How to Make Vector PixelArt

In this video I show how to make a vector version of a pixelart image from an old game. First, select the image and copy it to Illustrator. Second, try to use Image trace and see it fail! Third, two ways to make the pixel grid for building the artwork. Finally, color the "pixels".
I made this because my kids have been asking about the video games I played when I was younger. Zelda: A Link to the Past for Super Nintendo was my favorite. This was a fun quick project to work on.

You could also do the same in raster by taking the selection and scaling it up with near neighbor algorithm

Also you might use online pixel art to vector convertor. It might come handy as it doesn't require any additional software and work online zasenko.name/vectorize-pixelart.html
