I love metal with all my heart and soul but I still like artists like the Weeknd and Chase Atlantic. You never need to stick to one genre just because you're supposed to
couldn't have said it better myself. You are absolutely not "supposed" to stick with one genre, what's the point of that?? Alot of Metal musicians takes inspiration and likes pop music. An obvious example would be Gary Holt from Exodus, that says he "loves" Madonna etc.
"You never need to stick to one genre", but if someone wants to? Let people dislike music genres they don't like, we're not supposed to like everything on this world. @@TheCostantinus i think you are missing the point. Alot of Metalheads have a tendency to dislike other genres (pop etc.) because that's what the norm says. @Jackson Kendrick Metal and Linux go nicely together. If you've ever heard of Spatry he uses metal riffs as background music for his Linux videos which he actually wrote and performed himself.
He said "it's not my thing" a couple of times in this video, what should he do, force himself to like those songs? I don't think that's possible.
@@TheCostantinus i think you are missing the point. Alot of Metalheads have a tendency to dislike other genres (pop etc.) because that's what the norm says. If you truly dislike other genres, that's fine. But we should also remember that, your mindset is very important when you discover new music. If you assume that its going to be bad, you will most likely think so when you hear it.
@@johanbatcron1206 I'm pretty sure that Stevie T genuinely dislikes these songs, at the point to admit that he likes the Bruno Mars one (he even put his pants on!), so he's not disliking pop music because it's the norm.
