Whenever you construct anything, as a civil engineer you prefer to use the best steel in the market.
What are the quality of this best steel?
Off course from engineering point of view you want a -
    Hard and Ductile steel.
Hardness for strength and ductility for bend ability.
and for all this properties, you select TMT bar or Thermo Mechanically Treated bar.
But what does mean by that and why TMT is a perfect combination of strength and ductility.
    Lets learn it.

Sir you need some correction here since I am a metallurgist I can say iron have three allotropes that is BCC , FCC, HCP iron . Allotropes means same chemical elements / compounds but different physical forms that is different crystal structure . Under normal atmospheric condition only BCC iron exists one is low temperature bcc that called ferrite , and one is high temperature ferrite that’s is delta ferrite . And one is FCC iron called austenite which occurs at intermediate temperature . And about hcp iron it only forms at very very high pressure .
And in material science these ferrite , austenite , cementite are consider to be phase in iron or steel and pearlite , bainite are mixture of phase . And martensite is very hard phase which formed due to equilibrium cooling .
Austenite , Ferrite , pearlite , cementite basically forms due to equilibrium cooling of steel steel from higher temperature . But martensite , bainite widmanstetteen ferrite forms due to non equilibrium cooling .
Non equilibrium products are finer and stronger than equilibrium products .
    Thank you sir
