Thanks for the help. Just got these and was trying to figure out how to build them properly. I grabbed them without realizing I was getting a command unit too which is very nice of them to include. I also have some French Infantry and a few Les Grognards I'm going to use to make a division of French themed space troops for Grimdark Future. All the fun of historicals but with big honking laser guns!
These things are great. I'm not a huge fan of all the weapon designs, but because they are plastic, they would make easy kitbashes with Cadian parts from GW. A Cadian heavy bolter or autocannon would look great on these. My future Vostroyan army is looking better by the day, thanks to these models.
Cadian gear should work for the heavy weapons but might not be heirloomy enough for Vostroyan infantry. I've seen people use Skitarii weapons to great effect.
@@JeffAndresWilliams Fair. I just so happen to be friends with an Ad Mech player. I've got quite a few ranger rifles and dune crawler auto cannons with my name on it as well as he prefers vanguards with plasma for his Ryza lads. I still like the Cadian mortars more than the ones in here, and I like the blast shields from the heavy weapons better as well. With a suitable paint job and maybe a tiny bit of green stuff they should look fairly heirloomy.
Honestly the base weapons look pretty heirloom-y. I got them as Vostroyans but ended up painting them in blue anyways lol. Skitarii weapons do line up well iirc though
Just picked up some of these (and the regular infantry guys as well) for use as Astra Militarum to accompany my Imperial Knights into battle. So much better than those boring generic Cadians that GW sells for a lot more money per guy.
"but its not official GW models!" says that one guy, well if GW wont offer their own version of this and only offers the Cadians then they miss out on your hard earned money.
Double Gerry this morning at work lol, now just need a big screen TV. I'll be using them as poncy royal guard for a corrupt Government... I mean Governor. ;)
FYI, grognard is French; the second G is silent, so it sounds like "gro'nard". CORRECTION, it is "gro.nyar". Thanks to Richard for setting me straight. 👍
I actually thought it was pronounced like "Gronyard" but yours might be the correct way. I'm not sure; it's been a while since I took French in high school.
For less than the cost of a Cadian Heavy Weapons boxed set you get twice as many miniatures. The math on this one isn't hard.
Better models too
The quad gun looks amazing, I really like the early industrial/"steampunk" vibe and the big bulky spherical shield.
The wine bottle and glass sold me
I need my tank commander to be drinking while giving orders to his shako troops
So tempted to do an Imperial Guard force for Grimdark Future with these.
@Gerry mcCabe haven't seen those. Will most certainly check them out.

Great review - thank you!
Thanks for showing the head variants - I don’t want sci-fi bearskins but the kepis and helmets might be right at home on colonial Barsoom
Atlantic Wargames also has the "Bulldogs", basically British Empire in space, also good for that Space 1889 feel!
Just got a box of these for Christmas! 😊 Very excited to start building.
Thanks for this video. These look like great value. I hope to see them in local shops this year.
Thanks!
Looking forward to getting them soon! I'll be using them for a new game called Sludge!
thanks for showing these they are great
These are very nice figures, thanks for sharing the video

i will use the ballturret without tripods as imperial guard rogue trader landspeeders with multi lasers
Try putting them in 1/48thor 1/32nd scale halftracks or tanks
Reality's Edge Ops team I think. Or a cyberpunk genre ttrpg
Love the Kepis on these. Can you build all of them with Kepi's?
How many crouching legs are there in this box?
Had no idea thos was a thing. Looks rad

I stand corrected Richard. I have checked a few online sites are they all pronounced it 'gro.nyar'. I was fixated on the silent G. Cheers 😊
gron-yaar, you pronounce it gron-yaar
I was able to wprk out how to make 2K points inOne page rules out of this and 4 infantry boxes thanks to how good the review was of the contents
