchGryffindor7 I don’t think they’re talking about looks-

Lea truly sings her heart out. I love it!
Hands down their best duet❤️❤️❤️
The way Cory looks at Lea, this is pure love!!!
"Forget your troubles, and just get happy.." That one makes me cry
nothing can beat the power couple that is Rachel and Kurt 💪❤
Well I mean they're not a couple lmao... but I get what you mean.
Except maybe Judy & Barbra ;)
Mercedes and Artie says Hi!
ewww no not couple, just friendship
@@isabelhoch3713 i think they ment like a couple… 2 people..
What a set of pipes these 2 have ...ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL...JUDY IS SMILING...VERY VERY BRAUTIFUL ODE TO DAME JUDY GARLAND...LONG LIVE GLEE!!
this is one of my favorute performances on the show
its so simple, perfect, and filled with love and i think it really embodies what the show is about
7 years later and this still is one of my favorite vocal duet performances from glee.
Fave Glee duet!! To me this is where their friendship really started!
every day, before i go to sleep, i listen to this song, i love it so much, i miss them, i miss what glee made me feel, its a reminder that things are gonna be better, and happy days are coming
best duet , barbra and judy would be proud
Brittany is heartbreaking doing the spaghetti thing from Lady and the Tramp by herself.
And she and Santana look so sad in the classroom.
@Ed Miller no
@Ed Miller What? How did you come out with that? She's playing like in the Disney movie The lady and the tramp
This performance always gives me chills
It’s mad, I’ve been struggling so much with my depression and anxiety, and listening to Rachel’s songs like I used to years ago are so comforting 💞
Id like to imagine as the characters smiles as legit at that moment.. coming from how well Rachel and Kurt are singing the song.
This was so beautiful. They should sing this again like right now. But also the suit Kurt was wearing in this episode was so. Iconic. I can't even😂
Glee introduced me to so many songs I never knew before. I'm glad.
IDK why this song is so emotional😔
Seriously! Am crying
We can all agree that Kurt & Rachel should've done a duet together.. They would've won.
Rachel and Kurt’s voices go together so well 😫👏♥️
my favorite HummelBerry's duet
" Come on get happy " I'm always happy when I listen this song ❤️
That's just about as close to perfection on a duet as any two could ever get... the last 5 notes were really unbelievable! And for Chris to be able to sustain those really high notes is even more impressive!

The fact that they are dressed like Barbra and Judy just make me happy.
Can we just talk about how amazing Kurt's suit is I mean it's fricking awesome
It's a shame these two are no longer friends. They make incredible music together.
THE FACT THAT THEY ARE WEARING SIMILAR CLOTHES TO WHEN JUDY GARLAND AND BARBRA STREISAND SANG THIS TOGETHER 🤌🏻🤌🏻 ❤

Is anyone thinking of how Kurt used to be Mercedes best friend until Rachel decided she wanted him?
sheri w yes all the time
Until Mercedes busted windows out his car
Lol
sheri w Damn, Rachel is sneaky 😂 I honestly hadn’t even noticed until you brought it up
Rachel and Kurt made a better pair and the writers figured that out.
