Lightning is the spark that can be seen in the sky during rains and thunder is the loud sound heard just after lightning.though they occur at the same time lightning is seen before thunder is heard ,this is because the speed of light is much more than the speed of sound.The speed of light in air or vaccum is approximately 3*10⁸m/s and the speed of sound in air is 343m/s.Thus,the light from lightning travels to us much faster than the sound produced by it.
actually sound cannot travel in vacuum so you can correct you comment

The lightning and thunder are seen when there is a heavy rain and lightning is seen before than thunder because you generally seen that if lightning 🌩️⚡ falls on somebody or something it will burn it and it is because of the high speed of lightning so lightning is seen earlier because speed of lightning is very much higher than the speed of thunder, thunder speed is 330m/s and which is very less because speed of lightning is seen and calculated as 3 × 10 to the power 8 hence, lightning is seen earlier than thunder
