Awsome video. Inspired. Also saw the road and was like I know that road. Lol 😆. My favorite food trucks is on that road. Lol. Thought it was hella funny.
Innovative as usual Dave
Awesome all it needs is some super tech badges and a little pull-behind cart for some gear.
Daaamn Dave, you’re fuckin rad braj!!!
Cool Dave!
Definitely Bob Ross vibes. Good build
Sweet
Nice Dave 👍👍👍
🤘⚡️🤘✨
Nice way to repurpose a old bike. May have to do mine now. Good way to get around cuz traffic is the pits.
Nice 👍
Super bike tech 👌 👍
Neat.
That 1900 box.
Not a bad idea.Obviously the box is used for wires.Nice video!👍
Nice..
That's cool as shit Dave!
It’s fun as heck.
sick
Cool, I gave my old mongoose to my nephew. 70’s model
The bmx cruisers are perfect for this. Rear drive. Disc breaks and tire size. Way better ride than beach cruiser.
Max here in Connecticut is 750 watt 20mph. Buddy of mine has a factory bike got stopped on main street where he lives at 28 got a ticket and now may need to register it due to over speed.. VERY nice rehab on that bike, too cool.
Rode it to work this morning huge hill made it fine with pedaling from me so exercise is still there.
Nice Dave. I'm finishing up my 4000 watt mid-drive cruiser, we'll have to line them up sometime!
Amazon but it only lasted a week. Scrap it and just use the throttle
can ou share he brand and model of he motor
FTW🤘
I can't decide which bike you look more macho on Super Dave 😂😂😂 Stay safe ...👍👍👍
Let me film riding both in my speedo
@@NorCal-refrigeration LMAO ...
I have this same bike and want to do this. so rad i found you brotha. im going to burning man and am wondering if your wiring is holding up well? did you ever do a follow up on this?
I ride to the surf 🏄🏼♂️ breaks every day. All is good
If you charge your batteries at the university what does mpg matter. Awesome video NorCal.
Nice kit !
🥃🥃🍺🍺🍺🍿🏌🏻♀️
Stay safe.
Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
Please come along way with these little do it yourself kits sense 15 years ago.
What size rim came with the kit that you ordered? I have a 26" huffy Beach cruiser that I want to convert.
Me too
if any traffic roundabouts there you can host a norcal grand prix 500 on april 1st
👍
I did this same conversion to my Schwinn beach cruiser last week. I had to add a torque arm like you did because the axle kept pulling out of the forks drop out. Yesterday I noticed it trying to pull out with a little gap between the axle and dropout. How is yours holding up?
Requires checking but going good still 30mph.
@@NorCal-refrigeration Thanks.
"Horrible Dinkleson" lmao! Sweet ride, throw tippy over your shoulder and your ready to run some calls 😉
There’s companies in China that make full e bikes with trailer ( covered ) you can find them on Ali Baba. You could charge a green fee tell the hippie customers there saving planet.
disservice calls is more like it, not enough tools, supplies or equipment. I guess you could carry universal capacitors and go full run-cap bandit :))
Nice conversion. What is your experience so far with front hub weight increase ? Is the bike harder to steer compared to before ebike conversion ? Any issues with front hub as opposed to choosing rear hub. I am about to make a decision on front vs rear hub conversion kit, same type of bike, road use. Thx
The front was easy / lazy way to do it. Works great. But things like wheel turned acceleration can be sketchy. Other than that it’s still going good.
are you still happy with the parts you selected?
I am guessing by your installation of the kill switch you did away with the hand brake lever. I am on the verge of doing this to my bike but was wondering about coaster brakes effectiveness, but it seems you are cruising along just fine. Thanks for the video.
The braking is lacking. And yes kill switch replaced brake lever.
Very nice, but I think we need a head to head comparison to the low rider S. 🤘😎🤘
I have another moto video coming
Was the wire for the kill switch long enough or did you have to use additional wiring?
Added wire.
Every time I see things going electic I think of Elon. Not sure why
Nice bike thou 🚲 👍
I have an Electra Cruiser 1 I’m looking to convert to electric. What conversion kit did you get from Amazon and which battery did you go with? Thanks for any help or advice you can give!
Hey did you ever get the answer to your question? I'm wondering the same thing just got that bike at a garage sale its so nice. I want to convert.
Ah, all the info is in the description! The wheel hub kit is $245 and the battery is about $140
Ready for El Diablo run
Ya 15 days to get there. Lol
I have my Electra on the rack getting ready to strip things out. I was thinking of going a Bafang mid motor and was wondering how that would work with the coaster brake? Do you use the front brake and did your bike come with one or is it an add-on?
It would be add on. I’m just running coaster break and it’s scetchy.
I ended up going with the ebikeling 750w front hub kit. There are bolt holes on the hub for a disk brake but no real clearance to fit one, much less mounting holes for the caliper, so I guess Im going to rig a front caliper setup. Standard brake shoes or something larger or stickier?
How do you program the computer
Do you have any updates on how your E-bike has been performing? Maybe a quick two to three minute video?
Sure.
Hi where did you get your kit from? And was the battery included?
Amazon no batter separately
Looking for part two.ooooo
Could you please tell me the name of the company you purchased that from? Maybe model? Looks awesome!
All in the description
Any chance of a follow up on how you find the front hub drive . I am looking at converting a 29er hardtail to front hub drive, but most bike shops i've talked to say they are bad in wet or slippery conditions. I would be interested in your comments. The bike is used mainly on paved bike paths with a few hill sections
The manual says not for wet weather. I think that’s because the electronics will get wet and die. I’ve been ripping all over on it up a huge hill to work ( pedaling and throttling 12mph ). There are rear hub kits out there also.
Thanks for the reply. The Road laws in NZ limit E bikes to 300W max motors, unless only for off road use.Going Rear hub drive means I cant run my existing worn Shimano 9 speed cassette, chain and chainrings. In these Covid shortage times Bike parts can be a hassle to source in NZ. keep up the entertaining vids
@@davecole1546 Hey Dave. I converted a cruiser using front hub 250w motor about 6 months ago. I havent noticed any lack of traction or stability but generally avoid rain because of the electronics. 300w 36v is fine for me. I only need to lightly assist with pedalling up hills. The reason I built my bikes from components is so that you can stay legal as many of the off the shelf products aren't legal. My top speed under power with this set up is over 30kph and range is 40ish kms. Front hubs are known as the least efficient set up by my set up is my regular work commute and is fine so far.
@@NorCal-refrigeration Hey there Nor-Cal, Where did you get a hub motor for a 2.125" wide cruiser wheel? all the ones I find are a 1 3/4" mountain bike type rim... or did you re-spoke in the motor in??? I got a brand new cruiser I am excited about converting, will those hub motors work on the rear w coaster brake? Don't really want FWD. If rear hub motor not an option I plan on clocking a mid-motor up inside the frame with a frame bag over it so no-one can see it... does that sound like an easy fabrication? (the cruiser frames have way more room up there)
@@autojohn-pu1vf Amazon I think the link is in description
I cannot tell does your bike have the cruiser brake or did you have to remove that?
Yes the coaster brake in rear wheel is there. And it’s not much when going 30 mph. Lol
why not upgrade the gearing for hills ?
it's a good job...but you might want to wear a helmet. I was riding along on something like this several years ago, hit a sudden abrupt depression in the road, and the next thing I knew I was going "WHACK' against a curb with my head. I was lucky in that I had a helmet on, and so was able to get and walk away pushing my bike along beside me. I recall when I stood up being so astonished that I had hit that curb so fast and so hard and had come out of it undamaged that I put my hands to my head and walked around a few minutes just saying over and over "Wow Wow Wow!" I've ridden a great deal since then, both electric and gas bikes and I find I can't even sit stationary on a powered 2 wheel vehicle without some kind of helmet on.
Pedal-assist on a one-piece crank? Anything I should know? Want to put a hub motor on a 7 speed cruiser. Customizations look better on a cruiser. Just worried about pedal-assist setup on a one-piece crank.
It didnt last long the sensor for pedal assist. I use the throttle it’s still working great.
@@NorCal-refrigeration it sounds like you mean it got broken. I'm going to try to make it work as well. It's in a bad spot I'm thinking a large washer welded to the crank in front of it to protect it. I've got to try something to make it work without spending a bundle on a new crank.
@@radiocean707 I made a nice bracket for it.
Think you can do the same build but do the rear engine?
You can
how much was the kit Dave 👍🏼??
The wheel kit is in description
Any idea how far you can go on a full charge?
Around 18-20 miles but I’m usually full throttle with some hills.
Lol i was thinking the same thing...dont cut out the rat rod piece
He doesn't want any of this !!!!! HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Bro i have the same bike. Non electric thou. Think about it now. 🚲
What distance can you get
Great question I need to a range test.
@@NorCal-refrigeration Riding a bike while wearing sandals is a no.
Do you have any social media I can show you this bike I might buy it’s an ebike
I’m on IG
@@NorCal-refrigeration what is it
@@julianloera8458 same as RUclips
so much for good exercise the pedaling gives. :))
it's about time to require moped licensing and disallow them on combined walking/bike trails. why? because too many idiots go flying past walking/jogging/running people(whole families) at full speed. if they want to do that, they should go ride on the road and play dodgem with vehicles ;)
maybe it's time for some stick in the spoke tricks or a little helping push, that would slow'em right down...
It’s already here no ebikes on trails.
@@NorCal-refrigeration I kind of figured, commifornia and all :)
What'd you ssssssay ssssssoney?
All you need is a mini trailer to haul your refer gear...
The make 3 wheel covered trailers bikes all electric ⚡️ and full coffee cart bikes as well. I should go for a 4 th job. Lol
20 years old? My man ain’t that a 2004 rat rod?
No idea when I got it. But it was way back
Cool.. lazy man bike. How about them 49ers.. I am on season 2 of boycotting the NFL. But glad your boys won. The whiners are out in Philthadelphia today.. I am laughing all the way. Stay safe and be well Brother Dave
Philly could of had. It. Kick a field goal instead of fn around at the goal line. And we blocked another. That would have been tie game.
Handlebars have got to go horrible bmx
Nope the ergonomics are so good they stay
